The 84th Academy Awards, also known as the 2012 Oscars, was held at the Hollywood & Highland Center on Sunday 26th February in Hollywood, California and as usual, it was all about what everyone was wearing. I’m always a fan of Oscar fashion, but this year, for me, it was quite a disappointment. I found the red carpet dresses to be quite dull and not very interesting. I much preferred some of the Vanity Fair and Elton John’s party dresses. But as the Oscars go, this is definitely my least favourite year so far. I have piled together some photos of the dresses I loved though, there are about 16 and I think they are gorgeous! Above is Claire Danes. She looked so pretty and feminine in her Valentino dress which she paired with Christian Louboutin heels, a Lanvin clutch, a Van Cleef & Arpels bracelet and some Tiffany & Co. earrings. I think she looks amazing! I honestly love everything about this look and the dress is just stunning. This was definitely my favourite of the whole evening! (Follow me on Twitter, Bloglovin and Facebook) Heidi Klum looked so bright, fun and cheerful in a yellow Versace dress which she wore with Christian Louboutin heels and Lorraine Schwartz jewellery. I love the fact she combined the yellow with gold, I think it makes such a classy look! Heidi can always pull off anything and if anyone can rock a bright yellow dress, it’s her! This was my second favourite outfit of the evening. I love Selena Gomez! I think she is adorable and so sweet! She wore a Dolce…
River Island Yellow Blazer. My favourite colour has always been pink but lately I have really fallen for yellow. It’s so bright, so fun and reminds me so much of happiness and sunshine. It really livens up outfits and makes you feel energetic! I’ve piled together a few of my favourite yellow pieces which are on my wish list. Are you loving yellow too? One thing I have always loved the look of is rainbow coloured hair. Ever since I was little I have always thought it looked really pretty. I’m a huge fan of colour as you know but I have never been brave enough to have more than one colour at a time. My hair has been red, pink, blue, purple, black, brown, strawberry blonde, bright blonde and more. I thought I would share with you some coloured hair inspiration photos which I love. The first and second photos are my favourites! Are you brave enough to rainbow colour your hair? (Follow me on Twitter, Bloglovin and Facebook) All images are courtesy of Google Images.
Ever since seeing a few Merle O’Grady pieces at the Urban Outfitters Autumn/Winter 2011 press day last week, I have been obsessing over the jewellery! I wanted to share with you some of my favourite pieces from the coming collection and a bit about the brand and designer. Merle O’Grady is an Irish jewellery designer who trained in Fashion Design at Limerick School of Art and Design before relocating to her current home of London in 2004. There she specialised in Accessory Design at the world-renowned Cordwainers College at London College of Fashion and created her jewellery label in 2008. Influenced by symmetric and geometric pattern, Merle creates luxury fashion jewellery using her signature spiked semi-precious stones, industrial tubing, chunky men’s chains and oversized Swarovski crystals to create an edgy yet feminine and luxurious aesthetic. All of her pieces are hand made in London as well which I love. Merle has also had her work featured in many publications including British and Italian Vogue, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, Instyle and Grazia and she counts Beyonce, Cheryl Cole, Rihanna, Kimberley Walsh, Tess Daly and Ellie Goulding as fans of her designs. I’m honoured to be able to speak with her and know more about her jewellery. Merle said her Autumn/Winter 2011 line is all about a medieval disco feel, as bizarre as that sounds! She was going for tribal elements mixed with a sleek architectural 70s industrial aesthetic but still with that luxurious futuristic feel she always tries to achieve. I think she got it spot on! I have this deep love and infatuation for Wildfox Couture. If I kept a diary and Wildfox was a guy, he would be the crush that I gushed over but never really had the courage to do anything about. I adore so many of their tees and sweaters, if I had a tonne of money then my wardrobe would be full of them. As it stands, I only own one Wildfox tee and that’s a cat one which I got on sale. My goal is to own more as I just adore them, so I think I am going to have to start saving since it’s warm enough to go out in little clothing now! Who else feels the same way I do about Wildfox? Chiara Ferragni from The Blonde Salad is actually my favourite style blogger. I’ve been following her blog for a really long time now as I am sure most of you have. I’m so pleased for her and really happy that she has achieved everything she has from blogging, she must feel so excited and proud inside! I thought I would make a little post of some of my favourite outfits she has worn. There are plenty more that I love but I have only selected a few. I love her style mainly because she dresses so normal but really stylish! What do you love about Chiara? (Follow me on Twitter, Bloglovin and Facebook)
The 2011 Kids Choice Awards was held at the USC Galen Center on Saturday 2nd April in Los Angeles, California. A lot of the teen celebs and a couple of older celebs attended the event and graced the orange carpet. I love the fact that the carpet is orange! It makes a nice change from the classic the red one! I’m glad Nickelodeon’s trademark is orange. I’ve put together a few photos of my favourite outfits from the event and what they were wearing in this post. Miley Cyrus posed for photos wearing a Dolce & Gabbana floral print dress which was my favourite of the afternoon! I love the colours, they blend so well and the shape of the dress is so flattering! This is definitely the perfect choice in my opinion. (Follow me on Twitter, Bloglovin and Facebook)
Here is the tenth installment of my LOOKBOOK.nu inspiration posts. There are a lot of posts from Flavia as she is my favourite style blogger out of everyone on there. Her looks are so versatile and she really knows how to put an outfit together. I take my fashion inspiration from most places but I think LOOKBOOK.nu has the most eclectic collection 🙂 (Follow me on Twitter, Bloglovin and Facebook)
