Grey And Blue Double Denim

A Levi’s Denim Jacket With Grey Skinny Jeans Hey everyone! How are you all? I’m so happy that we are finally out of lock down and now in a more free way of living with the shops being open! Some normality again! I feel like this outfit is so me! It’s been a while since I did double denim, and it’s been even longer since I wore grey skinny jeans or a denim jacket for that matter! I love this kind of outfit and I feel so comfortable in it, as it’s been a uniform of mine for well over a decade. Most of these pieces are new too, so let me tell you about them! I was wearing my Levi’s Trucker Denim Jacket that I got a few months ago, and layered it over my Abercrombie & Fitch Tie Knot Tee in White. I think wearing a knot in the front of a t-shirt really gives it a different vibe to keeping it plain, it’s just so elevating. Then for my jeans (I recently included these in my wish list), they’re the Joe’s Jeans The Charlie Crop Jeans in Solitude and they’re incredible! They’re so stretchy and comfortable, and they’re the perfect shade of grey, so I’m obsessed with these right now! Then for my shoes, I wore my brand new Gucci Brixton Loafers in White, which again, I’m absolutely obsessed with because they’re so versatile, classy, and beyond comfortable! I will be reviewing them soon! Then I finished it off with my Saint Laurent Nano Sac de Jour Bag in Grey, to pull the shades together. Denim has…

Double Denim And A Baseball Cap

Double Denim With A Baseball Cap Some blue denim! It’s been a little while since I wore blue denim, as someone pointed out to me on Instagram a couple of days ago, saying they missed it, so this is as close as I have got so far! I do plan on wearing my new blue jeans soon (these ones), so stay tuned! For this outfit though, it’s a casual and sporty look that I wore to town a couple of weekends ago. As you can see in some of the photos, it was on and off raining all day which is why I was wearing a hat and why my hair was frizzy. The British weather is just insane lately! Usually by mid June it’s scorching hot, but it’s freezing and constantly raining, so it’s all over the place as usual. Not that I’m complaining as I hate it when it’s too hot, just stating a fact since I’m British and it’s what we do – talk about the weather! I was wearing my GRLFRND Embroidered Denim Jacket (you saw it here before) which I layered over a grey tank top from GAP (picked this one up at Clarks Village) and paired it with my L’AGENCE Margot Skinny Jeans in Graphite (what else!). For my shoes I opted for my Balenciaga Race Runners in Black and then borrowed one of Adam’s baseball caps from New Era, since he has the largest collection! I thought the grey marl matched perfectly with the entire combination! Blue, black and grey is a winner! I find my taste in outfits varies every single day,…

Double Denim With Sherpa In A Unique Way

The Topshop Borg Denim Jacket Outfit This outfit here somewhat became my uniform during the Autumn for running errands and just popping out. Those of you who follow me on Instagram (@LornaRaindrops) will know that I was debating over purchasing this denim jacket from Topshop for a while because I wasn’t sure if I liked it, but every time I saw it, I loved it even more. When I tried it on, I was head over heels in love with it, so I was sold on keeping it and it turned out to be one of the best things I did. Not everyone loves it though, in fact it was pretty 50/50 when I put the polls up because of the borg design, but I can’t get enough of it, and still love it so much now. Since it’s designed to fit a bit boxy and oversized, I went with a UK 8 to keep that look, and I am glad I did because it means I can wear it with thicker knitwear underneath too, if I so wish. I was worried that it did make me look disproportionate and would overwhelm me with so much material, but much like my teddy coats, once you get the proportions right with the rest of your clothes, it looks fantastic. So my outfit here is the Topshop Borg Denim Jacket (click here as it’s on sale right now) which I styled with my Topshop Cropped Grey Jumper, and then finished it off with my PAIGE Margot Skinny Jeans, as they’re a similar blue wash. If you prefer a different borg on the…

How I Wear Double Denim

How I Wear Double Denim Unless you’re new to my blog (if you are, welcome!) then I am sure you know just how much I love and am obsessed with denim. If you didn’t know that I run a denim focused website, I do, it’s called The Jeans Blog, so it’s something that’s true to my heart. I pretty much wear jeans in every outfit unless it’s boiling hot in the summer, but a combination I adore to wear is double denim. I often wear two or three pieces of denim at once, but my favourite way to do it is with blue and grey as the colour palette. I always like to do two different shades as I think it’s the best. I’m open to dark and light blue together, but there’s something about grey and light blue that I can’t get enough of. If any of you remember an outfit I wore back in 2010 (click here) then you will see what I mean (I can’t believe I just linked to those embarrassing photos, ha ha) as it’s somewhat a uniform for me now. Last year I chose to wear something similar as well, but with a sleeveless shirt (click here), so I thought I would do a more Autumnal approach with this double denim outfit. For this outfit, I chose to wear my GRLFRND Daria Oversized Denim Jacket with Embroidery (you saw it before here) and style it with my Topshop Skinny Jeans in Grey. I chose a simple beige marl tank top and then matched that to my Adidas Campus Trainers which I got around my…

