A Horse Coin Blouse With A Corduroy Skirt

A Horse Coin Blouse With A Corduroy Skirt Happy Thursday! It’s really starting to feel like Spring isn’t it? I’m seeing all of the crocuses and blossoms appearing, which is exciting! After Autumn, Spring is my favourite time of year, so I can’t get enough of the beautiful blooms that will be gracing our eyes very soon – I’ve got some exciting photoshoots planned with the scenery too, so hopefully those go to plan. For this outfit, I wore a new Topshop Horse Coin Shirt that I bought last week, which I styled with my Topshop Corduroy Beige Skirt, finished off with my Gucci GG Belt. To keep with the theme of neutral and brown/beige, I went with my Jimmy Choo Romy Heels in Brown and my Mulberry Small Darley in Oak, as I think all of these shades complement each other really well. I wouldn’t usually wear a shirt like this as it’s designed with a neck tie to have a pussy bow at the collar, but I never wear my shirts buttoned all the way to the top as I find it to be unflattering on me, so I went for an open button with the tie hanging down, which I think gave it a much more casual appearance and I like that. The corduroy fabric of the skirt is toned down too making it even more casual, but dressing these pieces up with the accessories brings it together and makes it formal as well, giving it a more versatile vibe. I wanted to keep this blog post a bit shorter this time as I’ve been super busy…

Golden Hour Sunsets In The Snow

A Golden Hour Photoshoot In The Snow Happy Monday everyone! The days just seem to fly by and we’ve already gone mid way through February, it’s madness. As I mentioned in my previous Valentine’s Day outfit, Adam and I had simple and easy plans to celebrate, and that’s what we did. As always with me though, it didn’t turn out quite as we hoped, ha ha. I had woken up with a migraine so had to take Nurofen Plus, which gives me stomach ache. We were almost late to our booking at Cosy Club, the food had issues as the waitress had tipped my chips all over the table and in my drink, then the mayonnaise was full of water. It was quite awkward, but oddly the food this time gave us both stomach ache, which doesn’t usually happen, so walking around town to walk that off was interesting, then my headache started coming back so I needed more Nurofen. We headed into a few shops, went to Swoon the gelato shop like we wanted, browsed the furniture, then went to the pet shop to get some nuts, however the pet shop was not there… Apparently it’s closed now, so we were walking about trying to get nuts to feed the animals at the park. We eventually found some, and then arrived at the park near dusk so almost all the animals had gone to bed, ha ha. We managed to see two squirrels though and a couple of magpies, but we scattered some nuts all around anyway for the morning when they wake up. By the evening at home,…

Valentine’s Day In Blush Pink

Allsaints Gemini Metallic Pink Jumper Outfit First of all, Happy Valentine’s Day! I know not everyone celebrates it, but if you’re not in a relationship, that doesn’t matter either! It’s a day for love and appreciation and that reaches far beyond your relationship status, especially since we have Galentine’s Day now too, for the girls to spend together! I always feel like love is so important, it truly is what makes the world go round and what makes us happy, so make sure your loved ones know how you feel, whether that’s family, friends, or a significant other, and of course not forgetting our pets! Now for me, I’m not usually too fussed with doing anything on Valentine’s as I always believe in showing how you feel as often as possible, not just once a year on a set day because that’s the rule, however, Adam had persuaded me this year to do something and I’m super excited for it. This may sound really lame to a lot of you, but we’re going to spend it doing a completely normal day, but without work! I know that might sound strange, but whenever we go out on the weekends (we do long distance so we only spend some weekends together) it’s always work related, so even if we go to town to have lunch, we always have to do a photoshoot before we eat, sometimes two (for both of us), as well as be on social media, so we never get to fully relax. With that in mind, Adam said lets have a day of no photos and no social media.…

Neutrals At Dior

A Neutral Monochrome Outfit Outside Dior In London Who’s excited for Valentine’s Day? I can’t believe how quickly it’s come round actually, but I’d love to know how you’re spending it! I have a Valentine’s Day post coming up on the 14th, on the actual day, where I will explain what Adam and I are doing, and you can see my subtle, yet appropriately romantic outfit which I’ve saved up for the occasion. I was inspired to talk about Valentine’s Day though purely because of these photos, for some reason when I look at them, I get a romantic nostalgia that comes to mind. I don’t know if it’s because of the pretty Dior boutique in the background with the orange glow from the lights, or the little pink decorations in the window, or the fact that I look back on these photos with fond memories which automatically makes me feel romantic. I can’t put my finger on it, so I’m just going to say it’s a mix of all three of those things! Now I mentioned in my previous post a few days ago (the Senreve Aria belt bag outfit) that I had worn these jeans to London, and this is what I wore for that trip for shopping and travel. So the pieces here are my Topshop Grey Long Belted Coat (which you saw here, but this Mango version is super similar) and I layered it over my favourite Zara White Fluffy Jumper, which I also live in. The jeans as I mentioned are the L’AGENCE Margot Skinny Jeans in Graphite, and as I said, I live in…

