How adorable is this blazer? When I first saw it on the Choies website (after being asked by them to style something) I thought it matched my personality perfectly. I love little birds, squirrels and woodland animals and being around nature in general as you know, so it’s the perfect choice for me! I got this in a size small, but since Choies is from China, it’s actually a bit small on me and I probably should have got the size medium, but it’s got a little bit of stretch to it to make it fit me ok. I love the idea of blazers and jeans together, it’s one of my favourite combinations, so I thought pairing the woodland blazer with my new Genetic Denim Shya jeans would be a great choice. The rips and distressing on these combined with the lighter wash make these jeans a good match to tone the look down. I think if I went with a darker wash jean, it would look too put together and smart and I wanted a causal ease to my outfit, plus these jeans are incredibly soft and comfortable.

Now on to my accessories, I paired the jeans and blazer with my Topshop Gabbi metallic toe cap heels in black just to go with the colour scheme. The blazer has pops of black on the inside and at the sleeves, so it tied in nicely. I’ve worn these shoes a lot of times, as well as my nude version of them, and I absolutely adore them! They are the perfect heel height and I find them comfortable as they don’t slip off my feet much like normal heels tend to do. To add some colour to my look, I went with my new Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAB in Port, which you just saw in my previous outfit post. It’s an amazing bag as I love the structure and the deep burgundy it has. It has more of a rich jewel tone to it and can be worn with a shoulder strap like I did last time or carried by the handles. I will be sharing it with you soon though in a proper post, so stay tuned! Finally, for my jewellery, I wanted to keep things a little understated as I had a great print with the blazer, so I only opted for one bracelet and chose my River Island iridescent beetle bracelet. I thought it added some liveliness to the outfit and just made things that little bit more classy!

Speaking of bracelets, I was browsing online at Traveller, which is a holiday shop, and they had the most amazing watch! It has a burgundy rubber bracelet and a silver/white face. You know how much I love burgundy and have been looking for more burgundy bracelets, but I was thinking if I had a watch that was burgundy, I wouldn’t need the bracelets! The best part about this O-Clock silicone watch is that it’s in the sale, so I might just need to snap it up! I think I am becoming a bit addicted to watches though, I’ve developed quite a little collection over the past two years or so! It’s always so tricky during Autumn, there’s always so many pieces that I want to purchase! Do you find that as well during this time of year? There’s lots of gorgeous jackets and coats that come out and then you need boots and accessories like scarves and jewellery to go with it! Anyway, back to my outfit, what do you think of it? Leave me a comment and let me know! I always love reading them and getting ideas!

Some New Autumn Clothes & Accessories Purchases

gold bracelets nail polish topshop river island Some New Autumn Clothes & Accessories Purchases

I haven’t done a new purchases post in quite a while, so I thought it was about time that I did. Over the past month or so I have acquired a few new things while trying to stock up my Autumn wardrobe! You probably already know by now that Autumn is my favourite time of year and I can never get enough jackets and coats to suit the season. I’m also very much addicted to accessories in the form of jewellery and anything sparkly!

Above I have 3 new little things that I got as I am loving gold at the moment. I have a nail polish from Topshop in a pale and pearly gold which I think is absolutely gorgeous! I managed to finally stop biting my nails about 2 months ago so I can’t wait to start painting them! I purchased the other 2 bracelets from River Island when I fell in love with them. I’m a sucker for gold chains and had been wanting one as a bracelet for some time. I’m not really a fan of the bracelets with clasps though as it’s pretty impossible to put them on and off yourself, so when I saw this one with a t-bar closure, I knew it would be perfect! Finally, that brings me to the beetle bracelet, isn’t it amazing? The coloured stones were what originally attracted me to the bracelet in the first place as I love rainbows, but I think the giant beetle on the front of it gives it so much character! It’s gorgeous!

topshop mint green toe cap heels Some New Autumn Clothes & Accessories Purchases

I have 2 pairs of the Topshop metallic toe cap heels already, so these now make a third! I own the black and silver combination as well as the nude and silver, but now I have here a pair in mint with silver! These style shoes are amazing because they aren’t too high, they are about 3 inches in height and they fit securely on my feet so I don’t have to do any sock trick to stretch my shoes or putting tape in my shoes to keep my feet in. They are the perfect fit! I also think mint is a pretty shade of pale green, it might be more suited to Spring, but I’m not too worried! The best part about these shoes? I won them on eBay for only £7 and they were brand new! It doesn’t get better than that does it?

