It’s All In The Pastels

Blush Pink Pastels With White

Pastel tones are always great for the warmer weather, aren’t they? Not only do they reflect the light and heat, but they always look fresh too. I’m never usually one that has worn double white, but it’s a combination (if you can call it that) that I have always loved the look of. Especially how polished and crisp it can look. So for the white on white base, I was wearing my Citizens of Humanity Rocket Crop Jeans in White with my ALLSAINTS Manson Vest in Porcelain White (which you just saw here). I then opted for my Tamara Mellon Nude Heels to add another shade of white, as well as my Chloe Nano Drew Bag in Off White, to really make sure that white and cream was a huge focal point of the outfit.

Since it was a little bit cold outside and I wanted just the smallest amount of colour, I decided to layer on my ALLSAINTS Aleida Blazer in Dusty Pink, just to bring it to life a little more and throw in some pastel tones. You have seen this blazer before (here) and it’s one of my all time favourites for the warmer months actually, so I’m really glad that I bought it. On a side note, I absolutely love these shoes – the colour, the shape, the suede… but one thing that bothers me a lot is because they are so high in heel height, and the heel of my foot is curved a lot, it always leaves a gap at the back which makes them look like they are too big. But still, they are too beautiful not to wear.

And just to let you know, on Saturday I am going to St. Ives! I literally cannot wait! You have to make sure you follow me on Snapchat and Instagram (username – LornaRaindrops) as I will be sharing my whole holiday with you all in real time. Remember last year when I went to St. Ives and shared my travel diary? I feel like the second time around will be even better, as long as the weather is good. I have two articles planned for while I’m away, but this is my last outfit post until I’m back as I wasn’t able to shoot any more. I will be back on Friday 8th, so hopefully I can publish something then for you! I hope my health will be ok for the holiday as that’s something that’s been worrying me, especially since it’s up and down. Anyway, let me know what you think of the outfit!

The double white works extremely well. 🙂 I loved the porcelain vest when you wore it before and these photos confirm it, in my opinion, as one of the absolute best tops in your collection. If there was a hint of cricket before then pairing it with more white keeps that in mind while the pink blazer subverts the hint somewhat. 🙂

As well all being in very attractive colours the vest, jeans and blazer all each have very distinctive, interesting and engaging shapes to them. I imagine this look attracted quite a few turned heads and second glances. It’s lovely. 🙂

I hope that you have a happy and healthy holiday with the correct weather for the season. 😀

    • June 29, 2016 / 1:38 am

Thank you, Steven 🙂 I’m really glad you like the whole outfit. That’s interesting that you think it’s one of the best tops in my collection as well – is that because of the shape? I think it’s definitely one of my favourites, but it’s hard to narrow them down! But I’m happy you like the pairing of everything together. I wasn’t 100% certain if I liked the top with the jacket, neither was Adam, so we tried a couple of others, but then reverted back to this one and decided it was the best one, ha ha 🙂

Yes, I think I like the vest so much mostly because of the unusual shape – but the colour and the pattern of it both play a role too. I think everything about it just works. 🙂 It looks very different with a jacket compared to without a jacket but both options look so very right. 😀

Oh, that’s interesting that you went back and forth a bit on choosing what to wear. 🙂 I didn’t expect that.

        • June 29, 2016 / 11:38 pm

Yeah, definitely did! Wasn’t certain on the stripes on the top with the jacket, but it turns out it worked. I’m really glad you love it so much though, I do too. Adam is definitely wrong in his dislike for it, ha ha 😀

Nope, not just yet, ha ha 😀

This look is absolutely beautiful on you Lorna, and the different shades of white with the blush jacket give a really summery feel to the outfit. I love the jewellery and accessories too, especially the layered bracelets. This is a very fashion-forward yet elegant look.

That’s great news about your planned trip to St. Ives, you’ve mentioned before how much you love it there. I wish and hope that you have no further health problems, so you feel your best, and get to enjoy the holiday fully.

    Lots of love Saba xx

I do love it there so much! It’s such a beautiful place, so I can only hope that the weather is lovely for it! Fingers crossed! It’s not been very pleasant as of late, so who knows.

Really happy you like my outfit too, Saba, that’s great! I didn’t even mention my bracelets in the post actually since they are ones I wear quite often, so I’m glad you noticed them. As for my health, I have a doctors appointment on Friday, so I will see how everything goes!

      • June 29, 2016 / 11:33 pm

It certainly looks very picturesque Lorna, although I’ve never been. I loved seeing your previous blog post with the pictures taken on the beach at St. Ives, when you wore the white Grecian dress. It was such a stunning outfit, and the coast looked really tropical. I would never have guessed it was a location in the UK!

I know what you mean about this awful weather we’ve been having. I got caught in the rain last Thursday and it was quite bad. I had just styled my hair nicely, but within five minutes of being out, I looked like a poodle. And that was after using an umbrella!

I hope all goes well at your doctor’s appointment this Friday, and you have a stress-free trip. You deserve it!

        Love Saba xx

        • June 29, 2016 / 11:42 pm

I know, it looks like Spain doesn’t it? It’s so beautiful there, it’s hard to believe the UK is capable of that, I know. It is very south though, almost as south as you can get, so that’s probably why. The further south you go towards France, it really picks up.

Weather today has been so bad! 12 degrees and pouring rain all the time, so it’s beginning to worry me about next week on my holiday. I really hope it’s ok. And thank you for the well wishes on my doctors appointment, fingers crossed!

P.S. – That made me laugh about the poodle hairstyle!

  7. June 28, 2016 / 10:04 pm

Oh, St Ives, so great! I am sure you will enjoy a lot there! I know what you mean by the size of the heel, but anyway, these Tamara Mellon shoes are amazing! I wear a half point, but it is not so easy to find, so I always end up buying shoes that are too big and wear a half insole to fix the gap. But anyway, if they are comfortable, this is what matters! I loved these pastel colors, beautiful trousers and jacket and amazing bag! You look so beautiful! Hope you have a very beautiful week!

I hadn’t thought about actually getting inserts for the shoes. I know people do that quite often, but I’ve never actually done it myself, only ever tried the heel grips which never worked well for me. I might have to give that a go! So happy you like the whole outfit with all of the colours. I hope you have a great week too!

This look is so fresh and beautiful Lorna! I love pastel colors for all seasons. I’m hosting my first ever Wednesday Linkup and hope you can stop by!

I can’t believe it’s still a little cold on your side because we’re already in the high 20s Celsius here in Canada or at least where I live. Have fun at St. Ives and bet you’ll have an amazing time!

I know, right? It’s freezing! Today was only 12 degrees and I’ve been in a big fluffy jacket all day, trying to keep warm. Plus it’s been pouring with rain, it’s just so silly! It’s almost July!