Sequins In The Snow

Sequin Bodysuit With Vintage Jeans In The Snow First off, I wanted to say sorry for the mini hiatus, things got on top of me for a while and I couldn’t keep up with the schedule – it’s just been so busy! I have definitely been enjoying the snow though! I hear that it was only the south that got it here in the UK and the midlands/up north didn’t get anything, which surprised me as that never happens! We started getting the snow on Thursday, late afternoon, which was good because Adam and I had planned a day of shoots on the Thursday to get a lot of work done for him, and we timed it just right! Come Thursday night, it was getting pretty deep and blizzarding until Friday afternoon. For those of you who follow me on Instagram (@LornaRaindrops) you will have seen all of the snow stories I put up, and how amazing it’s been! I usually worry about the snow as it disrupts a lot of things, but this weekend turned out to be perfect, planning ahead, and no train cancellations or delays for the Sunday. I’ve also found that it brings out the best in people, especially when it comes to random acts of kindness. Our neighbours were kind enough to shovel our pathway and grit it, without us even knowing, then others were kind enough to shovel the road for everyone that lives here. Then the local man who uses a wheelchair always goes out with his dog on his errands and my mum and I saw him stopped by the pavement, as…

Faux Fur Coat With A Corduroy Skirt

The Zara Faux Fur Coat With A Cord Skirt And Boots I hope everyone is well and had a lovely weekend! Monday is here again and it’s a fresh start to the week, and comes with it a bit of a new fresh look on my photos and how I am editing them. We shot this look at Lansdown Crescent and the location is just beautiful! It’s so luxurious and reminds me a lot of the older era that was cobblestones with horse and carts over a century ago here in Bath. With that in mind, I wanted to wear an outfit that was suitable for the location, along the same colour scheme, but of course fashionable at the same time, and this is what I came up with. I opted to wear my favourite Zara Blush Pink Faux Fur Coat that I got a few months ago. I originally thought it was cream as the photos show that, but it’s a subtle pink in real life and I love it more. I layered it over a Fluffy Brown Jumper, which is also from Zara, as I like these warm, neutral tones together. For the other pieces, I chose this Topshop Cord Skirt in Beige as I rarely wear skirts that often, especially not in corduroy, and this one turned out to be the perfect neutral! Plus, it’s in the sale right now for only £15, so it’s a bargain. I then topped that off with my Gucci GG Belt in Tan, as I think that just pulled it all together in the middle, and finished it off with my…

Twinning With Adam In Calvin Klein

Seeing Double In Calvin Klein Sweatshirts Adam and I like to dress similarly sometimes as we have a very similar personal style to one another. Since he does blogging too for menswear, he suggested that we do a joint photoshoot and we got my mum to take the photos. It actually ended up taking a long time to get the shots right as we kept laughing, something would go wrong, my mum wouldn’t focus it correctly etc., it was eventful, ha ha! Who knew having two people could be twice as much work! Anyway, we decided to match in our Calvin Klein Logo Sweatshirts, so I went for a Heather Grey (click here to buy it) and Adam had a Charcoal shade. I went for my GRLFRND Candice Skinny Jeans in Love Hangover and Adam went for the Frame Le Skinny de Jeans in Westwell. Then for the shoes, we both opted for our Golden Goose Superstar Sneakers as we have very similar pairs. We do actually own the same jeans, so we could have gone matching entirely, but we thought it was best to opt for different colours so that it wasn’t too much – we don’t want to be identical twins after all. I actually enjoyed doing a double shoot so much that we did another one a few weeks ago as well, which was very Autumn inspired, but I will be sharing that one after Christmas since I have so much content already planned for the rest of this month. Sometimes we often think about matching other pieces we have, but when the items have sold out…

A Little Bit Of Christmas Camo

A Bit Of Christmas Camo In Town How is it already a third of the way through December? It’s crazy! And to think that Christmas is only 16 days away… That’s just over 2 weeks and I’m not even prepared in the slightest, ha ha. We have our decorations up, but that’s about as far as that goes! I’m doing a December life update in my next post, as requested to keep that a monthly feature, so I will talk more Christmas-y things then, but for this outfit post, this is my first one with a Christmas theme that I am sharing with you. I’m mixing it in amongst my Autumn photos that I have to publish, so it’s going to be an eclectic mix of different backgrounds until December is finished! These photos were taken in Abbey Square in Bath which is the courtyard area outside the Bath Abbey and just outside the Roman Baths, so it’s right in the centre of town. They have taken to putting the giant Christmas tree here for the last two years, which I think is a great idea as at night time it looks magical, however since it is the most busiest part of town, it’s really hard to get photos without any people in… Usually I go for quieter locations or spend loads of extra minutes waiting for people to pass, so I can get a clear shot, but that wasn’t possible with these if I wanted the tree. However, I think having all of the people in the background, when it’s Christmas themed, really gives it an atmosphere and shows…
