Love Is: Chanel Velvet Bags For Autumn Winter 2015

Chanel Velvet Bags For Autumn Winter 2015 How amazing are these velvet Chanel bags? I’ve had a not so secret crush on Chanel for a long time now, but I never really gave the brand a look in because I couldn’t afford anything from them. I saw these beautiful Classic Flap and Boy bags in velvet though and my heart went weak. Adam and I had checked with the New Bond Street Chanel boutique in London and the Classic Flap bag in Bordeaux velvet (the burgundy above) actually comes in the Mini Flap version as well, which would have been perfect for me in every way, but it’s entirely sold out everywhere. It’s been impossible to find for weeks. We found out on the weekend though that the Bordeaux velvet also comes in the Small Boy bag (like the ones below) and that’s just as gorgeous! Both of these bags in various sizes come in sapphire, green, coral, yellow, fuchsia and black as well as the burgundy, so there’s literally something for everyone’s personal taste! Those of you who know me will know that burgundy is my all time favourite colour for clothing and accessories and velvet is one of my favourite fabrics, especially for Autumn and Winter, so you can probably tell that these are literally a dream come true for me. But, without me revealing too much at the moment, there may be something very, very special being revealed on my fashion blog very soon! Any guesses as to what bag it might be? You might want to keep an eye on my Instagram and Snapchat (@LornaRaindrops) to…

My Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAB Backpack in White

Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAB Leather Backpack I wanted to do a review on my Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAB Backpack in White as it’s been a bag that has got me through so much lately! Since I left school many, many years ago, I’ve never really worn a backpack since as I had to for such a long part of my childhood, but when I saw how cute this one was, I knew I had to get it. I originally purchased it for my holiday to St. Ives as I needed something that would carry all my essentials, not be too heavy or big and would allow me to be hands free. After searching for a while, this backpack ticked all the boxes for me! The MAB Backpack comes in two different sizes, a mini version like I have, or the original larger version. I will admit that I was more attracted to the various colours the larger one comes in, but being quite small framed I was aware that the larger size would overwhelm me and probably stick out the sides on me and be visible from the front, which is why I opted for the mini version. This one actually weighs about 0.54kg, which is heavier than most of my bags, but since it’s not cross body and it’s supported by both my shoulders, I can’t feel it. It’s about 11.5 inches in height, 8.75 inches in length and has a depth of 4.25 inches, so it really does fit everything I need in it. In the main compartment I could fit an umbrella, a toilet roll, my purse,…

Louis Vuitton Alma BB Epi Leather Bag in Fuchsia

Louis Vuitton Alma BB Epi Leather Bag in Fuchsia Review I’m super, super excited to share with you my band new Louis Vuitton Alma BB Bag in Fuchsia Epi Leather! I have been saving up for this bag for quite some time now after falling in love with it online months ago. I wasn’t sure I could do it, spend so much money on the bag, however when I went into the Louis Vuitton boutique on New Bond Street in London last weekend just to take a look at it, my boyfriend said my eyes lit up as soon as the sales assistant took it out of the dust bag. I’m sure they did as I was completely mesmerised by the colour! In person it’s this deep and rich shade of pink/red/purple which is just so delicious you could eat it! After trying it on, I did not want to take it off. I was initially worried that the bag would be too heavy for me, like most designer bags are, but this one is really light. I picked it up with a little force behind my lift and was shocked that it actually lifted so easily. For me, that’s incredibly important as you know I can’t carry heavy bags, so it’s the perfect weight! Everything about this bag is literally stunning. The grain of the leather from the epi print is gorgeous and I like how subtle the branding is, only having faint LV logos in various places. I like that I can carry it with a cross body strap or with the top handles and the interior is…

Rebecca Minkoff Denim Love Cross Body Bag

Rebecca Minkoff Denim Love Cross Body Bag I’m sure all of you know by now that my weakness is denim. Being a denim blogger, I am obsessed with it to the point of owning around 450 pairs of jeans (the last time I counted) in all different fits, washes, weights, styles and more, but I don’t only love denim in jeans, I love it in all sorts of things. This is why when I saw that Rebecca Minkoff had designed her famous Love Cross Body Bag in denim, I literally fell off my seat! What more could I ask for? I was hoping it might come in the mini size (it now does!) if I’m being picky, but I actually love this size more than I thought I would! Isn’t it stunning?! The bag itself is around 9.75 inches in length, 5.5 inches in height and has a depth of about 3.25 inches, making it quite a decent size for everything you want to carry. It has a really cool black and white floral printed lining too, for those of you wondering. I always love the different linings that Rebecca Minkoff uses and the different prints on the dust bags, so if you are interested in that too, this one comes with a satin navy dust bag, which looks really nice. Getting to the fabric, it’s got quilted denim on the front and plain denim on the back, all of which is encased in navy leather trims and details. These colours really compliment each other so well! The Love Cross Body also features a silver twist lock fastening and a…

