The Importance Of Beauty Routines At Home

It’s no secret that since Covid-19 hit us all, around the entire world, things have not been the same. They have been increasingly difficult, especially for those of us who are in countries where the pandemic is rife and we’re in lockdown’s. For us here in the UK, we are in our third lockdown, and it means that no beauty salons, hairdressers, shops, restaurants etc. are open, and I don’t know about you, but it’s been very frustrating and difficult on my mental health. Not being able to just pop out for lunch and to browse the shops is an upsetting thing, but not being able to get your hair cut or anything else to make you feel better is even more upsetting to some of us. This is why it’s so important right now, for our mental health and well being, to focus on our own at home beauty routines, if that’s something you always enjoyed at salons. I know first hand that if I’m taking care of my body and making myself look as good as I can, then I feel a boost of positivity and happiness. There’s something to be said about looking in the mirror and liking your freshly washed hair and seeing how well you did your make-up. It really gives you good vibes and doesn’t make you feel so lethargic and down. It’s funny because people think that wellness and health comes from just eating healthy and exercising, and of course you do get a large amount from that, but taking care of your beauty routine does wonders for your health too (your mental…

A Beige Shacket With Blue Jeans

A Beige Zara Plaid Shirt Jacket Outfit Happy Tuesday! You probably remember this shacket outfit that I wore a little while ago, featuring the black and white shirt jacket from Zara, but I also wanted to share this Beige Shacket that I got from the brand too. I bought them at the same time and fell in love with the trend as they’re so comfortable! I paired this one with a Zara Knitted Crop Top, much like the grey version I had before, and a pair of my Citizens of Humanity Olivia Jeans. I finished it off with my Louis Vuitton Palm Springs Mini Backpack and my Dr. Martens Serena Fur Lined Boots to pull it all together. It’s a comfortable and casual look that’s easy for wearing when it’s chilly out, but not too cold. I’m keeping this blog post shorter for you today as I’m focusing on the outfit specifically, so let me know what you think of it in the comments below! Lorna xx.

Currently Craving Wish List: February 2021

Since the weather here in England, and across the United States, has been absolutely freezing and dismal, with either rain or snow, I wanted to try and warm things up a little bit with my Currently Craving Wish List. I’ve chosen a lot of pieces which are suitable for Spring here, and there’s some swimwear! Isn’t this bikini gorgeous? It’s by La Peche and it’s their Kiribati set in size medium. Click here for the bikini top and click here for the bikini bottoms. It’s such a nice quality and the print is really fun, perfect for those days at the beach or by the pool! Pomegranates and flowers aren’t something you often see together! The rope ties on the side are really sturdy, and the little metal logo just adds a little something extra to it! For sizing reference, I’m a 34D in Victoria Secret, and a size 28 in jeans. I took size medium and it does fit, but it’s more on the skimpier side, so it’s definitely not a full coverage bikini. I think this is flattering though and I really like it! I can’t wait for Summer! What do you think of it? I love it!     And now for the look book that I always include! I’ve actually ordered the Sundress rainbow dress and I can’t wait for that to arrive! I’ll be sharing it with you soon! Then there’s the blue Jacquemes bag! I have always had a little crush on their bags, but never got around to buying one. I included some Traveller Joggers from Abercrombie & Fitch too, as I need…

Photo Updates & Outfit Try Ons

Hi everyone! I hope that you’re all well and trying to get through the lock down as best as possible. I know it’s getting a little bit frustrating for me at the moment, and not being able to go out and shoot photos either, it’s quite stressful, so a lot of my photos are being taken in my bedroom at the moment. Anyway, I thought I would do a little photo update and include some things that have been inspiring me lately, and also some new purchases, as well as outfits I put together! Let me know what you think! The above photo is a section of my closet/wardrobe that I love the most! I put together a little area with my best pieces of clothing, and my boots! Most of the items in here are from Allsaints, Saint Laurent, Chloe, and more! I call it my drip closet, ha ha. As you know, I did a Gucci Double GG Belt Review a few years ago, on the 4cm version, which I own two of, but I recently purchased two of the smaller 2cm belts, in the light brown and gold, and black and silver. I think these are the perfect size for not being too overwhelming, but still making an impact. I’m obsessed with these belts and have already worn them! You can buy the brown here and the black here. I like organising my closet sections with a colour palette gradient, as you can see. These are my coats and jackets that are colour coordinated! I was trying on a brand new red dress that I got here…

