Creating My Autumn Inspired Outfits

Jeans | Top | Bag | Shoes As most of you know, Autumn is my favourite time of the year. I just adore being able to wear burgundy (which is of course my favourite) and mixing it with leopard print, black and navy! I also love the fact that I get to layer on blazers, leather jackets and coats, lots of scarves, wear amazing boots and of course, my ever faithful wellies! Not only do I love the Autumn fashion and buying a new wardrobe, I am obsessive over the scenery too! The beautiful and rich orange, yellow and red hues that appear on the trees, as well as the ground, it just makes the perfect setting for my photos as well as creates some stunning photography (which is a new series I will be adding to my blog soon, stay tuned). I’ve teamed up with Great Plains, which is French Connection’s sister site, to bring you this post! I’m super excited about it as I adore both brands, they have some fantastic dresses for women, evening tops and of course, what would I be doing without mentioning the fact that they also have jeans for women, one of my every day essentials! For this collaboration, I have gone through the site and chosen some pieces which I love and would wear, as well as mixed it up with a few accessories from other brands, to create three different Autumn inspired outfits, which are of course in my own style. The three looks that I put together each replicate an outfit that I have posted here on Raindrops of Sapphire…

Spring Outfit Inspiration

Dress | Boots | Bag | Vest | Nails | Lips | Ring | Ring | Bracelet Spring is right around the corner and I really can’t wait for it! I am really beginning to get fed up of the constant rain, wind and stormy weather that we keep having at the moment. I’m longing for the days where it’s warm enough to wear dresses and shorts out with t-shirts or tank tops and not feel the cold! To get me in the Spring mood, I put three outfits together that I would love to wear when it warms up! I’ve chosen a really edgy look with a tartan dress and black boots, a girly look with double denim and pastel tones and a sporty look with a basketball tee and leather shorts! Which outfit do you like the most? You can shop the pieces with the links beneath the photos. The first one above was one that I actually put together on a whim. I love the tartan trend a lot and thought that the dress mixed a great combination of femininity and plaid. I paired it with the leather vest and ankle boots just to toughen it up a little bit and then opted for a really edgy 3.1 Phillip Lim bag! I kept the make up minimal and only opted for a red lip and glittery red nails, but I love the dainty jewellery I chose too! Especially the little silver daisy ring from Psyche! It’s adorable! This is definitely a look I would love to branch out and try! Shorts | Shirt | Shoes | Bag…

Halloween Outfit & Costume Ideas

Halloween is right around the corner and even though I don’t celebrate the actual holiday, due to beliefs, I do still love the idea of dress up being acceptable. I always love creating outfits and even as a child I loved dressing up as a princess, which is why for Halloween I prefer to choose the less spooky options for my costumes. Black cats for Halloween can be deemed as a bit scary, but as I’m very much a cat person and adore them, I don’t see it that way in the slightest. Last year, I dressed as a cat for my Halloween costume, and this year I was deciding between four different looks. A cat again, but with different accessories, Tinkerbell, Belle or Jessica Rabbit. If I could, I would definitely choose Tinkerbell or Belle. It’s always been a dream of mine to dress as these two characters and I am hoping when I eventually get to go to Disneyland I might be able to! I haven’t been able to find a costume that looked good enough to qualify as these two characters though and I don’t think I would suit Jessica Rabbit since I’m blonde, so I decided on being a cat again. Unlike my last outfit though where I just wore a pair of ears with a black top and skinny jeans, I’m actually going all out and wearing the look I created above! I’ve ordered the tail, gloves and bow tie to go with my shiny leggings, knee high boots and faux leather peplum top. I’m also planning on having red lipstick and cat like eyes.…

5 Different Autumn Inspired Outfits

I always love putting outfits together with collages, it’s one of my favourite things to do, especially around Autumn time as I love mixing the seasonal colours together and coming up with different looks that I would love to wear. Autumn is the best time of year for fashion and it’s the time of year where I would love to have so much money so that I could buy all of the pieces I want, but instead I usually opt for some staple pieces that I can also wear next Autumn. I have a burgundy princess coat that I have been wearing during the colder months for three years now and I love it! Anyway, here are five very different outfits that I put together and think are a great inspiration! The first look above is one that I would definitely wear myself. I absolutely adore it and it might possibly be my favourite out of the five! I combined this amazing burgundy and black structured blazer coat from Zara with some black leggings, a pair of Kurt Geiger Gazelle black ankle boots and a white shirt with black leather accents. I love this whole black, white and burgundy combination here, but I wanted to break it up and add a little more colour to the outfit, so I went with a Rebecca Minkoff Mini Mac in brown and then finished it off with a bronze coloured bullet necklace. The best thing about this outfit is that it would look equally as good without the jacket, so when you get indoors and you take the jacket off so you don’t…

