Cardiff Outfit – Take Two

A Second Outfit In Cardiff, Wales Happy Wednesday everyone! These are my second lot of photos taken in Cardiff, Wales, almost two weeks ago (see my first set here). We were looking around for different places to shoot the photos and there’s a couple that I took outside a church in the city centre, one that we took inside an arcade, but the lighting was too dark, and then on the way to Barry to get my tattoo, we found a beautiful park, so we decided to shoot the photos there instead. This little pathway with the trees either side of it was so beautiful, I liked how it framed everything. I can only imagine how nice Summer outfits would look here, so I might have to keep this location in mind for the future! For my outfit, I wanted something comfortable and casual as I was out all day in Wales, but also because I was getting my tattoo and wanted to be non restricted and without pain from tight clothes or shoes, so this is what I went with. As I’ve said before, this type of look has become somewhat of a uniform for me. I was wearing my new Zara Summer Coat, which would you believe only cost £29.99 as it’s lightweight? I layered it over my Mango Knitted Tank Top and wore my L’AGENCE Margot Graphite Skinny Jeans again, with my Louis Vuitton Belt wrapped around to tie it together. I went with my Fila Disruptor II in Feather Grey, and then threw on my Michael Kors Selma Bag, which I often use for traveling as…

That Wrap Red Dress

The French Connection Red Wrap Dress For those of you who saw my trip to Clarks Village blog post, you will remember this Red Wrap Dress that I picked up from French Connection as it seemed to be the star piece of the day! Of course I decided to style it the day after as we were amidst a heat wave, so it couldn’t have come at a more perfect time – it was meant to be! Honestly, I couldn’t wait to wear the dress, and I was excited to see how I wanted to style it for the first outing. I went with my Jimmy Choo Melba Boots and my Gucci Marmont Velvet Mini Bag in Black, as I think red and black together are really striking. I also chose my Ray-Ban Round Double Bridge Mirrored Sunglasses, and a gold watch. I of course matched a bold red lip to the dress as well, as it wouldn’t be complete without that. My favourite thing about this French Connection Red Dress is the colour and print of it. I’m always a fan of a wrap dress as I find them extremely flattering to an hourglass silhouette, and the bold, ruffle sleeves really help to hide your upper arms if your conscious about them. The deep neckline is really pretty, which coupled with the length of the dress is really modest. I cant fault it really! I’m usually a size UK 8 – 10 in my clothes, sometimes a 6, however I had to take a size UK 12 in this French Connection dress as it ran a bit smaller around…

A Casual Look For Cardiff

A Casual Outfit For Cardiff When I travel to a different place, in this instance, the wonderful country of Wales, I always like to see how different the backgrounds are from Bath when it comes to doing the outfit shoots. These photos were taken just outside of Cardiff Central train station and since I hadn’t been to Wales for a while, they finally finished all the renovations they were doing here and it’s now a large, open space with a fancy blue/grey building in the background. Here in Bath there are hardly any open spaces, since it’s very much a Georgian and Roman city, so everything is very close together and old, which I think is beautiful, but for getting a bokeh effect or a really blurry background, it’s not ideal. I included a couple of iPhone shots here too so you can see what I mean with the background. iPhone is clear all around, while the camera (Nikon D610 with 85mm lens) is wonderfully blurry. Of course we do get that sometimes here, but not to this level, and it was also nice to be using a background that wasn’t the classic yellow/beige Bath stone. I’m heading back to Wales soon for my tattoo so I plan on doing more outfit shoots there. Getting to my outfit, this is what I wore when I went for my tattoo consultation and since I was travelling a lot, it made sense to wear something comfortable and easy, so this is my go to. Much like you saw with my brown jeans outfit, I’m really favouring this look. I went with my…

My Trip To Clarks Village

My Trip To Clarks Village Shopping Outlet I’m really excited to share this blog post with you all! Those of you who follow me on Instagram will know that I went to Clarks Village a couple of weekends ago for a shopping trip. Now for those of you not familiar with it, Clarks Village is an outlet shopping village in Street, Somerset, here in England. It was actually established in 1993 on the site of the old C&J Clark factory buildings. There are over 90 high street and designer retailers at the shopping centre, along with numerous coffee shops, restaurants and food stops. There’s so much going on there, which made such a great day out! If you have followed me for a long time, you know what my relationship with collaborations and brands is like, and that I rarely take them on if I don’t like the product, concept, or idea behind it, which is why you hardly see collaboration style posts here and instead I focus on much more authentic content. This means that you know when I do work with a brand or company, it’s genuine, and that’s how I feel about this one. I’d always heard things about Clarks Village, mostly from my dad who loves it there, and some friends, but had actually never been myself, so when they reached out and spoke to me about heading along for a shopping experience and to share it with all of you, I couldn’t have been happier! The journey from Bath to Clarks Village is about 50 minutes by car, so I decided to go with my…

