Red Boots

The Red Boots Outfit There’s been a little change around with my schedule as things haven’t quite gone to plan this week. I caught a cold/flu on Monday and have been incredibly ill (much like everyone else right now, I know) so I’ve been in bed a lot, suffering the rotten symptoms and have barely been able to work. I did put on Instagram and Twitter that I would be taking a break so I didn’t post for 2 days, and have taken a 4 day break on the blog as well, as resting up and not looking at screens was what had to be done. Thankfully I am feeling well enough to catch up on things and get some work done, but still struggling with even going out or just speaking without irritating my nose and throat. I did have another post planned for publishing yesterday, but I haven’t even been able to make a start on any this week at all, so I’m using older photos. Adam and I actually shot these back in November and I wasn’t going to use them as we started shooting the photos to showcase the boots and once I saw how it looked on the camera, I decided to quit the photo shoot as I was freezing and I just didn’t like how the photos looked, or the outfit in general as the red’s didn’t match either. I think the main issue was the fact that my striped top underneath was blue and I had removed my scarf, so I made the mistake of not realising it would show through and it…

The Long Grey Jacket With Over The Knee Boots

Grey long waistcoat with skinny jeans and over the knee boots It’s been a long while since I shared an outfit post with you on my fashion blog, which I apologise for, but I have been a little under the weather recently, so I haven’t really been able to concentrate fully on doing an outfit shoot to the best of my ability. I’m about 90% better now, so I hope it continues that way and doesn’t relapse. I wore this outfit on the weekend though when I went to town with Adam. We had some lunch and then we sat in the park for a while as it was a really nice day, so we enjoyed the sunshine, flowers and nature. Those of you who don’t follow me on Instagram will probably be thinking that something looks different about me here, and you are right, I had my hair chopped off. I had been contemplating going shorter for a couple of months and I finally made the decision to do it a few days ago. I was really tired of my long hair as it was constantly knotty, really hard to maintain and manage and it looked quite damaged on the ends as the hair was really old, plus, after having hair that long for well over 6 years, I thought it was time for a change. I had about 7 inches taken off in total and I actually donated the hair that I had chopped off to the Little Princess Trust who make real hair wigs for children with cancer. I was so nervous about doing it and thinking…

The 40’s Wrap Coat With Over The Knee Boots

(Coat – Exact, Boots – Exact, Hat – Similar) This is something extremely different for me, as I’m sure you can see, but I was asked to take part in a styling challenge called #LAStyleOff from Look Again, along with 4 other fashion bloggers. The idea was to style this 40’s inspired vintage camel coat by Buffalo in our own way and this is what I came up with. I took it in the smallest size, UK 6, and it has an oversized fit as you can see, but I thought pairing it with my DUO Dita Over The Knee boots and then a hat from Urban Outfitters (similar here) would be a good choice. Even though this is something I wouldn’t usually wear, I definitely like how it turned out! This coat has been featured on TV and also modelled by Stacey Solomon, so it’s extremely popular! PLUS, WIN THIS COAT! Want to know how you can win your own? All you have to do is ‘like’ the photo of me wearing it on Facebook and you will be in with a chance of winning it! Plus, liking the photo helps me win the overall styling challenge, so even if you don’t want to win it, it would mean a lot to me if you could like the photo anyway! You can do so by clicking here. The giveaway ends 10am Monday 17th November, UK time. I’d love to know what you thin of my outfit and how I styled this coat though!

The Grey Cape & Over The Knee Boots

(Cape – Exact & Similar, Jeans – Exact, Boots – Exact) I have been thinking up an outfit ever since I got these gorgeous DUO boots a couple of weeks ago at the DUO Bloggers event in Bath. I  completely fell in love with them when I first saw them and I am so happy that I was able to have them. I’ve never owned any over the knee boots before and these are just perfect! So, for the outfit, I wanted something contrasting which is why I chose this Topshop Double Breasted Grey Cape. I had been wanting this cape coat ever since I saw it a couple of months ago in a Topshop fashion bloggers preview, finally it came in stock last week so I snapped it up in an XS instantly! I now have a cape that I absolutely adore! I felt like the look needed some blue denim in it though, which is why I tucked these 7 For All Mankind The Ankle Skinny Jeans in Rue De Lille (similar here) into my beautiful DUO Dita Over The Knee Grey Suede Boots. You haven’t seen these jeans yet, but you will in detail soon. They have a raw hem and have been a pair that I’ve been living in and can’t be without. So this turned out to be an outfit that worked really well, in my opinion, and I would love to know what you think of it! Getting to my make-up though, I decided to do it a little bit differently. I recently got this Illamasqua contouring and highlighting kit as well as a…

