It’s Time For A Hair Change

Going For A Short, Blonde Ombre Hairstyle You may remember last year in May, I cut my hair shorter. I went from it being below my middle back (see here) to being short, just below my shoulders (see here). I then had a lot of highlights put in to make it a lot blonder since my natural colour has gone quite a dark, dirty blonde (see here). I haven’t had it cut since the end of Summer last year due to a lot of health issues, but I’ve booked in a hair appointment this Thursday and I am super excited! I want to change it again and go even shorter! Plus, I might want a different colour as well. See my inspiration and what I’m planning below!

Looking Back At 2015 & Welcoming 2016

Welcoming The Year 2016 It doesn’t feel like that long ago when I was doing my roundup of 2014 and talking about 2015 as a new year. This whole entire year has flown by and I can’t believe just how fast it’s gone now that I think about it. It’s kind of scary to think that I will be 28 this year and before I know it, I’m going to be 30! Wow. In time honoured tradition, I wanted to do a roundup of my favourite outfits and things that happened during each month of 2015, which you can see below, but I also wanted to take the time out to go through a few changes and ideas that I’m having for this brand new 2016 year. So what’s going to be new for 2016 on Raindrops of Sapphire? Due to me having had a lot of health problems over the last 6 months or so, I really need to focus on getting better both physically and mentally and that means not stretching myself and pushing myself to the limit. I will say, in all honesty, that fashion blogging isn’t as glamorous for me or what the photos lead people to believe, I actually do struggle quite a lot with the photoshoots during the Winter months. Living in England makes it very difficult to get the right lighting, avoid rain, avoid wind and to not freeze my butt off while taking photos, so for the rest of the Winter months, I will only be posting 2 blog posts a week. The Peacock Plaid Blazer With Burgundy Trousers

Peacock inspired plaid blazer with burgundy trousers I’m feeling very Autumn inspired lately. It might be the gloomy weather that we keep having with endless amounts of rain and freezing cold temperatures, but I’m definitely feeling it. It’s cooled down enough now that I’m wearing jeans, trousers and jackets again and I am pretty excited about it since Autumn is my favourite season of the year. I just love everything about it, not just the gorgeous warm hues from the leaves and the crisp air, but the fashion. I love layering and this time of year always brings new gorgeous coats, knitwear, boots and more that I would love to add to my closet! Speaking of Autumn outfits though, this one is right on key! I paired my River Island peacock coloured blazer (buy a similar blazer here) with a pair of Paige Denim burgundy trousers (buy a similar pair here). I actually purchased this blazer on sale a few months ago and I got it for a steal! It was £60 reduced to £20 and I knew it would be something I loved. I didn’t get the trousers to match it as I thought that might be too much plaid, but it goes with most of my jeans. If that wasn’t a good enough deal on its own, I picked up these Paige Denim trouser in TK Maxx a couple of months ago too for only… £10! Red, White And Blue, For You

A red, white and blue, 4th of July inspired outfit Happy 4th of July everyone! I know that I’m British and we don’t celebrate Independence here in the UK, but I know that I have just as many US readers as I do English ones, so I like to dress up! Any excuse I know! Since the UK flag is also red, white and blue, in pretty much identical shades, it can still be considered patriotic of me anyway, so it’s all good! Last year I wore this look for the 4th of July, but as it’s been crazy hot lately, something like that wasn’t doable and much less clothing was needed! So, what was I wearing? I wore my Levi’s 501 cobalt blue denim shorts with an ASOS cami blouse in white. I chose my Sam Edelman Petty booties to give it a more relaxed/festival vibe and then topped it off with a Fedora from H&M. To add the splash of red I went with my Push Lock bag from Cambridge Satchel and then chose a denim blue watch, a gold cross necklace and some random pearl bracelets. Since last year I went quite smart and sophisticated, I thought this year it would be a nice juxtaposition to choose something casual and easy. I love going through everything for the month that I have come across and fell in love with, then getting to share it with you all! This month definitely seems to have a lot of bags on it though as there have been so many gorgeous ones released! I’m really loving all of the pops of pink too, even though I don’t wear it so much anymore, I guess you could say I’m regressing! In the above collage I think the Balmain leather jacket is one of my favourite pieces! Isn’t the colour just stunning? As soon as I saw it, I was in awe! Followed by the pink mirror aviators and the grey moto jeans, then the Burberry burgundy dress. These are all such pretty pieces, and then below, I’ve completely fallen head over heels for the neon pink Rebecca Minkoff bags! The colour is gorgeous! There’s so many really nice pieces this month! All Saints Herringbone Coat At Bristol Fashion Week

