Happy Halloween – A Fallen Angel Devil

HAPPY HALLOWEEN! Happy Halloween everyone! As you know, I love to do a costume every single year, creating something new and different, but last year, due to Covid, I wasn’t able to do one. I don’t usually opt into the realm of scary or evil costumes, but this year, I wanted to embrace that and do something sexy and fun. I chose to do a fallen angel/Devil combination with two different latex playsuits! The black feathered wings were really inexpensive and they were from the children’s department. All of the accessories were cheap actually, the priciest part was the bodysuit, but even that wasn’t too bad. I bought all of these items separately and put this together myself, so it’s not an actual costume that you can buy as a set – it’s all my own creation. I absolutely love it though! I had so much fun shooting these photos and I even spent a few hours creating a fun video, which you can check out below. What do you think of my costume this year? You can check out my previous costumes here. Lorna xx. Click here to see my Halloween costume video!

A Country Girl Halloween

HAPPY HALLOWEEN! I hadn’t given any of you a preview of my Halloween costume this year (see my previous costumes here), and I was really excited because I absolutely adore country and Western, so doing a cowgirl seemed extremely fitting! I was even more excited that Adam got involved this year and joined me as a cowboy, which you can see below! The best part about this costume was that I put it together out of pieces I already had in my closet! I was wearing my Vintage Levi’s 501 Cut Off Denim Shorts, paired with my Gucci GG Belt (fashionable cowgirl, ha ha) and worn with my Topshop Snake Print Boots. For the shirt, I got this Superdry Bailey Shirt in Yellow, and finished it off with my Brixton Hat and some freckles! Adam’s required a little more props as he got a holster and a toy gun, as well as a bandana! We shot these photos in the little village nearby as there’s a perfect gate and scenery for this type of outfit. A few passers by came over to see what was going on and asked what it was for, even said we needed a horse, ha ha. I really enjoyed this shoot though, and I get excited every year for Halloween costume time! I would happily wear this outfit on a regular day though if the shorts were a little longer! That’s how much I love the Western vibe! What do you think? What’s your costume? Lorna xx. *This post contains affiliate links to help keep this blog running.

Jessica Rabbit

My Jessica Rabbit Costume First off, Happy Halloween to all of you for tomorrow! So many of you have been asking me what my annual Halloween costume was going to be, and I tried to not give too much away, but for those of you who follow me on Instagram (@LornaRaindrops) you will have seen some preview videos from the photoshoot over the weekend, so a lot of you recently knew what costume was coming! I actually had a hard time narrowing this one down as I didn’t want to buy a full costume this time around, instead wanting to make one out of normal clothing. I already had the red wig, so I was figuring out what character to be with red hair, and decided on Jessica Rabbit. I picked up a red dress online quite cheap, sans sequins, and then ordered some purple gloves off of eBay, and chose to wear my Christian Louboutin Pigalle. I know Jessica Rabbit has red shoes, but I couldn’t find mine typically, so this is my own personal take on it. Halloween is actually one of my favourite times of the year as I really do love dressing up in costume, as I know you know! If you remember my previous years costumes (Cat Woman, Tinkerbell, Wonder Woman, Captain America, Red Riding Hood) then you know it’s a tradition of mine, and something I look forward to as the end of October approaches. Channeling my inner Jessica Rabbit was actually harder than I thought it would be though since she oozes a lot of sex appeal and is incredibly confident, which are…

At The Pumpkin Patch

At The Pumpkin Patch How is it almost Halloween? There’s pretty much 2 months left of the year, and once I get past Halloween I start planning everything Christmas related! For this photoshoot though, Adam and I decided to do something different and go to a Pumpkin Patch! This one is at Farrington Farm and I had actually never been to a Pumpkin Patch before, ever, so it was quite an exciting experience! I was considering wearing wellies, but as the weather was really sunny and dry, it wasn’t bad at all so I stuck with my boots as the mud was mostly hard. It was so cool seeing endless amounts of pumpkins in a field though, rows and rows of orange, green, and white pumpkins, thousands of them! They made such a pretty backdrop for the photos, so this is something I plan to do every year now if I can for an October photoshoot! I personally thought burgundy would be a good option for my outfit, so the orange could stand out, and Adam chose an orange jumper so he matched the pumpkins, and I think I actually like his photos more, ha ha, but I will let all of you be the judge of that! Since this is more of a festive and fun shoot, I’m not really focusing it on the outfit, which is why I haven’t put what I was wearing at the bottom or the options to buy. I can’t remember the roll neck jumper as it’s old, but if you are interested, just leave me a comment below and I will look it…

