The 90’s Denim Button Skirt And Backpack Outfit

Topshop button front denim skirt with a cropped top and backpack Growing up in the 90’s was something that I will always remember. Thinking back to the old bands that I loved (Boyzone, S Club 7, Spice Girls, B*Witched, A1, 5ive…) and feeling like boys and sports (namely English football and badminton) were the only thing that was important. Every time I think back to my childhood and life in the 90’s, living and playing outside all the time, I do often have a smile on my face as I remember the good times of it. The only thing that I can say I wasn’t a huge fan of now that I look back though was the clothing! I used to love curtain hairstyles on boys and everyone wore clothes so baggy you could probably make a tent out of them (I’m completely guilty of this), so instead of re-creating a 90’s look with true authenticity and risk looking ridiculous, I’ve done my own 90’s inspired look, but with much more fitting pieces, yet it still reminds me of the past. As I was a complete tomboy growing up, I never actually used to wear girls clothing, I used to always choose pieces from the boys section, except for my shoes as I had massive platforms like the Spice Girls did, so to tell the complete truth, I never wore skirts. I knew plenty of people who did wear skirts like this though, so I thought re-creating something that I didn’t actually wear was a great idea. I bought this Topshop Button Front Denim Skirt a few months ago when…

The Long Grey Jacket With Over The Knee Boots

Grey long waistcoat with skinny jeans and over the knee boots It’s been a long while since I shared an outfit post with you on my fashion blog, which I apologise for, but I have been a little under the weather recently, so I haven’t really been able to concentrate fully on doing an outfit shoot to the best of my ability. I’m about 90% better now, so I hope it continues that way and doesn’t relapse. I wore this outfit on the weekend though when I went to town with Adam. We had some lunch and then we sat in the park for a while as it was a really nice day, so we enjoyed the sunshine, flowers and nature. Those of you who don’t follow me on Instagram will probably be thinking that something looks different about me here, and you are right, I had my hair chopped off. I had been contemplating going shorter for a couple of months and I finally made the decision to do it a few days ago. I was really tired of my long hair as it was constantly knotty, really hard to maintain and manage and it looked quite damaged on the ends as the hair was really old, plus, after having hair that long for well over 6 years, I thought it was time for a change. I had about 7 inches taken off in total and I actually donated the hair that I had chopped off to the Little Princess Trust who make real hair wigs for children with cancer. I was so nervous about doing it and thinking…

Black Denim Overalls At The UK Blog Awards

Paige Denim Sierra overalls with a white shirt and Balenciaga Mini City bag As you know, I attended the UK Blog Awards back in April in London at the Motcalm Hotel as I was a finalist in the fashion category, but as it was quite dark in the venue and really busy, we weren’t able to take many photos and the ones we did take didn’t come out in high quality due to poor lighting. I haven’t been able to get access to the professional ones taken of me on the night either. With that in mind, I have been waiting to show you what I wore to the event so I re-created the outfit this weekend! Paige Denim sponsored me to go, giving me these gorgeous Sierra denim overalls and paying for travel and accommodation while in London for both Adam and me, which was incredibly kind and thoughtful. I do love the brand with all my heart and Paige and I have supported each other since the beginning, which makes things even better. I got to meet one of my online blogger friends, Catherine from Not Dressed As Lamb as well as meet with someone else and we are in talks about a really cool project which will happen soon! Getting to my outfit, I wore the overalls with an ASOS white blouse, my Balenciaga Mini City Baby Diam bag in Black Suede and my Topshop Gabbi heels. It was a formal/black tie event and mostly everyone was in suits and dresses, but being a denim blogger, I felt compelled to wear denim and dress it up in…

The Oversized Khaki Shirt Dress

The oversized khaki shirt dress with wedges and a pop of pink I think there’s a lot to be said about shirt dresses, but in an unspoken way. I’m really drawn to them lately as they have such a casual ease to them, making them perfect for Summer, but at the same time as being relaxed, they have a sense of sexiness to them which is usually quite understated. This khaki one here is from Apricot (but there’s a similar one here) and I think the colour of it really makes it blend in well with so many things. I’m into military and khaki colours at the moment and they pair so well with browns, like these old Topshop wedges I have had for some time. For my accessories in this look, I went with my new Louis Vuitton Epi Leather Alma BB in Fuchsia (which I absolutely can’t get enough of), my Ray-Ban Aviators and some various pieces of jewellery mixed in with my Olivia Burton Butterfly watch. I think the fact that this type of look has a borrowed from the boys sense to it is what makes the proportions stand out. I definitely want to add more shirt dresses to my collection. I do have some denim ones, but that’s about it! What do you fashion bloggers and readers think of this outfit? I’d love to know! Don’t forget to vote in the poll too! All Saints Herringbone Coat At Bristol Fashion Week

