What To Wear To A Garden Party

How To Look Pretty At A Summer Garden Party The summer is in full swing right now and it’s absolutely boiling, but with that comes an influx in outdoor activities and one of my favourites is the summer garden party! There’s many different types of garden parties that you can attend and some of those include water, while others are more of a classy, sophisticated experience such as a BBQ with iced teas. Any of them are bound to be blast, but when it comes to choosing the perfect outfit for your chosen event, what do you even wear? It can be tough to narrow your ideas down and choose a dress that’s perfect, but I think I have done just that with my wonderful collaboration with House of Fraser – one of my favourite department stores. As I wanted to style a look centered around an evening garden party, I chose this absolutely stunning embroidered midi dress from Chi Chi London and I think it couldn’t be more perfect if it tried. I’m thinking party cakes, sweet teas, elegant BBQ food and gentle jazz music while everyone enjoys themselves of an evening, what could be better than this dress? It’s feminine, classy, girly, cute, all while being intricately detailed and flattering to the figure. The pastel, blush pink shade is a hue that I always gravitate towards now as it’s incredibly complementary to my skin tone, and the little embroidered flowers in pastel green and pink just make it divine. I couldn’t stop staring at the dress as soon as I received it, especially as the back of it…

The Red Floral Playsuit Outfit – Take Two

Red Floral Playsuit Styled Again If this outfit looks familiar, it might be because I wore this playsuit a couple of weeks ago in a very similar way (see here), but I switched it up a little bit for the second outfit. In my opinion, if something isn’t broken, don’t fix it, and I liked the previous look so much that I didn’t want to stray too far away from that for a re-styling. So, all I did was swap out the shoes, and ditch the cardigan, so for this look, I was wearing my H&M Floral Red Playsuit which I styled with my Moschino Teddy Bear Slides and my Gucci GG Matelasse Black Velvet Bag. Now as I have styled this similarly in two different looks, I’m of course going to ask you if you prefer the first or second outfit? The weather has been so hot, I think this might even be the longest heat wave we have had? I actually cannot wait for it to cool down and start being tolerable to go outside, or sleep for that matter. I’m not sure how you all do it for those of you that live in a hot climate. I’m just not made for it! My summer shoes that I bought, like these Moschino Bear Slides, are getting so much use though and all I seem to be living in right now is cotton playsuits as it’s the only thing breathable! I’ve also been wearing a new pair of sunglasses that are rainbow and mirrored (I actually bought them last year in the winter) so I’m enjoying those right…

Sunsets On Lyme Regis Beach

Sunsets On Lyme Regis Fossil Beach I wanted to mostly let the photos do the talking for this blog post. After Adam and I had gone ‘fossiling’ as I call it, we saw the most prettiest sunset on the walk back, so we had to stop to take some photos. There was a little pool of water left over from where the tide had gone out earlier, and the orange sun was reflecting beautifully in it from the sky. It was truly picturesque! As I was only wearing a really casual and easy outfit, I didn’t want to make this post about the look, and instead just keep it all about the beauty of the scenery. For those of you interested though, I was wearing Citizens of Humanity Corey Denim Shorts, an Oasis Shirt, and a Mulberry Lily Bag. It’s one of those rarer occasions where you see me with my hair tied back too. For those of you who haven’t been to Lyme Regis before, I definitely recommend it. It’s not much of a town and it doesn’t have much night life, but if you’re someone that adores nature like I do, and history, you will like it. It’s very quiet and relaxing, yet filled with culture. These photos were taken on Fossil Beach and it’s usually pretty quiet there in the evening – we only saw about 10 people in 2 hours. It’s crazy to think that the rocks and fossils date back to the Jurassic period! Isn’t it beautiful? I can’t wait to go back! P.S. – These are the same Citizens of Humanity shorts that I…

The Oasis Seahorse Playsuit Outfit

Oasis Seahorse Playsuit Outfit Some more photos from Lyme Regis for you! We actually spent a lot of time in the Alexandra Hotel as they had some amazing grounds, so lying on the sun loungers and checking out the gardens was a nice change. To actually spend time relaxing was a completely new experience for me as we never usually stay in places with grounds, we usually pick a large hotel in London, or a small B&B in St. Ives. It felt strange to not do much, but as it was a mini getaway to recuperate, it made sense. I actually wore this Oasis Bardot Seahorse Playsuit most days when I was there! It’s so comfortable and easy to wear, I’ve been wearing it last week too. It’s mostly sold out, but if you do manage to find it, I recommend it to you as it’s wonderful! I’m so glad that I picked it up when I did. I styled it with my Schutz Rashne Double Strap Sandals and my Mulberry Lily Bag in Oak. I wasn’t sure whether the combination of tan, black, and blue actually went together, but since I didn’t take many accessories and shoes, it’s what I went with and I quite like how it turned out. Now as it’s sale season, I wanted to share with you some of my favourite sales that I have been taking advantage of right now! I’m only listing 8 of them though, as these are the shops I like to buy my items from and the deals are too good to pass up! Seriously! I think this is one…