Zara grey black wool coat jacket Some New Autumn Clothes & Accessories Purchases

This gorgeous thick jacket or lighter weight coat is from Zara. I purchased it last month when I fell in love with it online. I was in need of a new grey coat as the only one I have is about 4-5 years old, so this one really fits the bill! I like the black accents it has on it and the woolen collar. It’s definitely a gorgeous coat and I can’t wait to wear it with my jeans and heels when it gets cool enough. Do you like it?

Gone With The Humming Birds

This is the outfit that I wore out to lunch with my boyfriend on the weekend. You may have noticed by now that it’s sort of become a tradition to go out to lunch together when he’s here, it’s just something we love to do. I wore my new Humming Bird Burgundy Skirt from ASOS for the day as it was so hot, I needed something to cool me down. I had to wear this really long dress vest underneath though because whenever wind comes along, the skirt flips up and I would have been showing myself to everyone walking by ha ha. Thank goodness I did have it on because my skirt definitely blew up numerous times!

I paired the Humming Bird Skirt with my new River Island Studded Sandals, a Miss Selfridge Black Dress Top, various Gold Bracelets and a Horns Ring from ASOS, a Krystal Swarovski Tear Drop Gem Ring in Fuchsia, my Topshop Crystal Pave Bunting Collar Necklace my Mulberry Mini Taylor in Deer Brown and my Ray-Ban Aviators with Blue Mirrored Lenses. I always love the combination of burgundy and black, as I’m sure you know by now, so I think finishing it off with loads of accessories is always the best way.

On a separate note, today I am actually on my way to Buckingham Palace to a special exhibition for press. It’s in celebration of the Queens coronation and I am going to see the dresses, jewels, carriages etc that were present on the day of her coronation. I am very very excited because it means I actually get to go inside Buckingham Palace and that’s always been a dream of mine! I can’t wait to share that experience with you all very soon! Make sure you follow me on Instagram (@LornaRaindrops) for live photo updates! Anyway, what do you think of my outfit? Comment and let me know!

It’s A Denim Dungarees Thing Overall

lorna burford denim overalls dungarees suspenders Its A Denim Dungarees Thing Overall

(Dungarees – Exact, Top – Exact, Shoes – Similar, Bracelets – Similar)

Dungarees or overalls were incredibly popular in the 80′s and when I was a child in the 90′s, but they since phased out of fashion. I used to wear dungarees when I was about 1-4 years old as apparently I loved them, although I am thinking this was something to do with my mums love for them, ha ha. But, I am so glad they have come back into fashion! As with everything that makes its way back into our lives, it gets updated and changed, so that’s why I love these. I got these G-Star denim dungarees in the sale at ASOS online last week and fell in love with them. I love the fact that they are skinny and slouchy with bracer/suspender style straps instead of the classic full denim back. This new twist on the dungarees is perfect! Not to mention the wash of these G-Star overalls is amazing. It’s so blue and faded, but with whiskers and acid washing in all of the right places.

I am not really a fan of pairing denim dungarees with jumpers or long sleeve tops underneath as I find that can look quite dated, so the way I like to wear them is with a bandeau top. I also bought this white bandeau top from ASOS with the order, it was only £5 so it was a great deal. I didn’t include it in Monday’s new purchases post, but I think it suits these dungarees really well and gives off that easy going ready for summer vibe that I like. I was really conscious about wearing it though because I’m never the type of girl that likes to show off my stomach or back too much because I’m not comfortable with it, so I felt quite naked here, but since my stomach is covered by the front of the overalls, that was fine. I just need to get used to the back or possibly purchase a bandeau top that’s longer and not cropped.

I kept everything else really simple with the white lace up trainers/sneakers which I purchased from River Island years and years ago (which have also remained incredibly white considering their age!) and some variations of gold and bronze bracelets which were bought at ASOS as well, last year. I think keeping things minimal sometimes is definitely the way forward. It helps make certain parts of the outfit the focal point and I wanted the concentration to be on these G-Star dungarees. I didn’t think they would work very well for me at first, but when I tried them on I completely fell in love with them! They are just beautiful! I did take these photos during the evening when it was a little cooler, but I was still really hot in this outfit ha ha, thanks to this heatwave! So, what do you think of my outfit? Do you like the dungarees? Comment and let me know!