Levi’s Sherpa Double Denim Jacket Outfit

Winter Double Denim Style In A Levi’s Sherpa Jacket Winter is so gloomy isn’t it? I feel like these photos capture a pretty true British winter – gritty, dark, miserable looking, wet… what we have grown accustomed too, but it gives a sense of character to the photos. I wonder if our weather is the reason behind why we’re such a miserable nation? Ha ha. This set was shot around new year so literally right in the middle of the cold, but of course it was raining too and this time I didn’t want to wear rain clothes. As much as I love them, it can get tiresome wearing them pretty much everyday thanks to out constant sky shower. Getting to the outfit, I chose to wear my Levi’s Men’s Sherpa Denim Jacket (seen before here) over an ALLSAINTS Roll Neck Jumper that I’ve worn so many times. It’s really thick and warm, so that underneath the thick denim jacket is a combination that kept me nice and toasty. As I love two different shades for double denim, I wore my J Brand Maria Skinny Jeans in Dove as grey and blue are perfect together, then opted for my Sam Edelman Petty Booties. I haven’t worn these in years! I’ve owned them since 2011 (I think) and they are still serving me well. Since it was raining, I wore my Rebecca Mnikoff Mini Mac as I don’t like to wear my designer bags when it’s wet, and then finished it off with my trusty Topshop Scarf. I’ve worn this scarf with almost everything! It’s such a versatile colour. I’m still…

Double Denim With A Christmas Twist

Levi’s Sherpa Denim Jacket With A Christmas Jumper Can you believe it’s literally just 6 days until Christmas? I can’t. Honestly I think 2017 has been the fastest year for me to date. I don’t know if it’s just because the older I get, the faster it goes, or because I’m living by weekend to weekend and work in the weeks that it just gets ahead of me. Either way though, where did it all go? I’m actually excited for a new year to begin though as 2017 hasn’t been the best for me at all. Even though I know it’s literally just another day like the day before, there’s something inviting and welcoming about 2018 and I’m hoping it’s going to be my year! Anyway, getting to my outfit, as I know that’s what you all want to see, I thought I would do a Christmas jumper look that was different. Instead of making my usual festive jumper the star of the show, I thought I would go for layering instead and choose items from the men’s department as I’m always for unisex clothing if it looks good! I chose to wear this men’s Threadbare Christmas Reindeer Jumper which I paired with my AG The Farrah Ankle Skinny Jeans in 13 Years Daybreak Destroyed (read my review on them here). I absolutely love these jeans as you know from my previous favourite jeans round up! I then layered on my men’s Levi’s Sherpa Trucker Denim Jacket and finished it off with my Sam Edelman Blake Boots. Double denim is something that I gravitate towards as a look all the…

Embroidered Tigers With Double Denim

Double Denim Outfit With Embroidery As a huge denim lover, wearing double denim is something that I can never get enough of, especially now that I’ve found one of the most amazing denim jackets I have ever seen. It just makes the perfect double denim outfit! The jacket I am talking about is this GRLFRND Daria Oversized Denim Jacket here, which features an embroidered tiger on the back and French quotes as well. I love the length of it, the slouchier fit, and the design. It’s not usually possible to get something oversized and to have it look flattering, as well as hug your figure, so that’s why this one is perfect! It’s now my favourite denim jacket, ever. I mean I’ve never tried a Gucci one, so I can’t compare, but I don’t need to with this one. For my double denim outfit, I decided to wear my GRLFRND Denim Jacket with my Citizens of Humanity Rocket Crop Jeans in Spritz. I love the combination of the light blue denim on top and the dark indigo on the bottom, so it’s complementary but different. I actually love this look so much that I wore it twice. The first time was above with a white t-shirt, and the second time was with a Jeans for Genes t-shirt, to support the charity (more on that below). For the accessories though, I chose my Gucci Princetown Loafers in Brown, my Mulberry Lily in Oak, my Gucci GG Belt, and my Daniel Wellington Classic Petite Watch in St. Mawes. There’s just something about blue denim and brown accessories that I just adore, and…

Double Denim & Leather

Double Denim With An All Saints Balfern Leather Jacket Last weekend it was warm enough for me to just wear my All Saints Balfern Leather Jacket in Sahara (buy it here) and I decided to style it with double denim. I layered it over one of my Topshop Sleeveless Denim Shirts and then paired that with my Citizens of Humanity Rocket Crop Jeans in Spritz. I was so excited when I got these jeans as you know I live in my Citizens Rocket in Aura all the time, so it’s great to have the same style but in a darker wash like these. I thought they paired really nicely with my brown leather belt to break up the double denim combination and blend in with the leather jacket. I then wanted some lighter neutrals so I went with my Sam Edelman Petty Booties and my Mulberry Alexa Clutch in Powder Beige. Instead of the usual landscape scenery shots that Adam and I love to do due to the pretty areas around here, we wanted to do more of a street style shoot for this look and give it some more edge. We headed to the top of town out into the areas where people live and shot in the middle of the street by the cars. It was definitely a different experience having to go in and out of the road to avoid cars though, it’s not something that I would like to do all that often, but I definitely love how these photos turned out. They have an easy, and sometimes candid approach to them. What do you think…
