First of all I wanted to apologise for not posting very much lately, I was in London yesterday and I have been so tired from all of the traveling and things that I haven’t been able to make many posts. I’m finally getting my hair cut tomorrow and I want to try a completely new style. I’ve always wanted to try a fringe/bangs but I have been too scared to. I used to have a heavy one when I was really young but the change is something I am frightened to do in case I don’t like it. I decided though, that I am going to go for it. I found these pictures of the two Taylors (Taylor Swift and Taylor Momsen) and I like both of their styles. I am only going to have about an inch or so off of the length as I want to keep it long, so I am thinking that maybe Taylor Swifts hairstyle below might be one I want to go for. It’s a difficult choice though, what do you all think? Should I get a fringe/bangs? I’ve already had the side sweeping one for a long time, but I decided this time, it’s a full one or nothing! Hudson Jeans asked me to take part (representing DenimBlog) in their Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign. They are working with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation and donating $5 from every jean sold on their website to the foundation. They asked their blogger friends to wear a pair of Hudson Jeans (I chose the Nico in Chelsea) and write on the white boards they sent over ‘I Choose…’ followed by our thoughts. I chose to write ‘I Choose To Fight For Life’ because to me it’s important to keep fighting and having the willpower to carry on in life and want to live. The Breast Cancer Research Foundation is a foundation I feel strongly about and I am glad I got asked to take part. The pictures are on the home page of their website http://www.hudsonjeans.com and you can view the original blog post with all of the information on DenimBlog by clicking here. As I mentioned previously, I met Roger Saul, the original founder and designer of Mulberry when I went for the open day at Kilver Court a little while ago. He’s really lovely, full of energy and seems like a down to earth guy. He’s also a fellow country lover like myself, we both grew up and live in the country and I find it nice to know that just because you don’t live in the city, you can still be successful! You can read my interview below and I want to thank Roger for his time. Lorna: I find it lovely that you grew up and live where I do, have you always loved the country? Yes born and bred here in Somerset, its hard not to love it! Lorna: Did you always know you wanted to be a designer? No I wanted to be a racing driver! I did that in my spare time, but my love of fashion really started when I was 18 and then becoming a designer was a natural progression. Lorna: I love the brand Mulberry, it’s one of my favourites. I’m so sorry to hear what happened to you and the company, how are you now, after it all? It was not a good time, very sad to lose contact with all those wonderful people that joined me as my team worldwide, but life has a great habit of knocking you down and getting you to learn how to pick yourself up and if that hadn’t happened I would never have had all the amazing experiences I have had since. Lorna: Do you have…
Here is my second Q&A on my personal style blog. You can see the first one I did last year here where I answered a lot of questions you wanted to know but I have got quite a few more to answer since then so that’s why I decided on doing another Q&A post for you all. Let me know if you want to know anything else about me and I will answer your questions for you! (Follow me on Twitter, Bloglovin and Facebook) Why do you always wear jeans? Those of you who know me will know that I am the editor and one of the main writers of DenimBlog so denim has been my passion for many years now. I wear jeans a lot mainly because I am obsessed with them and I love them, especially when you find perfect pairs, but also because I do denim reviews every week. I like to plan outfits to wear with the jeans for reviewing but that’s really also my style, I wear jeans literally everyday… Lol. Sometimes I do outfits without denim in though. I’m sure it’s changed since last time, what are your favourite jeans now? It probably has! I still love all of the jeans that I listed last time but since then I have added Current/Elliott Stiletto in Canteen, 7 For All Mankind Gwenevere in Zuma Sunrise, MiH Breathless in Pinetop, Siwy Alexa shorts in Love Song, Paige Jimmy Jimmy shorts in Tigerlily, M2F Skinnies in Rose, MET Eco-Pelle leather skinnies and of course my Paige & Lorna collaboration jeans! I’m actually probably missing quite a lot…
A lot of you have been asking to see photos of my closet, I don’t exactly have a closet as they are not that popular here in England but I do have a good wardrobe/clothing arrangement in my bedroom. I actually have 2 wardrobes; one for clothes and one for bags, shoes and my clothes I’m wearing at the moment. They are all in sections like jackets, t-shirts, dresses, jeans etc and I try and keep the colours in coordination in their sections. I’ve only taken a few snaps as parts of it you can’t get to at this exact moment. How do you arrange your clothes? I would love nothing more than a huge closet though! I’ve recently been arranging and sorting out everything for my clothing space, it’s been fun and it looks nothing like the mess it used to be 🙂 (Follow me on Twitter, Bloglovin and Facebook)
Believe it or not, Autumn/Fall is one of my favourite seasons. I find it so beautiful, the amazing shades of reds, oranges, yellows and browns that the trees project while the sky is a little overcast and it feels a bit chilly, there is something about it that I just love. You can still get those random warm days while you can get the wet and windy ones, it’s a great mix. It’s one of the best seasons to shop for as well, it’s just ending Summer but it’s not quite cold enough for Winter so your clothing options are wide spread, the slouchy jumpers/sweaters with skinny jeans and boots, the jackets, the scarves, the cute little umbrellas… The choices are endless! Even though it’s still officially Summer right now, I’m ready to start shopping for the coming season! I’m probably going to be making a few posts here and there about my favourite pieces for Autumn/Fall as well. Are you looking forward to it too? I got the chance to ask the wonderful Fearne Cotton, along with some other fashion bloggers, some questions about her new Autumn/Winter 2011 collection for Very.co.uk. I’ve seen a lot of Fearne’s clothes from previous seasons and I definitely think this one is my favourite. She’s used many colours and used lots of different styles. You can read the interview and view lots of images in this blog post. (Follow me on Twitter, Bloglovin and Facebook) Lorna: A lot of designers use a darker colour palette for AW collections, what made you decide to keep brights for yours? I think it’s really important to include plenty of bright colour in your AW11 wardrobe – otherwise things can get very depressing! Lorna: What piece in your AW collection would you say most describes you? The black dress with a vintage cream print and ruffle lace sleeves. It’s a simple design, but made special with the little quirky details. It’s very comfy but girly at the same time. Something I know I will wear to death!
I’ve recently developed a thing for hats. I love the way they can hide your hair if you are having a bad hair day or just generally add some colour and flare to your outfits. Since it’s Summer now too, they will be useful for keeping the sun off my head as I get headaches quickly from too much sunlight. I fell in love with this cute little ribbon and flower hat when I saw it online at River Island and I loved it even more in-store on the weekend. Are you loving hats at the moment too?