All Saints Grey Coat With Skinny Jeans at Bristol Fashion Week This outfit is a little old as it’s the one that I wore to the Bristol Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2015 show about a month ago, but I hadn’t gotten around to posting it yet. Bristol Fashion Week is one of my favourite events as it’s really fun to see the other fashion bloggers and watch the models dance down the runway instead of just walk. This season it was hosted by Lucy Watson from Made in Chelsea and Mark Heyes, the famous stylist. Usually we see Andrew Barton take the stage with Mark, but it was a nice change. For my outfit, I wore my All Saints Lorie Tula Coat in Grey (buy it here in the sale and get an extra 20% off with the code EXTRA20) with my Citizens of Humanity Rocket Crop Jeans in Aura and my Topshop Peplum Top in Burgundy. I thought it would make a nice mix of colours and dimensions, pairing together the different hues and fits. I finished it with my Rebecca Minkoff Love Cross Body Bag in Denim (buy it here) and my Carvela Burgundy Booties. Overall, I think this is a look that I can definitely see being something that I gravitate towards more often. I’m really intro structured coats that have a really slim fit so they don’t overwhelm my frame, I think they pair nicely with skinny jeans and heels or boots. I actually loved this one so much that I just bought it in beige too, with the sale discount, so I couldn’t be happier to…

Little Bugs Upon My Shirt

A silk bug print shirt with cropped skinny jeans I hope you have all had a lovely week so far. Mines been a little tough, I usually don’t go into personal details on my blog as I like to keep it a happy and positive place, but quite a few emotional things have happened this week and it’s been quite hard to keep my spirits up. Knowing that you guys are out there supporting me and reading my fashion blog posts though and liking everything I do/post on my social media, always helps and does bring a smile to my face. It’s always lovely to know how supportive you all are to me, so I truly appreciate you and I can’t thank you enough on this journey. We shot these photos a few weeks ago while we were walking around town for a while in the warm weather. It was actually nice to take some time out and be a tourist in my town, discover new places and new areas and then shoot some photos in the park. We actually came across a protected swans nest which had eggs in, which is always beautiful to see. For my look, I wore my Citizens of Humanity Rocket Crop Skinny Jeans in Aura (which I am obsessed with) with my Equipment Bug Print Shirt. I love slouchy fitting shirts and Equipment is actually one of my favourite brands for that! For my shoes and accessories, I went with my Rebecca Minkoff Mini Mab Tote, my Topshop Burgundy and Gold heels, my Olivia Burton Butterfly Watch and some Ray-Ban Aviators. I did have…

70’s Style With A Twist From Topshop

70’s corduroy skirt with platforms and a trench coat I’ve been really into 70’s style clothes lately which is actually a blessing as the trend is popular at the moment. I’ve wanted to try a look like this for a while and as it turns out, I really like it. All of these pieces are from Topshop (except for the Ray-Ban Sunglasses) and I purchased them at different times over the course of last month. I would have never given a brown corduroy skirt the time of day before, but my tastes in clothes are changing and I thought pairing it with this cropped top was perfect. This look alone, combined with the Slick platform heels, is extremely retro, so to bring it to a current time and make it a little more modern, I threw my trench coat over the top. I think this really helps! But I have shown the look with and without it, so you can see what you think! On another note, I hope you are having a lovely weekend. In a few weeks time I’m going to be attending a wedding in Birmingham with Adam as one of his friends is getting married, so I’m really excited about that! I love weddings! I think I have my outfit sorted out and planned, but you never know, I tend to change my mind quite often. I’ve also got something really exciting to share with you soon! One of my latest purchases from London and those of you who follow me on social media will probably already know about it, but for those of you who…

The Faux Fur Ombre Gilet

The ombre faux fur gilet with skinny jeans and platforms I’m super excited as I’m leaving for London tomorrow morning to attend the UK Blog Awards 2015. As you might already know, The Jeans Blog was shortlisted down to the final 10 in the fashion category, so I’m keeping my fingers and toes tightly crossed in the hope that it wins! It would mean a huge amount to me if the judges picked it as the amount of work that has gone into that site is crazy! When you are so passionate about something though, as I am about denim and blogging, it just comes together and becomes a part of life. I’m really looking forward to the awards though as some fashion bloggers that I know online are attending, so it’s going to be nice to meet them. Getting to my outfit, I wore this look a couple of weeks ago when it was a little more chilly outside. I got this Topshop Faux Fur Ombre Gilet a little while ago and I absolutely love it. I’m not used to wearing so much faux fur at once and I was apprehensive about it as I know it can make you look larger, but that’s why I chose the sleeveless option so I didn’t look bulky. I paired it with a simple long sleeve white top for warmth and chose my Citizens of Humanity Rocket Crop Skinny Jeans in Aura to go with it. I truly am living in these jeans right now, they are one of my favourites for everyday wear! Finally, to maybe give it more of a…
