There are two things currently on my wish list at the moment, one of them is the burgundy varsity jacket above and the other is the black buckle boots with metal below, both from Topshop. I’ve always liked the idea of varsity jackets as I think they look really sweet and romantic, but I never thought about owning one as I wasn’t in a sports team, a cheerleader or dating anyone who owned one, ha ha. Recently they have been getting more and more popular though and this one definitely caught my eye! I watched Beverly Hills Cop II on the weekend and completely fell in love with Eddie Murphy’s character Axel’s Detroit Lions varsity jacket in blue and white, it was amazing, but since I’m more of a burgundy girl, I picked this one up in store over the weekend! The boots below caught my eye when I was browsing the new in section on Topshop too. I love the black combined with the metal on them and the fact that the heel is only 3 inches high, so it wont be painful to walk around on for a long while. However, these boots are really expensive for Topshop so I don’t think I will be buying them anytime soon unfortunately! I also do need some new earrings to wear as a staple at some point, I tend to stick to one pair for ages! Do you like either of these items too?
One thing I have noticed that I do a lot is save random inspiring photos to my desktop, which usually clutters it up, but it’s worth it as I can get so much inspiration from the photos. What I thought would be a good idea and something that I haven’t done before, is to share some of my favourite pictures with you! I’m always on Pinterest (click here to follow) and Instagram (@LornaRaindrops) pinning and liking photos which have really caught my eye, and these are some of them. Do you do the same thing as me?
I couldn’t resist getting another pair of hidden heel hi tops! I know I said I was stopping at 4 pairs when I did my collection post, but I was really in need of some tan shoes and I knew these would be perfect! They are from Topshop and a lot different to most of my others due to the velcro strap across the ankle. They are also really comfortable and tan goes with everything! So I’m very happy to add these to my collection! I also picked up this Zara black, cream and burgundy colour block bag in the sale a couple of months ago, but I haven’t yet shared it with you as I wasn’t sure if I was going to keep it. It’s a little larger than I like my bags to be, however I think it will be perfect for when I go to London and on my travels as I can fit more things in it. I love the colour combination of it though, it combines all three of my favourite shades in an outfit! What do you think?
A little while ago I got the chance to interview the founder and designer of The Cambridge Satchel Company, Julie Deane. I’m a big fan of the bags due to their really pretty shape as well as the amazing colours they come in, so I wanted to catch up with Julie to see what inspired her and what’s next for the brand! You can read all of the interview inside this post. Also, if you love Cambridge Satchels like I do, I am giving away a 13″ Vintage Brown satchel right now! You can enter here. Lorna: Hi Julie! I know that you started out with nothing but your Cambridge Satchel idea 4 years ago, what inspired you to want to do satchels? Julie: I had been looking for a lovely leather satchel for my children and they were no longer available. So I took my pencil and started drawing the one I remembered from school, then brought it bang up to date! Lorna: You have come such a long way and I am so pleased that your company took off like it did, I’m a big fan of the satchels myself and have been for a couple of years. Did you ever in-vision The Cambridge Satchel Company being as successful as it is today? Julie: I honestly never thought of it – I hoped that I’d make enough for the school fees but I just kept focused and working as hard as I could. Don’t limit yourself, follow your dream, work hard and see where it takes you.. Lorna: How does it feel when you see a celebrity wearing…
I’ve really developed a liking for pretty and feminine dresses over the past year. I’m usually a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl with blazers and heels thrown in, but as it happens, I’ve realised I like Dresses just as much! I collaborated with Australian brand Supre to choose my favourite dresses from their online store to share with you. One of my favourites that I own (aside from the hi low black maxi) is this red ombre maxi dress above. I used this one as inspiration when choosing from Supre. I love every one of the dress/skirt combinations below and would like to wear them all! I think my favourite would be the cream lace though, I think that’s so delicate! What do you think of my choices?
Instead of making separate posts for my press day visits this season, I decided to compile them all together in one big post. Unfortunately for Spring/Summer 2013 I am not able to share with you the entire collections as it’s too soon, so I am only allowed to show a few photos for each collection. I did however choose the best ones and my favourite pieces so I think you will like it! This post includes the Lulu Guinness, Diesel, Coach, J Brand, Acne, MiH, Dodo and Pinko (in order) Spring/Summer 2013 collections. I do have some other brands, but those are not allowed to be posted until January/February time. Comment and let me know your favourites!
I collaborated with online store Katie’s to choose some of my favourite items, however I wanted to make this post a little different, so I decided to re-create one of my favourite outfits of my own with a couple of items from their store. I chose my black hi low maxi dress that I wore back in the summer months, to use as an inspiration for this outfit. I got the look with a Katie’s long length black Maxi Dress and added a gold necklace for detail. I know that I didn’t have any neck jewellery in my outfit, but I did have a lot of gold arm candy, so I changed it up. All you need now is a pair of heeled sandals and you will have the look. I know we are currently in autumn and almost winter, but I love looking back to summer and thinking about the warmer weather, it really cheers me up! Plus, this would be perfect for any hot country holidays you have planned!
I’ve actually been fairly good recently and not bought many clothes at all. The last thing I bought was my KG by Kurt Geiger Winona boots last month as I have been trying to cut back, I always get this impulse issue, but now I wait a few days and decide if I really want something. I’m also wanting to get a new pair of heels, I’ve only been buying boots lately it seems, but my feet get cold so easily, which is why, but I think a pretty pair of platforms or stilettos would be great. I fell in love with a few things on the Zara website and I went shopping there on Sunday, I picked up this amazing denim jacket which is padded and has a fleece lining on the buttons, sleeves and collar. I originally wanted a Topshop lighter blue denim jacket with fleece that I saw a while back, but it’s not been released yet, even though it was due to drop in September, so I think it’s been cancelled. My boyfriend and I decided that this one was a great alternative and it fits really well and it so warm, so I love it! I was worried it was perhaps too blue, but in person it’s a lot more subtle. This is the other item I bought from Zara, it’s a grey blazer with faux leather contrasted sleeves. I always fit Zara blazers so well, they have the best fit for my shape out of any other brand I have tried and this one is so cute! I love the contrast with it as…
