Saying Goodbye To Summer And Welcoming Autumn

I have noticed that the past few days have been increasingly colder and I am in need of a jacket or jumper as well as having the heating on indoors. Already I am beginning to miss the boiling hot Summer days that I spent in the park and just being able to enjoy the sunshine that we don’t often see here in England. However, I am sort of welcoming our transition into Autumn as it’s one of my favourite seasons. It means I get to start layering my clothes and wearing my cute jackets and scarves as well as getting to see the amazing Autumn hues of red, orange, yellow and brown. I really do think that it’s the most prettiest season! There is something about that crisp fresh air which is quite sharp and cold in your throat, but it’s not too cold to be unbearable. Above is a collage of my favourite photos from the months just gone and below is a collage of some of my favourite photos from the Autumns we have previously had. Are you ready to say goodbye to Summer and hello to Autumn? I’m not sure I’m completely ready, but I don’t think I have a choice! Anyway, I hope you have a wonderful weekend with fun plans! Don’t forget to catch my live stream on my sidebar for the London Fashion Week shows as well, I have watched a few already!

I Just Wanted To Say…

I just wanted to make a bit of a personal post as I was inspired by Elizabeth’s post on her blog here. It got me thinking that I feel exactly the same way. Blogging really is just a place that bloggers, like myself, get to share a part of their life with their readers. That’s exactly what I am doing, I’m sharing just a small snippet of my life as well as the things I like and I am very happy that you all appreciate it and love to follow me while enjoying my posts and my style 🙂 Blogging is like an outlet for me, I honestly couldn’t live without it and you all make my day when I read your comments and when I see the numbers of my views/stats going up and up. It’s a really nice feeling to know that everything I do on my blog is responded to in a good way. I originally started out blogging because I wanted a place where I could share my personal style, likes and dislikes with people and hopefully connect with some of you in the way of having similar style and a love for fashion. I was initially very scared because it’s a daunting process putting yourself out there. It does make you very vulnerable and very open to criticism and abuse (which I have been through before) and that’s why at first I wasn’t making my blog personal, I was just keeping it about fashion and my style. Now though, I am a very strong person and I have grown a lot. I’m strong minded, I…

It’s My Birthday =)

It’s my 24th birthday today 😀 I was worried things wouldn’t go very well because it always pours with rain on my birthday. It did this morning, however it stopped by the time we went out for my late lunch meal. I was able to wear the outfit I planned and things actually went smoothly for a change, ha ha. I will share with you in another post on Sunday my outfit and some of the food and my gifts etc, this is just a quick post as I wanted to show this adorable card that my boyfriend made me. Those of you from England like me will probably know Zingy from the EDF Energy adverts on TV, I love him, but you can’t buy him which upsets me, so I’m very happy my boyfriend went to the trouble of making him for me. Isn’t he adorable? His head bounces too! I’ve also included a preview of my presents below and my birthday cake! My mum and I baked it ourselves yesterday, dairy free of course, and I put currants in one side for me and there is jam in the other side 🙂 Also, thank you to everyone who has been sending me birthday wishes via FaceBook, Twitter and Instagram! I really appreciate it! It’s very kind of you! (Follow me on Twitter, Bloglovin and Facebook)

Baking Dairy Free Currant Cookies

One thing I am not very good at, and I admit with honesty, is cooking. I am completely useless at it. I usually forget ingredients, cook things wrong or over cook them. I’m utterly useless, but one thing I don’t seem to struggle with is these cookies! I have baked them a few times with my mum by following this recipe, however I substitute regular butter for a dairy free option like Vitalite and I also substitute the chocolate chips for currants, so they are completely dairy free. The first time I found the recipe, I was skeptical because every batch of cookies I’ve made in the past were never chewy or moist, they were always more like biscuits, but these are one of the best cookies I’ve ever made myself! I did mess them up one time though, that was by melting the butter too much, you just need to make it moist so it’s like paste rather than liquid, if you liquify it, it doesn’t work at all, as I found out. They should mention that in the recipe, but they don’t. So what are some of your favourite cookie recipes? (Follow me on Twitter, Bloglovin and Facebook)

Thank You’s & What Do You Want To See More Of?

