I just wanted to make a bit of a personal post as I was inspired by Elizabeth’s post on her blog here. It got me thinking that I feel exactly the same way. Blogging really is just a place that bloggers, like myself, get to share a part of their life with their readers. That’s exactly what I am doing, I’m sharing just a small snippet of my life as well as the things I like and I am very happy that you all appreciate it and love to follow me while enjoying my posts and my style 🙂
Blogging is like an outlet for me, I honestly couldn’t live without it and you all make my day when I read your comments and when I see the numbers of my views/stats going up and up. It’s a really nice feeling to know that everything I do on my blog is responded to in a good way.
I originally started out blogging because I wanted a place where I could share my personal style, likes and dislikes with people and hopefully connect with some of you in the way of having similar style and a love for fashion. I was initially very scared because it’s a daunting process putting yourself out there. It does make you very vulnerable and very open to criticism and abuse (which I have been through before) and that’s why at first I wasn’t making my blog personal, I was just keeping it about fashion and my style. Now though, I am a very strong person and I have grown a lot. I’m strong minded, I never respond to peer pressure, in fact it makes me do the very opposite and go right away from it. I guess you could call me stubborn, but I’m very much about doing what makes you happy and you should never do things that people pressure you into doing if you don’t want to do them etc. You should always be comfortable in your decisions, unless you are trying to get better and the things you are doing are for the greater good.
What I really wanted to say though was that, like Elizabeth, us fashion bloggers are just regular people posting things on the internet. I do get emails too from my readers and they do say they don’t want to waste my time or they hope I will be able to get back to them or even that they think they are not worthy of my time. That’s really not the case. I never want any of you to feel that way at all. I always make a point of replying to all of you as often as I can in my comments or on my social media and I will reply via email too. I never want any of you to feel like you are not worthy of my time.
We are all the same, I just decide to share a part of my life with you, it is a very small part and I only keep it as the good things. I never like to post about my illnesses, ailments, problems, stresses, worries or anything like that. I just stick to keeping it positive because I never want to drag you down with depressive things. Reading positive posts and happy blogs makes me more positive and inspired for the day, so that’s why I like to keep mine that way. Plus, since they are my problems, I can deal with them on my own. You don’t need to be forced into that.
So I never want you to feel like you can’t talk to me, leave me a comment or message me because you feel frightened or like I don’t think you worthy enough, that’s definitely not the case. I will reply to you all as I am very appreciative of you for reading my blog and wanting to be a part of my life through it. We are all the same and we are all human at the end of the day. Most of the time I end up chatting with my readers if they email me about general things and not about my blog at all in the end, I’ve made a lot of online friends that way and I’m very grateful for it. And of course I am always here if you want to know anything about my personal style or views on fashion and I can definitely help out with any denim questions, naturally.
I just thought I should make this post because it’s important to me that I never come across that way as it’s not who I am. I don’t take myself too seriously at all and I have a big sense of humour. You mean as much to me as my blog does to you (I hope, ha ha) so I’m also always trying to make sure the posts I like doing are the posts you like to read too 🙂 I’m always happy to hear from you all and I’m always interested in getting to know you too! Don’t forget you can follow me more personally on my social media like Twitter, FaceBook and Instagram (@LornaRaindrops) as well if you want to get to know me better.