My New Rebecca Minkoff Mini Love Cross Body Bag

I have a new love in my life and it’s this gorgeous Rebecca Minkoff Mini Love Cross Body Bag in Black! Isn’t it just adorable? As you know, I’ve always been partial to tiny bags as I don’t carry a lot of things with me and I also can’t carry anything too heavy, so this one is just perfect! My style has changed a lot this year, well more so in the past few months actually, so I tend to be drifting towards more classic pieces and staples, opting for versatile colours and items that have a classy look to them. That’s why I completely fell in love with this bag. The Mini Love Cross Body does remind me a lot of the small version of the Chanel Boy Bag that I see on other fashion bloggers and in boutiques, but it has a lot of differences to it. The one thing I got obsessed over though was the fact that it also has a black enamel chain and hardware as seeing gold and silver chains on black bags just usually puts me off of buying them. If I want something black and classic, then I need it to be black all over! You can see the size of it against my legs here, so you can see just how tiny it is. I can fit my iPhone, a very small and slim purse, a lip balm, small set of keys and some tissue in there. So there is enough room for the essentials! So this makes my second black bag now, my other one being my Balenciaga Mini City…

My New Marc by Marc Jacobs & Rebecca Minkoff Bags

I recently added two new beautiful bags to my growing collection, after having seen them online. Sometimes I am at fault of being too much of an impulse purchaser, however most of the time, I like to really think about what I want to buy and if I need it. I can say that the latter was the path I took for these new bags! This beautiful Marc by Marc Jacobs Too Hot To Handle Flap Percy bag in Hot Coral (above) had been on my wish list since I saw it in the Marc Jacobs boutique in London, back in April. The colour is just fantastic and it had been about a year or more since I purchased any new Marc by Marc Jacobs bags, so I thought it was about time. The Flap Percy is a gorgeous style, it’s really slim, lightweight and elegant, plus it works as a clutch or a cross-body, depending on how you want to wear it. The colour is a cross between a neon pink and orange, making that perfect shade of coral that I love. It doesn’t have much of a depth to it as it’s quite flat, more like an envelope style clutch, but I don’t carry many items around with me, so it’s just fine for me! Isn’t it gorgeous? If you love this one too, you can buy it online here. Next up (below) is my new Rebecca Minkoff Quilted Mini Affair bag in Tortora. You may remember me posting about this bag in my Currently Craving May wish list, so a couple of weeks ago I decided to…

My Favourite Bags

I thought it would be nice to share with you some of my favourite bags that I own. I usually always get asked what my favourite jeans are, so I thought it might be a good idea to also share my favourite bags with you too! You will have noticed already that I have a lot of smaller bags, often the mini versions or small cross-body bags as I don’t like bigger ones. Sometimes if I am travelling quite far, I will need a bigger tote to carry all of my things in, but for day to day things, I always have really small bags. I have delicate shoulders that tend to pop out of their sockets so I can’t carry anything heavy without causing myself pain. Plus, since I’m quite small, bigger bags tend to overwhelm me and make me look even smaller, which is often another reason for choosing smaller bags too. So, onto my 8 favourite bags from my collection! Above is my Balenciaga Mini City Baby Diam Bag in Black Suede. You all know already that I sold about 20 pairs of jeans to get this bag! There was no way that I could ever afford a Balenciaga or even save for it at a fast pace, so the only solution was selling a lot of my own things. It was definitely worth it though! I don’t really own black bags and this one has had so much use already! It’s made with such attention to detail, it’s soft, it’s not too heavy and it looks beautiful too! It couldn’t be more perfect if it tried…

My New Balenciaga Mini City Baby Diam Suede Bag

I honestly can’t believe that I am about to type this, but I actually now own my dream bag! The Balenciaga Mini City Baby Diam in Black Suede! You may remember that I mentioned it in a blog post a little while back after falling in love with it in Harvey Nichols in London back in November. I never thought that I would own this beautiful bag because of its price, but I managed to make it happen because I sold a lot of my stuff. I took two days sorting through all of my jeans and clothes and then listed about 58 items on eBay to sell in order to raise the money for this beautiful bag. I managed to make up about 75% of the price and was able to put the other 25% myself from having saved up. Other than my MacBook, it’s literally the most expensive item I own, in clothing terms, which is really scary, but I am over the moon that I finally own this Balenciaga. It’s so gorgeous in person, it’s beautiful in every way possible and it’s the perfect size! I’ve already worn it out twice, but on one occasion it rained so I had to put it inside my waterproof bag that I have for winter so that it didn’t get damaged. But seriously, I couldn’t be more happy that I managed to get my dream bag! I really didn’t think it would happen and even after selling so much of my stuff I still had reservations about the price, but I would have only spent the money on random things…