All Saints Grey Coat With Skinny Jeans at Bristol Fashion Week This outfit is a little old as it’s the one that I wore to the Bristol Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2015 show about a month ago, but I hadn’t gotten around to posting it yet. Bristol Fashion Week is one of my favourite events as it’s really fun to see the other fashion bloggers and watch the models dance down the runway instead of just walk. This season it was hosted by Lucy Watson from Made in Chelsea and Mark Heyes, the famous stylist. Usually we see Andrew Barton take the stage with Mark, but it was a nice change. For my outfit, I wore my All Saints Lorie Tula Coat in Grey (buy it here in the sale and get an extra 20% off with the code EXTRA20) with my Citizens of Humanity Rocket Crop Jeans in Aura and my Topshop Peplum Top in Burgundy. I thought it would make a nice mix of colours and dimensions, pairing together the different hues and fits. I finished it with my Rebecca Minkoff Love Cross Body Bag in Denim (buy it here) and my Carvela Burgundy Booties. Overall, I think this is a look that I can definitely see being something that I gravitate towards more often. I’m really intro structured coats that have a really slim fit so they don’t overwhelm my frame, I think they pair nicely with skinny jeans and heels or boots. A Day With Me – What Do I Do?

I was extremely inspired by Emily from Cupcakes and Cashmere today when I read her blog post on her daily routine. I enjoyed reading it so much that I wanted to do my own post for you to enjoy reading as well. I know it’s always fun to look into people’s lives and see what they get up to! So, this is my day on Monday 19th January 2014. I hope you like it! 10am – I’m really not a morning person, so I tend to wake up around 10am due to being a night owl. Once I wake up, I lie in bed for about 5 minutes to adjust as it takes me sometime to come around, quickly glance at my emails via my iPhone to see what I’m dealing with for the day and then head to the bathroom. 10:10am – I wander to the kitchen to feed the cats and play with them for a little while and get a glass of water. 10:30am – After that I go back upstairs to my room to get my Macbook, turn it on and check out some other fashion bloggers for inspiration, sift through my emails to respond to important ones, check to see if I have some blog comments to approve and general dilly dally around the internet, switching my brain on. 11am – After getting used to being online, I will then start work properly. Looking Back At My 2014

I truly can’t believe just how fast the year has gone. It only seems like a few months ago that I was writing my 2013 review and looking back on the year, so to be doing it again for 2014 already, it seems crazy! I have no idea where the time goes these days! What can I say about 2014 though? It truly has been an incredible year for me! It’s one where I feel like I have truly become myself, accepted myself more and become a stronger person. One where I have felt strengths that I didn’t know I had, one in which I have come to a few realisations and truths about things in life and also one where I took my health into my hands properly and turned things around, working on my healthy eating more and fitness routine too. So things in 2014 really sort of came together for me and have gone well! In terms of blogging, I thought it might be a good idea to do a recap of 2014 with my best outfit photos from January to now and also include some photos of times that stood out for me. These are followed by a paragraph for each month, outlining how everything went. I haven’t done this type of post before, so I hope you like it! I truly wish you an amazing 2015 and my next post will be about my plans for the new year! Warning though, this is a big, image heavy post!
