As you know, I have been a fan of Mulberry since way back before 2010 when I opened this blog. It would be over 10 years now that I’ve loved the brand. My blog post that I wrote not long ago about the classic Mulberry bags that you need is one of my best performing posts this year, so I thought I would share with you the brand new colour leather from the brand that is gorgeous! It’s a perfect pale blue named ‘Pale Slate’ so I assume it has grey undertones, but what I am attracted to most, other than the cool and beautiful shade of leather, is the silver hardware. Usually Mulberry go for a brass or gold, so this is a nice change as I think this blue tone suits silver the most! It comes in almost all of their bag styles, accessories, and keyrings, as well as a 70’s print, but I’ve chosen 6 of my favourite Mulberry bags in Pale Slate to share with you!
First up (above) is the Mulberry Small Darley (you might remember I reviewed it in Oak) and it’s my favourite that I have added to my wish list! The Small Darley is one of their iconic bags with the signature postman’s lock and is perfect for carrying essentials or valuables as it’s quite petite. It’s only 13cm by 19cm by 4.5cm, so you can see it’s the perfect small and compact design! I’m planning to check the Mulberry shop in Somerset soon as I drive past it, just to see how gorgeous this is in person!
Next up is the Bayswater which is one of their most famous bags and is considered a Mulberry icon. It’s a timeless and classic shoulder bag, while the understated shape and finish showcases the exceptional level of leather quality, finished with a signature Postman’s Lock. A lot of ladies carry this one on the crook of their arms or just by the top handle, and we often see it in Oak or Black, but I think this Pale Slate couldn’t be prettier! It’s 26.5cm by 36cm by 16.5cm, so it’s much bigger and can fit everything you need in it, with many compartments inside!
The Small Amberley is one of Mulberry’s newer styles and is designed to be worn on the shoulder or hands-free across the body. It’s one of their designs they’re pushing forward for the country ladies, with its shape and hardware borrowed from equestrian styling. The geometrical Rider’s Lock closure is also a reinterpretation of the brands iconic Postman’s Lock, which I think is really cool! Its 18cm by 20cm by 8cm, and has a suede lining and internal slip pocket. It looks so pretty in this blue!
Now the Mulberry Lily needs no introduction! I have 3 versions of it, a burgundy leather, an oak leather, and a pink denim. It’s one of their most famous bag styles, and is a really versatile size and shape! It goes with absolutely anything and I adore that! It features an internal zip pocket, the chain can be worn cross-body or doubled up on the shoulder, and the size is 6¾” by 8¼” by 3.5″ and it even comes with a leather tab and padlock inside. Cute right?
The brand new Keeley bag embodies the best of the rebellious spirit that runs through British history, from suffragettes to punks, which is what I read on the Mulberry website. The silver hardware details and the new studded Keystone Lock contrast with a soft structure and natural slouch as this beautiful bag hangs from your shoulder. It’s a mixture of youth and versatility, which is making it really popular for this season. I can definitely see this being worn by a lot of people as it’s one of the designs that they sharing everywhere on social media right now! It’s 14cm by 21cm by 9cm and has an internal slip pocket.
Finally, we have the Small Bayswater, which again, is another icon and classic! It has been one of Mulberry’s most popular styles since it arrived in 2003! As time has gone on though, the brand’s creative director, Johnny Coca, has taken the iconic style and refined some key features to further enhance the beauty and practicality of its design. I think it’s super cute and the Pale Slate blue shade just enhances that in every way! It’s 22cm by 35cm by 12cm and has a zip pocket inside! You can either carry it by the top handle or with the strap! Another amazing bag!
Now for those of you who love the Pale Slate, but none of these bags are doing it for you, click here and you can shop the entire collection of Pale Slate bags from Mulberry! Plus, they even have the cutest little key charms and initial stickers to go with the new seasons colours! I think these add such a personal touch to your accessories and bags, and of course complement the Pale Slate! Anyway, what are you thinking of this beautiful blue? Lorna xx.