Little Red Riding Hood

HAPPY HALLOWEEN! Hey everyone! As per tradition, like I’ve been doing for around 5 years now, here is my Halloween costume for this year! I’m sure you’ve already guessed what I might be, based on the title or by my iconic red cape, but if you scrolled right past all of that… I’m Little Red Riding Hood! When it comes to my Halloween costumes, I absolutely love dressing up and I start thinking about what I want to be months in advance. You already know that I don’t celebrate the actually holiday itself, neither do my family, but the part I love is being a character and wearing a costume for a fun photo shoot – all for you readers! So far I’ve been Cat Woman, Tinkerbell, Wonder Woman, Miss Captain America, and now Little Red Riding Hood is added to the mix. It’s hard narrowing it down to what might be my favourite from all of the years and I know last years Cap costume tips it for me, but this one does come close. I just love them all and I find them all unique in their own way. I actually purchased this costume a few weeks ago and luckily it wasn’t too cold in the woods when we shot these photos. I did have to do a bit of hiding though when some walkers went by as the skirt area on this costume is incredibly short, but it was all fun! I thought the Little Red Riding Hood costume would suit the thigh high boots though as it gives it more of a mature, darker edge. Plus…

Miss Captain America

My Miss Captain America Costume Before I start this blog post, I wanted to say that this is my favourite costume and favourite set of photos that I have ever done here on Raindrops of Sapphire. Not only is Captain America my favourite comic book character as you all know, but turning myself and these photos into a real life comic book was like a dream come true for me too. It’s taken hours to edit and do this entire shoot from start to finish, but I have to say that I’m incredibly proud of these photos and I haven’t had as much fun on a shoot as this! I originally made a blog post earlier this month with Halloween costume ideas and wanted you all to guess which one I would be choosing. Most of you got it right as I had chosen to be Miss America! I got this costume from Escapade and I think it’s fantastic. It fits really well actually and is quite comfortable, but it doesn’t come with the boots, so I had some help getting hold of these thigh high pvc red ones from a friend and I think they suit the costume perfectly. Halloween is one of my favourite days of the year, not because of the holiday as I don’t celebrate it, but because it means I get to dress up in costume and I love any excuse for that! Anyway, I really hope that I’ve done Captain America justice and you all love it too! And for those of you who just want to see the outfit and aren’t into the…

What Will My Halloween Costume Be?

Cat Woman | Tinkerbell | Wonder Woman It’s Halloween in about 17 days time and that means it’s time for one of my costumes! You can see in the photo above that I love to dress up every single year and be a character as it’s so much fun. I don’t actually celebrate the holiday myself, but I do love any excuse to wear a good costume! I’ve been Cat Woman, Tinkerbell, and Wonder Woman so far, on my blog that is, but I’m planning what costume to wear for this years outfit. Miss America | Disney Belle | Army Woman | Jessica Rabbit There’s 5 different costumes that I’ve been thinking about and those are the 4 above, as well Harley Quinn, but there’s so many options! I’ve tried each one and even have a preview of the Miss America look below for you, but out of these 5 choices, which one would you pick? And what do you think my Halloween costume is going to be when I reveal it on the 31st October? All of these options are from Escapade which is where I got my Wonder Woman costume from as they make some amazing ones. I’d also love to know what you’re dressing up as? Anything I would know? P.S – Don’t forget to shop the Shopbop and East Dane sale right now! They have up to 30% off of everything with the code MAINEVENT16 which you need to enter at the checkout. It’s the biggest sale event of the year where if you spend up to $500, you get 25% off, but if you spend…

Tinkerbell

Happy early Halloween everyone! I truly do love any excuse to get dressed up and Halloween is one of the best of them. My family and I don’t celebrate the holiday, so that’s why I’ve shot these photos early and am sharing them with you now! I’ve always wanted to be Tinkerbell as she’s been my favourite Disney character since I was little, so when I found this gorgeous adult Tinkerbell costume on Sparkling Strawberries, I knew this was the one for me! I usually struggle finding a costume that looks really good and fits well, so it’s like a dream come true! I absolutely adore it! So, I got dressed up early and headed out into the woods to shoot these photos with Adam. Yes, I did get some funny looks from passing hikers, one of them even said that he had never seen a real fairy in the woods before, ha ha, but hey, there’s a first for everything right? I also can’t get over the fact that I have a pair of wings so wearing this outfit to me was like being a kid in a massive candy store all over again! The jewels on the front of the dress are super pretty and the piping makes it act like a stretch corset all around, so it fits well too. Last year you might remember that I dressed up as a cat, and I’m already deciding what I’m going to dress up as for Christmas and next Halloween! I can’t wait! What are you other fashion bloggers dressing up as? I would love to know what you…