I decided that I want to say a big thank you to my readers/fans who comment the most on my blog. So at the end of each month I’m going to give a shout out to the top 5 people who have commented the most during that month and include a link to their blog. The shout out will be within the text of one of my posts as I really do appreciate all of the comments you guys leave me. I read every single one and I reply to every one as well, so I thought it would be nice to say some thank you’s from now on! 🙂 Also, I know I posted this poll before, within my outfit post, but I thought I should include it in a post of its own because I think some of you may have missed it before. I’m interested in knowing exactly what you would like to see more of on my blog. Since I started The Fashion Supernova, for everything non personal, I’m keeping Raindrops of Sapphire personal, so what would you like more of? I know outfit posts are in demand so I will try to take more photos of those (it’s a little difficult as blogging is my job from home) but I will definitely try! But for the posts in between outfits posts, what do you want to see? Let me know in the poll below and you can comment with your ideas as well 🙂

My New Venture – The Fashion Supernova

I mentioned to you before that I have been working on something exciting and would share it with you soon, that time has now come where I feel like I’m ready to announce it and I hope you all like it! I’ve been working on a new blog! It’s called The Fashion Supernova and it’s about everything fashion! The reason why I have started this blog is because Raindrops of Sapphire, to me, is my personal style and everything else to do with my life blog, but I also love writing about other fashion things like magazine editorials, celebs, new trends etc and it wouldn’t make much sense to do that on this blog as it doesn’t really tie in with what I want it to be about anymore. That’s when I decided that The Fashion Supernova should be born. I created the blog and have been working on it for just over a week now (even though I have had the idea for many months). The name combines two things that I am in love with, fashion and space. Not many of you will know, but I have a sort of hidden obsession for everything about space and astronomy and supernovas are actually my favourite thing to do with that. They are a massive explosion which can wipe out galaxies and they are amazingly beautiful! But combining that word with fashion made sense to me because I wanted the site to be sort of like an explosion of fashion. So far, I have made a post on fashion watches, Emma Stone’s Vogue editorial, Katie Holmes Elle magazine feature, Jessical…

Rain Rain Go Away As I’m Loving My London Days

I remember when I was a little girl, I used to get so upset when it rained. I was an outdoors kid, quite a tomboy actually, and I loved being outside with the trees and the grass the entire day. I’d sit inside watching the rain trickle down the windows and long for the warm weather to come back. I’m actually feeling a bit nostalgic about that now. It’s been raining constantly for so long now and it’s forecast to carry on raining everyday, right into next week and probably longer. I mean, I know they call it April showers, but it’s sort of ridiculous how much rain there is. Since we had a taste of Summer not that long ago and I could almost go out in shorts, I thought that finally the gloomy, cold, wet weather would be over, but no such luck. So I find myself sitting here thinking of that old song; rain rain go away, come again another day… Anyway, onto a more positive note, I am really enjoying the press days at London this time around! Above is a photo I snapped on the train on Tuesday when I was headed for Paddington Station and uploaded to my Instagram (LornaRaindrops). It rained quite a lot, but luckily we managed to be inside during the heavy down pours. I have one more final trip next week and then that’s me done this season for press events until later in the year. So far I have been able to see Diesel, J Brand, Coach, Acne, Hudson Jeans, Nicholas Kirkwood, Pinko, Lulu Guinness, Replay, Wrangler, Superdry, House…

I just wanted to wish you all a Happy Easter! I made these bunny ears today out of paper and cardboard as I never had any, ha ha. I think they turned out quite cute though and definitely fit the Easter theme! Hopefully you all have a nice day and enjoy it! Thank you for being fans of my blog! I appreciate it!