#DUOBOOTTRIBE Bath Boutique Blogger Event

So on Thursday last week, I was invited to the DUO Boutique in Bath (which I am very fond of) for a unique blogger experience event, entitled #DUOBOOTTRIBE, to celebrate their new Autumn Winter collection and find out more about their boot tribes. I was there with about 13 other fashion bloggers, some very familiar faces like Tara from The Style Rawr, Gina from Bristol and Megan from Briar Rose. All of which I know very well from other events, but I was lucky to make a new friend as well, the lovely and adorable Michelle from Eclectic Threads. It was a fantastic event and I actually really enjoyed it! A lot of the times I don’t like parties or crowded situations, but this one was very low key, relaxed and enjoyable! It started out with a talk about the different Boot Tribes that DUO have: ankle boots, calf boots and over the knee boots. The aim of the evening was to find out about the differences and of course, search for your perfect boot around the store. The best thing about DUO for me is the calf sizes. I have bigger feet (UK 6 or 7) and very tiny calves, so finding boots to fit my calves and foot size is impossible, they are always too big, but with DUO, they come in various widths so there’s a perfect size for me. This is why I own two other pairs from them! I had looked online prior to the event to choose the boots I loved and the ones I ended up going for are these gorgeous Dita grey…

Float Down Like Autumn Leaves

(Coat – Similar, Leggings – Exact, Top – Similar, Cardigan – Similar, Boots – Similar, Bag – Exact, Hat – Similar) So Autumn is finally here in full force and I couldn’t be more excited. I’m sure most of you know by now that doing outfit shoots with the yellow, gold and red hues of the leaves is one of my favourite things as it just livens up the photos and makes them so intense. I can’t be without colour, so mixing jewel tones with the yellows just works perfectly! Luckily this is what it looks like very near where I live so I couldn’t be happier at the moment! We shot these photos on Sunday when it was fresh enough to need a few layers and a hat, but still slightly warm enough to be out and about for a while without getting too cold. For my outfit, I opted to wear my Denimocracy Anarchy Knit leggings as I often reach for these to wear with boots in the Autumn time due to the comfort and ease of wearing. I tucked them into my DUO Laurel boots and then layered on my Zara cobalt blue jumper, an Urban Outfitters purple cardigan and then my Zara black structured coat. I adore layering as you can get some great effects with it and some really nice colour combinations too! To bring even more colour to the blue and purple, I chose my Cambridge Satchel Mini in yellow (similar here) and then finished off with a new cat ears hat that I picked up from Zara. I really quite like how this…

The Grey Faux Fur Collar Coat

(Coat – Exact, Leggings – Similar, T-Shirt – Exact, Boots – Similar, Bag – Exact) Unfortunately I’m not feeling very well again, I think I’m coming down with something. I hate getting sick around Christmas time as the past 3 years in a row, if it wasn’t me who was sick, it was the rest of my family, so it’s kind of put a dampener on the day. I’m hoping that none of us will be sick this Christmas since I’m getting into the festive spirit! I’m really enjoying all of the decorations though, there are some beautiful ones that are around. I will be sharing those in a post with you soon too! I think that will be next week as I have a few ideas for posts this week already. Anyway, I wore this outfit two weekends ago when I went out to lunch in town with my boyfriend. I got to choose this gorgeous Warehouse Faux Fur Collar Grey Coat from Zalando to style in an outfit. The funny thing was I had been looking at this coat on the Warehouse website for some time as I loved it, so I was incredibly excited to be able to style it. Since the coat is quite a strong grey, I wanted to style it with black and lighter grey, to keep a monochromatic look, so I wore my Denimocracy Knitted Leggings in Black with my Duo Boots (Laurel Boots in Black Suede) and a Topshop Light Grey T-Shirt. Since I don’t think it’s possible for me to be without some colour though, I wore my Rebecca Minkoff Mini…

Black & White Stripes Like Beetle Juice

(Jeans – Similar, Blazer – Similar, Boots – Similar, Bag – Similar) I have to admit that this isn’t one of my favourite outfits, but I had to style these jeans for DenimBlog and they didn’t fit me quite right so I needed to pair them with boots. I kept everything black and white because I think that suits the jeans perfectly, but then livened it up with the shots of red in my bag and with my lipstick. I’m wearing 7 For All Mankind Jeans, a Zara Black Blazer, my DUO Laurel Black Boots and my Marc by Marc Jacobs Red Bell Bag. When I first got these jeans they reminded me so much of Beetle Juice, hence the title of my post, because he had a whole suit with these thick black and white stripes on. I think I would like these more if the were not coated though, I think the shine makes them less intense. Thick black and white stripes I do prefer over pinstripes though, I think they are really bold and effective. What do you think of the look?
