A March Life Update

Hi everyone! It’s been a little while since I did a life update as I skipped February entirely due to not much going on and not much to report, so I thought I would fill out March a bit more instead. I’m super annoyed at Instagram at the moment because my account seems to have a glitch on it meaning I can’t post any new photos at all, which has annoyed me. I’ve not been able to post since Thursday and they said they’re looking into it, but so far no luck! I’m also heading to Wales in a few days time to go for my tattoo consultation, which I can’t wait for! It should be in late April that I end up getting the tattoo, and I finally know what I’m having! The tattoo you can see on my collarbone is just a temporary one from Paperself, but I will be getting a collarbone one at some point, depending on how painful my wrist one is and if I can handle it, ha ha. Regarding things I’ve watched recently, I definitely recommend After Life and The Order on Netflix. Both of those shows have been really good! I just finished the first season of Working Mom’s as well with my mum, and we liked that. Sex Education was something I enjoyed too, great series and set in Wales which was stunning! So those are 4 things to look up on Netflix. If anyone has any other suggestions for me to watch, I would love to hear! A few things that I have purchased, but haven’t taken photos of so…

A January Life Update

Wow, January has been eventful so far! I’ve got so much to share with you this time around, and it’s all pretty exciting, so I wont waste too much time on an intro and will jump straight into it! This month the music I am loving is ‘Lissie – Go Your Own Way‘ as I think that’s an amazing cover! Her voice is so raw and talented, I also love ‘The Midnight – Vampires‘ as I love a good saxophone! TV wise, Adam and I found an old show called ‘Last Man Standing’ with Tim Allen in it, which we are absolutely loving! Movie wise, I haven’t seen any this month, so I can’t comment, neither have I read any books, so nothing to report on that front, so lets get to the events and things I have been up to, as well as new purchases which I know you all love! I’m still very much into belts at the moment and I picked up this western inspired one from ASOS for a bargain price! Can you believe it’s only £16 and it’s amazing. Huge fan of wearing it at the moment! I didn’t yet own any belt with a silver buckle, so this is great. Click here to buy it. Huge recommendation for this one! A few other new pieces from Revolve here. I’m wearing the Lovers + Friends Ever Bodysuit in Gunmetal (buy it here), but it’s more like a gold, and I have the GRLFRND Karolina High Rise Skinny in Last Dance as well (buy them here). I’ve really been feeling vintage washes lately and even though…

Some Current Inspirations, Changes & New Things

Happy Christmas Everyone! Happy Christmas Eve everyone! I know I’ve said it a lot, but I can’t believe how fast the time has gone towards the end of this year, Christmas has really crept up on me and because I’ve been so busy, I’ve not really gotten into the Christmas spirit just yet. I’m hoping that will change tomorrow though on Christmas day! How are you all feeling about it? For this blog post, I had planned on doing a roundup of my week with the festive celebrations, but I never ended up doing anything like that as I had other things to do instead, so I’ve made this blog post into a round-up of the current things I am doing. I know I already did a December life update, but this is different as it’s including changes that are coming for 2019 as well as some other updates that I missed out on the last one because they hadn’t happened yet. So, I will get to it! The shot above is of my new Senreve Belt Bag that I got in Burgundy from Shopbop a couple of weeks ago. It’s SO cute! I love that you can wear it numerous ways. I was choosing between the burgundy and the brown (you might have seen on Instagram with the poll) and went for this option as I have a lot of brown bags as it is. I have an outfit of this look to share with you soon. If you like it, you can click here to shop it. This isn’t me, obviously, but it’s a girl I have been…

A December Life Update

As you enjoyed my November Life Update post, I have turned it into a monthly series as requested. I also got a few requests on my IG Stories as well to include more inspirational things, music, movies etc. as well as general interests in the month. I was even asked to do a weekly schedule, which I did attempt, but since I spend a lot of days at home, it didn’t really work out so I thought I’d just include a few bits in here from a few random days instead. You also really loved my at home try on series which I share to Instagram, so I am including it here again, monthly, for you! So, lets get to it! Books – At this time of year I love reading when I have downtime, and one book I have been wanting to check out is ‘Sapians – A Brief History Of Humankind‘ as it seems so intriguing! I might buy some more Ancient Aliens books too as I’m really into history with theories of aliens! Music – Oddly I’ve been loving the Little Mix – Woman Like Me song, as well as Shawn Mendes – In My Blood acoustic. There’s a few good songs at the moment, but those two I love. P.S. – The lip colour I am wearing above is OMG by Bare Minerals (click here). These are a few pieces I was inspired to buy, just from seeing recent looks from a few bloggers like LornaLuxe, but in my own way. I saw this faux fur coat on Zara in the sale for half price and…