Yumi Flamingo Print Jumpsuit At Lyme Regis

Yumi Flamingo Print Jumpsuit Outfit at Lyme Regis I’m feeling extremely summery today! I’ve been sat in the garden for a few hours under the shade of the tree, just relaxing and watching the insects and bees going about their business. I’ve had a headache for the past 48 hours so sometimes just getting outside and soaking up nature’s surroundings is just what I need. I feel extremely content as I’m writing this, instead of the usual overwhelming feeling. I usually have 3 days between each blog post as you know, but unfortunately I was a day late posting my Moschino Teddy Bear Slides review as I wasn’t very well, so this outfit post is coming early, so I can keep to my schedule. So for this look, this was one of the outfits that I wore when I was in Lyme Regis and I love how easy it is! It’s basically just my Yumi Flamingo Jumpsuit (now on sale) which I styled with my Ray-Ban Aviator Sunglasses, my Mulberry Lily Bag in Oak, and my Daniel Wellington Classic Petite Watch. I only took easy pieces while we were away, so that consisted of a pair of jeans and a shirt for travelling, and my playsuits/jumpsuits as they make outfits that bit easier to put together. I got this Yumi Flamingo Jumpsuit last month and I fell in love with it. I’ve never really been much of a jumpsuit person (except this outfit here) and now I am wearing them all the time! It’s actually incredibly flattering with the wrap detailing and the elasticated waist. I can’t get enough of…

A Red Floral Playsuit With A Gucci Velvet Bag

A H&M Red Floral Playsuit With A Gucci Marmont Bag I bought this H&M Red Floral Playsuit (buy it here) on a whim last week and I wasn’t sure on it at first, actually anticipating returning it as it felt quite floaty, but knowing what I’m like, I left it a couple of days and then tried it again. Low and behold, I loved it and decided to keep it. Does anyone else get like that? Some days you don’t feel connected to an item, then another day you’re obsessed with it? I mean I love this playsuit so much that I’ve actually worn it for 4 days in a row now! This is the first look I created to show you, and there’s a similar one coming soon as well. Can you believe it’s only £12.99 and I had 10% off as well, so that’s a win to me! I did originally want the black floral one, but it was sold out in my size UK 10 unfortunately, but I’m over the moon with this one! Given that the weather has been so hot and humid, it’s been a dream to wear for keeping me cool. I literally love it! I decided to style this playsuit with a H&M Fine Knit Cardigan in Black (buy it here) which I got at the same time (this is only £8.99 – wow) and I love this too! It’s really light weight and comfortable, so I ordered another one in blush pink as well. I’m feeling a lot of the easy wearing pieces at the moment from H&M, everything is so cute!…

Vintage Purple Floral Dress In The Summer

Vintage Purple Floral Dress In The Summer The past 5 days or so have been crazy! Where did the summer go? I know some of you here in the UK have had awful flooding from the severe thunderstorms we were all having, so I hope you’re all ok! Luckily here it didn’t flood, just bad storms. As us Brits always talk about the weather, I’m sure a lot of us are being skeptical and thinking that the summer has now gone, ha ha. I’m just lucky Adam and I managed to get a few good days of sun while we were in Lyme Regis! Speaking of which, the blog post with the photos will be coming up on Friday! Now getting to my outfit, you have seen this dress twice before (here and here) and it’s one that I often reach for in the hot weather. It’s a Vintage Urban Renewal Dress and the cotton is so lightweight that it’s just completely breathable and lovely. It’s a joy to wear when you’re sweating, ha ha. I styled it with my Schutz Rashne Double Strap Sandals (which I included in my recent shoe roundup), my Celine Mini Belt Bag in Clay, my Superdry Sunglasses (I’m sure you can tell I love them right now) and my Swarovski Crystal Dust Bracelet. I’m glad that when I actually bought this dress back in 2014 (I know, I was shocked I have had it 4 years!) it was a little loose because it still fits me with the small weight gain that’s happened over the last year. It’s one of those pieces that I…

A Floral Summer Dress With A Celine Belt Bag

A Yumi Floral Dress With A Celine Belt Bag I’m so pleased to be able to share with you more summer photos! These were shot a couple of weeks ago when we had the heatwave as now it’s gone quite cold again unfortunately. I do still have another look to show you though which was taken in the glorious sunshine! That will be going live in just under a week, so stay tuned for that. While I’m typing this, I’m in the middle of packing for my trip away with Adam. We booked a late May short break away to celebrate our 10 year anniversary last month and it’s to a place we have never been, so I am hoping it’s fun! I will be sharing photos from the trip at some point, but it’s not a working trip so I’m not sure what I will be doing when I’m there. My aim is to take an actual holiday for 3 days and not worry about any work, but we will see as that never usually goes to plan, ha ha. For this outfit, you might remember this Yumi Floral Dress as I got it on holiday in St. Ives two years ago! Do you recognise the print? We shot the photos last time on the beach (see here) and I thought it would be nice to wear it again as it holds so many lovely memories – it was the holiday where Adam proposed to me. I decided to pair this Yumi Dress with my RAYE Sandals and then finish it off with my Superdry Sunglasses, my Celine Belt…