A Brown Jeans Kind Of Day

Brown Jeans With Brown Tones First up, who can spot the Mini Cooper car in the above image? Ha ha! Anyway, as you know, I really love neutrals and I adore mixing them together and creating simple looks like this, for comfy, casual wear. I used to like doing it with greys, but I am mostly enjoying the warmer shades of brown now and this is one of my go to looks that I am wearing frequently lately. I was wearing a new pair of L’AGENCE Margot Skinny Jeans in Brown this time, giving my Graphite pair a break, but as they are older season and I picked them up in the sale, they are no longer available online unfortunately, but I have linked the Biscuit pair as they’re equally as amazing. I paired these jeans with my Mango Knitted Tank Top and wrapped my Gucci GG Belt around the middle to tie it together. Since it was a little chilly, I went with my Pretty Little Thing Cardigan as well to create the base. Now as the weather is warming up, I tend to gravitate towards more accessories, so I doubled up two different shell necklaces, the white beaded one from Mango and the gold one from Sashi. I then wore my new Ray-Ban Round Double Bridge Aviator Sunglasses which I am obsessed with right now, I can’t get enough of them! For my shoes I opted for my new Fila Disruptor in Feather Grey Suede (it’s more beige to be honest) as I loved the white pair so much, I wanted more of a nude shade, then finally…

Pastel Pinks For Easter

Happy Easter Everyone! Happy Easter! I know I sometimes used to do a costume for Easter (see here, here and here), but this time I decided to be mature about it and do something like an Easter style outfit instead. What did I have in mind for that? Pastel shades. I’m often reminded of pastel pink, blue and green, so I went with pink and I love it. I wasn’t overly sure on the outfit at first though as it’s a combination I put together while trying to recreate a look from Allsaints (see here). I have since purchased that dress though and you will be seeing it soon, but for now, I’ve gone the custom route! For my look, I was wearing a Topshop Satin Skirt, which was fairly affordable and comes in multiple colours! I then layered over the top my Topshop Cropped Fluffy Jumper, to try and re-create the style. For my shoes, I went with my RAYE White Boots to really make it look sophisticated, and finished it off with my The Cambridge Satchel Company Small Emily Bag in Lilac, to bring the Easter vibes. I do think the combination of the white and pink together is definitely Spring appropriate! What I’m looking forward to though is actually styling the Allsaints Tierney version itself, to see how different I can make it, or see how different it actually looks compared to my own creation. Since this type of look is completely different to what I would normally wear, especially the satin skirt, I’m really interested to know your opinions on it. Do you think it suits me?…

The Horse Coin Shirt With White Jeans

Topshop Horse Coin Shirt With Jeans So you saw my first outfit with this Topshop Horse Coin Shirt (if you missed it, see it here) and you all really liked the styling with the beige corduroy skirt, so what I have done for the second look is kept everything the same, but swapped out the skirt for a pair of AGOLDE Sophie Skinny Jeans in White, to bring a different vibe and feel to the outfit. The other pieces I was wearing are my Mulberry Small Darley in Oak, my Gucci GG Belt in Tan, and my Jimmy Choo Romy 85 Shoes. I’ve kept the location the same and everything else, so you can really see how different the outfit looks with one piece changed. I was surprised myself actually at how a pair of distressed white jeans makes the ensemble tougher, more casual, and gives it an edge, compared to how chic, feminine and classy it looked before, but both of them still have a playful twist because of the blouse. Since I covered everything else in the previous post, I don’t need to go into too much detail with this article, so I’m going to leave you with the big question of which look you prefer. Do you prefer it with the skirt, or with the jeans? I want to hear your arguments for both! Lorna xx.

Monochrome Grey Over The Knee Boots Outfit

Monochrome Grey Over The Knee Boots Outfit Happy Wednesday everyone! I wanted to quickly say thank you to you for the amazing love and support you all gave me on my previous post celebrating my 9 years of blogging and body confidence! You’re all so wonderful and it’s been one of my best posts on Instagram in terms of engagement as well, so it’s not going unnoticed how much support you all give me. I’m glad you’re all really liking the new way I edit my photos too, which actually leads me to this location. There’s so many pretty crescents and circus areas here in Bath that they make the best backdrops for my outfits, especially with the use of lighting, and hints of orange and blue, it really plays off of the Bath stone that all the buildings use. You might think that I’m often using the same location, but I’m not, there’s at least 5 different crescents I use here, ha ha. Anyway, for this outfit, I was wearing a jumper that I got in the sale from Topman (buy it here) for only £12! Adam had got one and I really liked it, so I had to get the same, naturally, ha ha. It’s so cosy and soft though, so I decided to pair it with my L’AGENCE Margot Skinny Jeans in Graphite (my favourite ankle jeans ever!), which I put my ASOS Western Belt around to break it up and tuck the jumper into. To make it a bit more feminine, I wore my DUO Grey Over The Knee Boots again, and then finished it off…
