Interview With Julie Deane, Founder Of The Cambridge Satchel Company

A little while ago I got the chance to interview the founder and designer of The Cambridge Satchel Company, Julie Deane. I’m a big fan of the bags due to their really pretty shape as well as the amazing colours they come in, so I wanted to catch up with Julie to see what inspired her and what’s next for the brand! You can read all of the interview inside this post. Also, if you love Cambridge Satchels like I do, I am giving away a 13″ Vintage Brown satchel right now! You can enter here. Lorna: Hi Julie! I know that you started out with nothing but your Cambridge Satchel idea 4 years ago, what inspired you to want to do satchels? Julie: I had been looking for a lovely leather satchel for my children and they were no longer available. So I took my pencil and started drawing the one I remembered from school, then brought it bang up to date! Lorna: You have come such a long way and I am so pleased that your company took off like it did, I’m a big fan of the satchels myself and have been for a couple of years. Did you ever in-vision The Cambridge Satchel Company being as successful as it is today? Julie: I honestly never thought of it – I hoped that I’d make enough for the school fees but I just kept focused and working as hard as I could. Don’t limit yourself, follow your dream, work hard and see where it takes you.. Lorna: How does it feel when you see a celebrity wearing…

My New Mulberry Mini Taylor In Sycamore

Many of you already know that I have been on the search for a Mulberry Mini Taylor in Deer Brown literally for about 15 months. It sold out in the stores and it never appeared in the outlets and I also missed one on eBay some time ago as I got outbid. Since then, I haven’t been able to find one, let alone get my hands on one, much to my disappointment. Mulberry brought out a new colour this Autumn though, called Sycamore, and I fell in love with that one! It’s sort of like a mustard, but with a brown tone to it, it’s so beautiful, the shade matches the leaves perfectly. I am very happy to finally have a Mini Taylor as the shape is one that I have been fond of for so long. So without further ado, here is my new Mulberry Mini Taylor in Sycamore. I actually think I may love it more than Deer Brown now as the colour is just that little bit more vibrant! You can find it online here at Selfridges.

My Designer Handbag Wish List From Harrods

I have collaborated with one of my favourite stores, Harrods, to create my handbag wish list and share it with you! I have chosen 8 Designer Handbags, 4 of which are Mulberry (my favourite) and they are all bags that I would love to own! My obsession with bags has developed so intensely over the past coupe of years and I am always on the look out for which ones I would love to add to my ever growing wish list. Above is the Mulberry Bayswater Tote in Chocolate which I think is absolutely gorgeous! I love the Chocolate colour and the tote version is such a cute take on the classic style. It would be great if you were going away on holiday and you needed some extra room for your things, but want to keep it stylish! Another one of my favourites, Marc by Marc Jacobs. This is the Flipping Out bag and I think it’s so beautiful! I love the combination of black, brown and cream with the different textures. Plus, I think the shape is adorable! It would be a dream come true if it came in a mini version!

I wanted to share these two new Marc by Marc Jacobs purchases from Shopbop with you! You all know I am a huge Marc by Marc Jacobs fan and I have been saving for the Karlie in Blossom for a while and I finally managed to snap it up! I also had a Shopbop voucher which meant I could get the Fluoro Lime iPhone wristlet case! I absolutely adore the iPhone case, it’s so cute and fun as well as practical. Plus I adore the bright pink Blossom colour of my Karlie! It can now match my Karlie in Dandelion! Do you like them too? You can buy Marc by Marc Jacobs bags/purses here. Lulu Guinness Autumn/Winter 2012 Press Day