The Black & White Plaid Shacket

The Plaid Shacket Outfit Sorry for my little absence the last couple of weeks, I have been really busy working on some other projects which I’m excited about. On an exiting note though, did any of you catch the snow? I finally saw snow for the first time in two years here! Ha ha! It was gone overnight, but I was excited to see it! I went outside at 6am just to take it all in. For this outfit, that I shot a few weeks ago, I was wearing this really cool Zara Black and White Plaid Shacket (which is a term used for shirt jacket) and I layered it over my Knitted Grey Bralet, also from the brand. My jeans are the AGOLDE Riley in Black, which I combined with my ASOS Western Belt, and then finished it all off with my Jimmy Choo Cruz Boots in Anthracite. I like the tough and masculine vibe that this look has, with the oversized shirt, and the looser fitting mom jeans, but I think it’s made feminine with the cropped top, and even though I’m wearing combat boots, they’re extra girly with the crystals on them, so it’s a good mix of feminine and masculine. What’s your opinion on this outfit I put together? And how are you all? Lorna xx. *This post contains affiliate links to help keep this blog running.

Currently Craving Wish List: January 2021

It’s time for my very first Currently Craving Wish List of 2021! I can’t believe that we’re already a week into January and Christmas was 2 weeks ago! The time is flying by! For this wish list though, I have included quite a few pieces that I absolutely adore, and also items that I have purchased! So, without taking up too much time on an intro, I’m going to jump straight into the products. First up, I wanted to include some earrings! As you know, I have my ears pieced twice in each lobe, and earrings are a passion of mine. I tend to spend ages looking for new ones that match, and then I wear them for a long while before changing it up. I always make sure that I wear real silver or gold though, as I have very delicate skin, so when I saw these gorgeous huggie earrings on the Au-Rate website, I was blown away by their beauty. I tend to love hoops, but I never go for large ones, I only like smaller, huggie style earrings, or just a little bit bigger. I’m also a huge fan of pearls, so a pair of huggie earrings with pearls hanging off? It doesn’t get much better than that!     Now we have my look book that I always create! It starts with this amazing Allsaints Balfern Suede Jacket in Tan. I recently purchased this from their website and I fell in love with it. The gold hardware and the rich, luxurious colour of the suede is stunning! I cannot wait to share this with you! I…

Christian Louboutin Ultimate Buying Guide

Christian Louboutin Ultimate Buying Guide A lot of you ladies have come to me over the past couple of years for Christian Louboutin advice. A post I did back in 2010 (click here to see post) about sizing advice and getting your Christian Louboutin shoes to fit, is still my most popular post on my blog to date and has almost 400 comments with questions and answers regarding his shoes. With that in mind, I thought it was about time that I did a new post which is more in depth about finding the right Christian Louboutin shoe for you and your feet, as well as letting you know how to get authentic pairs at cheaper prices (no fakes) and learning to be comfortable in them. Through my shoe life span I have had about 20 pairs of Louboutin shoes, but currently remain with 11 in my collection. I don’t wear them often at all on my blog as I class them as very special shoes and I rarely ever wear them for everyday wear. I usually only break them out on occasions that warrant fancy shoes. The main reason I don’t wear them often though is because of comfort. I find his shoes to be highly painful and it’s somewhat of an art form getting them to fit correctly without killing your feet. Msr. Louboutin himself doesn’t have any sympathy for the pain his shoes inflict as he once stated: I really have not so much sympathy. If Tina Turner and Prince’s back-up band can perform on stage in them for three hours, you can’t tell me they are…

The 6 Goals I want To Achieve In 2021

2021 is my year 2020 pushed, pulled, and stretched me to the point of breaking, and like I mentioned in another blog post that I wrote, it’s actually made me not take things for granted as much. Usually I don’t do the things I want to do because I’m the one stopping myself, either from fear and anxiety, or because I just assume that I can do it at any other time, however, last year taught me a big lesson. Being stopped from doing all the things I would usually do, and all the things I wanted to do, frustrated me and made me realise that life can be short. It’s a privilege to be here on Earth and live the way we do, and I should stop letting the anxieties in my head hold me back. Things have taken a turn for the worse again, and we’ve gone back into a national lock down for 6 weeks, so I’m still being stopped from my goals, but I’m not taking anything for granted, and as soon as things open up properly, I’m not waiting. I’m going to push myself into starting my life properly, not coasting, opening myself up, and living the year that I have dreamed of. Here are 6 goals of mine that I am going to achieve this year: Remember my dream of going to the United States? It’s been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember. I have always been afraid of flying, so I’ve never been on a plane, but this is the year I am getting on a plane by…