Autumn Fashion & Style Inspiration

You probably already know by now that Autumn is my favourite time of the year. It’s cool enough to wear cardigans, boots and jumpers, but it’s not so cold that you need thick coats and hats. It has that perfect temperature which means your wardrobe is limitless! I think I have the most Autumn clothes out of any season and I absolutely adore the rich colour palette that comes with it! All of the burgundy’s, mustard’s, browns, golds etc, it’s so pretty to look at outside on the trees as well as it is on clothing! I was very excited when Purecollection.com asked me to collaborate with them on this post because they have the perfect range of clothing for Autumn! Everything is made of cashmere and it’s so soft and cosy, you can’t go wrong! You may recognise the first look that I put together above as an outfit I would wear because I absolutely adore burgundy and black together! It’s my favourite combination because it looks so bold and classy at the same time. I opted to style this Pure cashmere boyfriend cardigan in Burgundy with some Topshop black high shine leggings. I love the contrast of the knitted cardigan texture with the waxed wet look leggings. They both complement each other well. To make it stand out more, I added these Giuseppe Zanotti black zipper booties, a Dolce & Gabbana cream bag and some gold jewellery. If I owned all of these pieces, this is exactly how I would wear this look! Just throw on a looser fitting white tank top underneath and then wear the cardigan…

Burgundy, Black & Mustard Autumn Style Inspiration

Autumn is my favourite season of the year and it will soon be upon us. There is something about the fresh, crisp air that you breathe in that just makes me smile. I love the fact that the temperature is a little bit bitter and you get to wear boots, jackets and jeans, which is my favourite combination! Autumn is also the time that I end up spending the most money when it comes to clothes, I think it’s the best season for fashion and there are always so many items I want! Another thing I love is the shade of the trees, that gorgeous warm orange/red/yellow tone that the leaves turn is amazing, I think it makes the most beautiful photos and it also inspires me to dress with an Autumn colour palette when it comes to fashion. Burgundy and mustard is my absolute favourite, mixed with black as the base, you can never go wrong with it! I was really excited when I was asked by Rabeanco to style their gorgeous Granville Bag in yellow, it just screamed Autumn to me, so I came up with the outfit above! I styled the Rabeanco Granville Bag with the gorgeous Paige Edgemont Black Skinny Jeans, which are also coated for a leather effect. I have been a fan of these for a long time! For the pop of burgundy, which I can’t go without, I went with a Muubaa Burgundy Leather Jacket. They make such amazing jackets! I then added these statement making black Giuseppe Zanotti Boots as they will blend in with the jeans perfectly, but give you height…

Styling A Going Out Look On A Budget

Netvouchercodes.co.uk gave me an imaginary budget of £100 to create an outfit using items from brands they represent. These items had to have a deal going on, so for example, they needed to be in the sale, have a discount code or on a special offer, in order to qualify as part of the outfit. I’ve had a lot of fun collaborating with them on this as I love to make up and plan outfits! My total imaginary money spent for this whole look was actually £92, so I was well within the budget for this outfit! I chose a black and white thick striped skirt with a burgundy cropped jumper, both in the sale from Topshop. I love black and white stripes at the moment as you know, I love how well they go with burgundy! I would actually wear the jumper with the sleeves rolled up for style. I then chose a pair of black platform sandals in the sale from Miss Selfridge to keep within the style and to elongate the legs. For the accessories, I chose a black heart ring and a gold/silver beaded bracelet pack, both from Miss Selfridge which offer 10% off for students, so if I was a student, I would use this discount. Then lastly, for nail polish, I chose a metallic red for most of my nails and then a gold shade for the ring fingers. Both of these are from Topshop and on offer at the moment, 2 for £10. So you can see that everything I chose here had an offer on and I think the website is really…

3 Different Summer Inspired Looks

I don’t usually do these types of posts on my blog, however I really love putting outfits together this way and seeing how different pieces work with each other. I was inspired to do three different looks here, one that’s safari and girly, another that’s girly and classy and then another that’s very much festival orientated, all of which are perfect for summer! For the first look above, I had my eye on that skirt for a very long time as it’s gorgeous, but I haven’t had the money to purchase such a statement piece at the moment, so styling it like this was a great option for me. This is definitely a look that I would love to wear, however I don’t know if I am brave enough to show that much skin! This outfit consists of a Marc by Marc Jacobs Rose Gold Watch and a Safari Skirt, Black Bralet, Cream Wedges, Elephant Necklace and Orange/Pink Ring from Topshop. This second look has a girly vibe that I toughened up with some black ankle boots. With all of the accessories and sparkle, this is definitely something that I would wear myself. I actually own the dress in the full maxi length version and it’s gorgeous! Very flattering and elegant! This outfit features a Wal G Red/White Dress, a Rebecca Minkoff Mini 5 Zip in Berry, a Marc by Marc Jacobs Henry Glitz Watch in Gold and Black Boots, Gold Bracelets, Single Bracelet and Earrings from Topshop. Finally I thought I would do a festival look as so many music festivals happen during the summer! Since I live in…
