Classic Wooden Watches From Wils Fabrik
It’s no secret that I love watches, so when I got the chance to collaborate with Wils Fabrik on my fashion blog, I couldn’t have been happier. I’ve always thought the concept of wooden watches was amazing and unique, and with these being as classic as they are, I jumped at the chance if I’m honest. I only ever promote products and brands that I genuinely love and respect, and these watches are just as beautiful as they look.
For those of you who aren’t familiar with Wils Fabrik, like I wasn’t, you will definitely be inspired by the brand. It was founded by Wilson, a guy that loves products which are made from natural materials. He was born in Hong Kong where he had access to the Asian wood sculptures which made him appreciate their beauty. With a strong passion for fashion and the watch industry in general, Wilson created Wils Fabrik in 2014 to combine fashionable watches with sustainable materials – he uses wood from FSC verified forests, which is great to hear.
The good doesn’t stop there though as Wilson knows that not everyone is fortunate enough to be able to live their dreams, so being inspired by Toms Shoes and their charitable work, Wilson shares his success with the less fortunate. Education is the only way to change a persons life, so every watch sold means that books and learning materials are donated to children who need them. Since the wood comes from Africa, Wils Fabrik held their first book donation there called #BuildALife and since being founded, over 9,000 books, stationary and more have been given to Cambodia, Korea, and Africa. How amazing is that? I was definitely inspired by the history of the brand.
Now getting to the Wils Fabrik Wooden Watches, I partnered with Adam for this post as well. We each have two of their watches in two different shades. I chose the Extrovery in Red Sandalwood and the Le Vegan in Maple, while Adam chose the Extrovert in Red Sandalwood and the Vegan in Maple. So my two watches are the smaller, more feminine sizes, while Adam’s are the larger, more masculine sizes. I love that the gold metal hardware really complements the wood colours, especially on the Red Sandalwood – that colour is my absolute favourite and I can guarantee you will be seeing it more in outfit posts to come. The price point on these smaller watches is amazing too, they’re on sale right now for only $89 while the retail value is around $150.
As you can see from the photos, the wooden watches come in a wooden box which has a slide out box inside it. The watches are wrapped around a little foam cushion so they’re secure and snug in the box. They have the Wils Fabrik logo printed onto the boxes and each one is unique and varying in colour, since every part of a natural fabric like wood is its own. One of the cooler things that you can have done is that each watch and box can be engraved if want it to be, with whatever you choose to have on it. I think that’s extremely special as there’s nothing like a personalised gift, is there?
They do many different watch designs in lots of different wood variations and styles, but I chose to have the classic woods with the white faces because I wanted something chic and pretty. I wear a lot of jewellery in the summertime as you know, so choosing a more understated watch, that is still unique and beautiful, was what I had in mind. I do tend to prefer larger watches, but because these Wils Fabrik wooden watches are quite bold and statement making, the smaller sizes suited me better, while the larger sizes worked well for Adam. You will be able to see his watches up close on his blog (Your Average Guy Style) soon too as he’s posting them next week! I would love to know what you think of the Wils Fabrik wooden watches! Please let me know!
