My Celine Nano Luggage Bag in Dune Review
I never thought I would see the day when I actually got to write this blog post, but I’m writing it now! YAY! I couldn’t be more excited to reveal to you my new beloved designer bag, the Celine Nano Luggage in Dune. I never thought I would own a Celine because they are quite pricey, but for many months I had been saving up a lot of money to finally get this one on my trip to London a few weeks ago. I’ve wanted one since 2011! We stayed in the Westbury Hotel in Mayfair which is literally right on Bond Street, next to all the shops. As soon as Adam and I got to the hotel and changed out of our travelling clothes, we made our way to the Celine Boutique on Mount Street which wasn’t actually too far to walk. Mayfair is a beautiful area, which made it better.
So there I was, so excited like a little girl as we both came across the Celine shop and headed inside! Of course the doorman let us in and I was quite shocked to find how spacious and cool the interior of the boutique is. I don’t know if any of you have been to the Mount Street Celine Boutique, but it’s lovely! Adam and I walked around inside for a while, checking everything out, then headed over to the bag section where I could see quite a few Luggage Totes, but not the one I wanted. One of the sales assistants (who was lovely) asked me if I needed help and I told her I was looking for the Nano Luggage in a beige/taupe shade, so she headed to the stock drawer to have a look.
Once she opened it, I saw a Nano Luggage there in this Dune colour just staring at me, which she showed me, while I quickly fell in love with it. Dune is the replacement shade for Taupe since they change the names and colours slightly every season, so I am overjoyed to be able to have this beauty. It was the only one in the boutique which was incredibly lucky since I know coming across the classic colours is very difficult as they don’t make loads of them at one time. I was worried before going in that they wouldn’t have this one and I’d end up without one, but luck was on my side for once that day and I brought her home. I had to save up a lot for it, but after seeing how amazing and perfect it was, I was literally sold. So here’s my review on this beautiful bag and you can watch a YouTube video below too! I hope you like it.
Style: The style of this bag is obviously the Nano Luggage which is the smallest version of the Luggage collection that Celine do. It’s their unique shape that often looks like a face with some detailing on it. The actual bag itself is a square, but the sides are soft so they fold outwards a little bit, creating a beautiful shape. It has two top handles which you can carry with your hands or on the crook of your arm, or it has the cross body strap which clips on.
Leather: This particular version of the Nano Luggage is the Drummed Calfskin leather which is a pebbled leather. It’s really durable, lightweight, and lovely, so it’s definitely a great leather to choose. I think I like it more than the soft lambskin because that seems like it would scratch quite easily, where this is harder wearing, which is what I need.
Details: The Celine Nano Luggage features a removable shoulder strap which clips on with the Celine embossed clips, meaning it can be cross-body if you need it to be. It has a zipper closure at the top, a slip pocket inside, and a zipper closure on the front of the bag. It doesn’t feature a lining as the lining inside is the back of the leather, but it’s incredibly soft and lovely with so many cute details that make it unique. I love the silvery/gold Celine logo embossing too!
Colour: As I mentioned, the colour is called Dune and it really is similar to sand actually. It varies in different lights, but it’s a beige, yellow, taupe mixture which is the perfect neutral to go with everything! You can see a true representation of the colour below in the video, but it’s the shade I was looking for since I don’t have anything neutral like this as an everyday bag.
Size: The size is larger for a small/mini bag, it’s 20cm x 20cm x 10cm (or that’s 8″ x 8″ x 4″ inches) which you can see from the photos is about the width of my butt from the side or almost the width of my hips. I was worried it would be too big for me which is why I was desperate to try it on, but luckily it’s just right. It is one of the bigger bags that I own actually since my others are smaller, but sometimes you need that. Luckily it’s extremely lightweight and not heavy in the slightest, which is important to me too.
Overall Opinion: My overall opinion of this bag is one of pure joy. I am SO happy that words can’t even express how in love I am with it. I finally have my Celine Nano Luggage that I’ve wanted for over 5 years and knowing that I saved up hard for it, took the trip to London, bought it in the boutique, and was lucky enough to get the last one, has made the experience that much more special. It’s the perfect size, weight, style, and colour to be one of the most versatile bags for me. Overjoyed doesn’t come close! It’s nice to actually realise certain dreams (albeit materialistic) can actually come true.
– I think that covers everything! It never came with a box like Chanel or Louis Vuitton do, just the thick cotton dust bag and the Celine gift bag, so that helps with saving space actually. You can read my Louis Vuitton Alma BB review to compare both bags, but this is my new favourite for a long time now! I was clutching the bag all the way back to the hotel after being around London for a while. I was not letting it go! If anyone tried to take it, they were getting punched, ha ha. I hope you enjoyed it and let me know if you have any questions at all about the Celine Nano Luggage in Dune! Unfortunately you can’t buy it online as it’s only available in the boutiques, but I wanted to do this review to help those of you interested. However, you can shop pre-owned versions on Vestiaire if you want to check that out. You will be seeing this bag a lot in upcoming outfit posts too! Stay tuned!