I attended the Lulu Guinness Autumn/Winter 2012 press day at the beginning of this month in London (along with a few others) and these are the photos of the collection. I haven’t included all of the pieces, but I have included most of them and my favourites. Quite a few items have transitioned into the new season collection from last season, like the Lips clutches, the phonebox phone holder and a few other things, as they seem to be great sellers. Like normal, I love the studded, crystalised and floral print Lips clutches, the phonebox phone holder, the Lulu profile head pieces, the lips purses and some of the British inspired bags and purses. The tea cups and macaroon stand was also so pretty! I couldn’t resist taking a photo of that! I think it looks adorable and suits the Lulu Guinness brand perfectly! There are quite a few photos in this post, check them out and let me know what you like the most! Hopefully you love Lulu Guinness like I do! I will be posting the new Nicholas Kirkwood collection next week too! (Follow me on Twitter, Bloglovin and Facebook)

Falling For Blossom From Marc By Marc Jacobs

I first saw the Marc by Marc Jacobs Karlie clutch in Blossom last year as a pre-order on Luisaviaroma. I instantly fell in love with it then because the Karlie is one of my favourites (I have it in Dandelion). I was recently browsing Shopbop, like I do almost every day, and all of the new Blossom bags are out! I’ve featured my favourites here, the Lil Ukita (above), the Karlie (image 2), the Phone Wallet (image 3) and the Fold Over Purse (image 4) and I am currently saving up for one! Pink is my all time favourite colour and I think the Karlie is the one I want. I do love the Lil Ukita, but it seems like it’s just too big for me. The Phone Wallet is also really cool, I’ve been seeing a lot of them about lately, but I just couldn’t justify the price on it. If only I had tonnes of money! All of these bags and more Blossom styles are available on Shopbop.com where I got these images. (Follow me on Twitter, Bloglovin and Facebook)

My New Marc by Marc Jacobs Bars & Bells Bag in Scarlet

You may have remembered (when I showed my bag collection to you here) that I mentioned there was a Marc by Marc Jacobs bag that had caught my eye and I planned to buy. This is it! It’s the Marc by Marc Jacobs Bars & Bells Cross Body Bag in Scarlet. I have always been looking for the perfect red bag, since I didn’t own any shade of red in a bag at all, and I think this is it! I usually like to go for the deeper reds, the more richer and classier colours, but I fell in love with this bag. The colour reminds me a lot of poppies, but it’s a little more red since poppies have an orange undertone to them and this bag doesn’t. It’s a little bigger than the usual size I go for, which is what I wanted as sometimes I do need a bigger bag, but it’s not too big and it’s not heavy at all! I’m no good with heavy bags! I love its simplicity, there is minimal hardware and the closure is magnetic. It’s adorable! Plus it has a super fun lining! Much more bright than my other Marc by Marc Jacobs bags! I bought it from Shopbop.com here as that’s the only place that stocks it at the moment. I looked for it everywhere else and couldn’t find it anywhere! That’s ok though since I adore Shopbop! It comes in Navy and a colour block Black and White too. I can’t wait to wear it soon and show you in an outfit post! What do you think of it?…

My Bag Collection

As promised here is my bag collection to celebrate my blogs 2nd birthday which was on 10th March 2012. It took me a while to do these photos because I didn’t realise how many bags I had! I think I might have too many actually! I put them in two different piles, one being non designer bags (which make up most of my collection) and the other is my designer bags. I have also included some close up photos of all of the bags in this post too. Above photo from left to right is: 1st row – River Island, Topshop, River Island, Topshop. 2nd row – Topshop, ASOS, River Island, Topshop, River Island. 3rd row – Peruna, Topshop, Topshop, ASOS, Topshop. 4th row – Urban Outfitters, River Island, ASOS, FCUK, Topshop. 5th row – Mary¬† Frances, Mary Frances and AVON. I realised after making this post that I seem to love Topshop and River Island bags. They do make up most of my collection because I think they are cute and they are not expensive either! Now on to my designer bags (below), which I have collected 7 over the past couple of years now. The best part is I never paid the retail amount for any of them except my Mulberry Pink Denim Lily and the MbMJ Dandelion Karlie. The Mulberry one I saved for months for! I am going to list these individually and where I got them from. Top left is my Marc Jacobs Bruna. I got this from The Outnet back in 2010 with 70% off the retail price! Top right is my Marc Jacobs…
