Floral Dress At Burnham On Sea

A Hot Sunny Day At Burnham On Sea

I mentioned that I went to the beach a couple of weekends ago with Adam and my mum and her husband. Burnham On Sea is usually the beach we go to as it’s fairly close by, just an hour or so away. It was the first weekend where the sun was actually out and even though it was a fairly hot 28 celcius, it felt like 38! I hadn’t been that hot in years, it felt like I couldn’t breathe and I ended up quite burnt too. With that being said, it was really nice to enjoy some summer sun before it went back to feeling like autumn.

For my outfit, I wore my vintage Urban Renewal Floral Dress (which I wore in a similar way before here). I love this dress for super hot days as it’s made of a lightweight, breathable cotton so it’s incredibly comfortable. I actually wore it to Burnham On Sea a couple of years ago, with this exact same Rebecca Minkoff Mini Affair Bag too! I only chose to wear my Dolce Vita Karlo Slide Sandals instead this time, as well as my La Redoute Sun Hat (I’ve styled this hat before here), my Cloverpost Gloss Leather Wrap Choker and my Ray-Ban Mirrored Pink Sunglasses. So, the look is fairly similar to before, but with more modern pieces this time.

Speaking of the beach though, very soon I am headed to St. Ives again and I can’t wait! Make sure you’re following me on Instagram to get all the latest photos from my holiday. I’ve not been back there since Adam and I got engaged on the beach last July. And in other news too, I just recently cut my hair and had a fringe put back in (see here), so do let me know what you think of that too! Anyway, as always, tell me what you think of these photos and this outfit! I always love a good floral dress on the beach, there’s just something about it. Lorna xx.

What I Was Wearing
Dress – Urban Renewal (similar)
Sunglasses – Ray-Ban
Choker – Cloverpost
Sandals – Dolce Vita
Bag – Rebecca Minkoff
Hat – La Redoute (similar)

Burnham on sea!!!! It’s wonderful there! Do they still have the donkeys on the beach? We are leaving tomorrow for a midweek in the UK!
Oh sorry, you look beautiful in that dress!

I’m not actually sure I’ve ever seen the donkeys on the beach at Burnham, but they definitely have them in Weston Super Mare which is really close!

We need a lot more people to try on this outfit: we’re having 30-35 ºC all week. (None of them, of course, will look quite as good as you do.)

I can almost feel the heat coming off all of that sand just through looking at these photos. 😀

The dress is beautiful – it has such a pretty pattern. I love your hat though. It’s magnificent! So perfect for the heatwave (or series of mini heatwaves) that we are having.

I hope that you have a wonderful time in St Ives – I’m sure you will do, of course. 🙂

Thank you, Steven 🙂 I love the hat too, I thought it was quite nice with the dress. I’m sure St. Ives will be great! The weather is warming up again after all! 🙂

Yes, it’s getting really hot up here in Lincoln too. Not good on work days but very nice at the weekends. 🙂 I’m noticing that there seem to be a lot more dragonflies about this year than usual (I live quite close to a river).

I struggle a bit with sun hats and straw hats. 🙁 They don’t quite sit right on my head. I think my ears are in the wrong place for them because I often have to choose between having the hat sit too high and loose on my head or tucking my ears into them!!! LOL

Lol! I think I actually tuck my ears a bit into the hat, I don’t think they sit flush with the rim of it. I never get dragonflies around here, even though I live near a river, I hardly ever see any! You’re very lucky!

Oh the colour of the shades and dress have a particular combination that it just makes this look so very interesting. Nicely done !

This is one of the prettiest tops I’ve laid my eyes on. I adore that print and neckline!

Beautiful pics, Lorna! You look gorgeous in this print dress! These are the types of dresses I like to wear in the summertime too! 🙂 Glad you had a good day despite getting a little too much sun. Happy new week!

This dress is stunning and looks lovely on you Lorna. I love the sweet floral print. Sorry to hear you got sunburned, even though you’re so good about using SPF, as you’ve mentioned in previous posts. I guess you can never be too careful, especially with fair skin. On a positive note, I’m glad to hear you had a great time on the beach. Your outfit is beautiful and I love the sun hat, and the simple but chic choker necklace completes the outfit perfectly.

    Lots of love Saba xx
