Wall Art Inspiration

If there’s one thing that I have been into since last year, it’s home improvement and decor. If you have followed me for a while, you will know that I spent a great deal of time in IKEA last year, getting the PAX system for my wardrobe and making it exactly how I wanted it, but things took a nose dive this year and the project still isn’t complete as I need doors and a few other things. One area I am shining in right now though is the decor in my bedroom, and I’m loving a more minimal approach (as my walls used to be cluttered with old posters). I have an array of cacti and green plants, as well as faux plants, but my favourite things at the moment are my wall part pieces. As you can see from my photos, I’ve gone with some beautiful prints that I framed in white wooden frames, and they really give a romantic feel to my bedroom. Wall art is a love of mine, and even though I haven’t done a feature wall here, I love the prints that I chose. A beautiful sunset with purple hues, a foggy and majestic day at the beach, a lavender field, and a stunning shot of a house and the ocean. I purposely chose blue and purple as my colour palette here so that they would blend together, creating a harmonious hue instead of bold and daring colours. I find this is really soothing in a bedroom as it allows your eyes to rest and gives you an inner calmness. The prints that I…

Bedroom Inspiration

As you know, due to Adam and I getting engaged in July, we are starting to look at houses as inspiration for when we move in together after our wedding. We aren’t getting married for a few years yet, but that never stops me dreaming and looking at inspiration for rooms to do up exactly how we (I mean I really, ha ha!) want them. The first place I have always looked to for inspiration is the bedroom. As I live with my mum currently, I only have a small bedroom which is a complete mess as it acts as my closet, my sleeping area, and sometimes my work station, so there’s not much available space to do anything with it unfortunately, which is why I can’t wait until Adam and I can afford a place of our own to call home. One thing I have always wanted is a separate room for a closet. As I’m sure you know, being a fashion blogger means I’m addicted to clothes and accessories, and I have LOTS of them, so a room dedicated to that is ideal for me and that’s what the spare bedroom will be in our own house, a dedicated closet! I know you Americans are extremely lucky in the sense that your houses generally come with walk in closets, but us Brits are never that lucky since our houses are much smaller, so we have to make our own plans. I did some closet inspiration before, but it would be clean and white with wooden floors and a fluffy rug, in short. I wouldn’t want my closet to…

My Dream Bedroom/Closet – Inspiration & Ideas

Ever since I was little, I have been obsessed with the idea of having a bedroom/closet combination that’s perfect for me. I’ve always liked the idea of sleeping in a closet, so having a bedroom which is a closet would be the most ideal situation, ever! At the moment I only have a small bedroom as I live in a house with my family, so I can’t dedicate a big room to store my things in, so my room is actually a mess. Being a UK fashion blogger means putting up with tiny houses! I have a lot of jeans and clothes stored in tubs, folded up in cupboards and on shelves etc as well as a lot of shoes being piled up in boxes and it’s hard to reach them. It’s definitely not the dream closet bedroom I have always wanted, but it’s all I can make do with at the moment. That’s why I thought it would be a fun idea to share some inspiration that I found online and speak about how exactly I would have mine laid out if I could! You can see a couple of previews of my current room here and here. I know this photo above is from a store that sells a lot of jeans, however since I have over 400 pairs of jeans (I have been collecting them for 10 years), most of my closet will need to be dedicated to a jeans wall. I would absolutely love those boxed shelving units which you can get from Ikea as I can fold up lots of pairs and colour coordinate…

Celebrity Hairstyles I Love

As you know from my second Q&A I did, I have been quite adventurous with my hair in the past, it’s been a lot of different colours, short, long, mid length, I have had a fringe/bangs and more, but the past few years I haven’t been brave enough to try something new. I did a post back in August 2010 of celeb hairstyles I love and I thought I would do another, updated version. I like keeping my hair it’s natural blonde colour but I really want to try something new. I think I am too scared to go for a full fringe because I don’t think my face really suits it, I feel like my forehead is too short for a full one. I’ve often had the sweeping fringe but it quickly grows out and I don’t like going to the hairdressers much. I love having longer hair too, I had boy short hair for such a long time and I never want to go down that route again. I’m loving Hilary’s up do in the photo above, it looks really sexy and fresh. I also love Vanessa’s new short extensions she has had put in, they really suit her! I’ve got a thing for braids too but my hair is so thick and layered the braids never seem to hold up or work on me. I’ve also always adored curly or volumised hair! I think it’s such a nice look. I find that people’s style is just breaking the mould all the time now, everyone has their own style and look, it’s unique and it’s fun to see. Breathtaking Celebrity Closets

I am always in amazement when I look at peoples closets, especially celebrities, the amount of organization, home staging thought and clothes in them is just so surreal to me! I could only ever dream of having a closet as amazing as some of these! My bedroom pretty much is my closet, it consists of a double bed, a bedside table, a fish tank, 2 big wardrobes, a shoe shelf and a drawer unit, all of which are for clothes, shoes and accessories. It would be amazing to have a separate room for clothes though! My favourites in this post have to be Khloe Kardashian’s shoe closet above and below, it’s incredible! I also love Ashley Tisdale’s organization and denim collection as I do Eva Longoria’s. I’m very envious! Christina Aguilera has a ladder for her shoes and it’s all pink, I love that too! Which do you love? (Follow me on Twitter, Bloglovin and Facebook)
