First of all, I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who voted for me in the Bath in Fashion Blogger Awards. As you know I was one of the 10 shortlisted bloggers and it counts for a lot of the South West, I think it was Bath and the surrounding areas of 50 miles around (or something similar), so there were quite a lot of bloggers, so I was honoured to be shortlisted.
I actually didn’t expect to win at all, I was up against some great bloggers, two of my favourites being The Briar Rose Blog and Not Dressed As Lamb. Both of those ladies have amazing style and really pretty blogs. I was flattered that they both congratulated me on winning which was really kind of them. I was also up against The Flower Girl Blog and Stephanie Dreams, both are lovely as well. I didn’t get chance to meet the others or speak to them, but I’m sure they have great blogs as well.
This was my first time actually attending the fashion show, but it was wonderful. Instead of being like Bristol Fashion Week where they dance and have fun on the catwalk, it was more serious where the models just walked the runway. It was really beautiful to watch and had a great atmosphere! Towards the end I actually got grabbed from my front row seat really quickly by one of the officials and taken backstage, which is where I had to wait to go on stage when my name was announced as the winner. I unfortunately missed the finale of the show (which I wanted to see), but I was sort of shaking and in shock backstage thinking about having to go on the stage in front of 100’s of people. It was very daunting to put it lightly! I was handed my award by Rebekah Roy, who is a stylist to the stars, shook hands with some ladies and then left the stage so it wasn’t too frightening. I was worried I might have to make a speech! I also got given a spa voucher which I plan on using soon!
I’m still really shocked that I won and I haven’t really been able to take it in. I had no idea that so many of you would support my blog the way you did and cast so many votes! I was told roughly the region of votes I got and it was a LOT, somewhere around the 1000 mark, so I honestly can’t thank you all enough. This is the first time I have won any kind of award, or just anything in general, so for it to be something as big as this, I’m so excited. You can see all of the photos in this post and I will be posting my actual outfit post in a couple of days for you to see. Again, thank you everyone for voting for me. It really does mean the world to me. Lorna xx.
And here are some photos from the fashion show. I took photos of the prettiest outfits that I liked the most, not all of them as there were loads. The Assembly Rooms is a gorgeous place though, I have been going there since I was tiny.