A November Life Update

I haven’t given you a life update since September, so it’s been almost two months into a lot of changes, and I thought I would fill you in. For this one, I’m including photos that I snap as well, as I find that always makes it interesting! Some of these are from my Instagram and some of them are just from my camera roll on my phone, so they haven’t been shared anywhere yet. First of all, since I announced that I was quitting my fashion blogging career and making some changes, I’ve been so much happier! I’ve felt a lot more relaxed and calm, even though I have been finishing up collaborations I had in place, I’ve felt like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders, so it was definitely the right decision. It means I can post more content that I want to, like updates and whatever else I want as I have a more clearer schedule. I definitely don’t regret it! Secondly, which is what the photo above is about, I’m getting a second lobe piercing soon. I’m just waiting for the piercing salon to get the little white gold moon studs in that I want. I’m actually really nervous, and already explained that to the owner of the shop, and he’s understanding. I have my ears pierced already and I got that done (twice actually as the first time I let them close over) with a gun machine, so I wasn’t too freaked out, but since those aren’t sterile now, they pierce with needles and that’s what’s scaring me so much since I’m so phobic. With…

A Current Life Update

It’s been a little while since I gave you a life update and filled you in on the things that have been going on, so I thought I would take some time out from my usual schedule and write this post. The last personal post I wrote was on my Ehlers Danlos Syndrome Life Hacks and I am pleased to report that it’s been one of my most viewed articles every day, and has been shared by the EDS community since it went live, having amassed over 8,500 views in 2 months, which I am so pleased about. I genuinely hope it’s helping some of you with symptoms, and thank you so much for the support. • So, where am I at? I started my physiotherapy sessions a couple of weeks ago and have been to two sessions so far, as well as doing at home exercises. I was extremely nervous at first and deeply concerned about exercising due to such bad experiences in the past with the chronic fatigue, but as I’m working with an experienced trainer for hypermobility, the exercises I am doing are strengthening ones which are targeting specific joints, so the hope is that over the months my muscles will start getting stronger and keep my joints from subluxing and causing pain. I’m getting on with it ok, but it’s really tough, I wont lie, and some of the exercises are quite difficult, but it’s all new to me and I’m still learning, but so far so good. I’m determined to help myself in every way possible. • My eating hasn’t been so good either lately,…

My Perfect Blonde Natural Balayage Hairstyle

A Perfect Natural Blonde Balayage Hairstyle Can you believe it’s been just over a year since I had my hair cut? And around two years since I had it dyed? It’s been crazy! I’ve always loved having my hair blonder (it’s a dark natural blonde) or getting a fresh style, but the last couple of years have been quite challenging with the nerve pain as I regularly have a sore scalp that feels like it’s burning when you touch it. The past few times that I went to the hairdressers, I ended up getting burned because of the hairdryer and the pulling on my hair was too much for me, it resulted with me having watering eyes at one point because of the pain, so I’ve been put off going. As much as I disliked my hair (it was looking like Hagrid) I was too nervous to go to a salon and have it done. To cut a long story short, I’ve finally had it cut and dyed! I’ve known Lucy for quite a while as she used to train at the hairdressers I used to go to, so over the past however many years she’s become a fantastic hairdresser and is highly skilled in the balayage department (you only have to check her Instagram to see that). I knew she did mobile hairdressing and worked one day a week in a salon somewhere else, so I thought I would message and explain the problem with my scalp and see if she could do what I wanted. I was delighted when she said it wouldn’t be a problem, so I…

A Day Trip To London

London In Springtime & Some Updates If you follow me on Instagram (@LornaRaindrops) then you will know that I took a trip to London on Tuesday 17th with Adam for a very important reason. I’ve mentioned briefly in some posts that I’ve been waiting to see a specialist called Dr. Alan Hakim and his waiting list was extremely long due to his popularity in his field, so I waited patiently for the day to arrive, but I was also filled with nerves. The night before was just a bundle of anxiety and preparation for me, and then once we were actually on the train and travelling, I settled down a lot more. We had to go to the Hospital of St. Mary and Elizabeth for my appointment at 2pm, so we had a little time beforehand to walk around and take in the sights before getting a taxi. I don’t go to London that often and when I used to it was always for business trips and rushing around so I haven’t done a whole lot of exploring the architecture before. I only managed to take a couple of snaps as I was extremely preoccupied, but I think they turned out really pretty and I wanted to share them with you. Anyway, the trip was a complete success (in more ways than one) as I now finally have a diagnoses of what’s wrong with me and why I am suffering so many symptoms. It’s only taken 30 years! I plan on writing a big health blog post all about this on the 26th, so I need a few days to…
