Gucci GG Marmont Velvet Mini Bag Review

Gucci GG Marmont Black Velvet Mini Bag Review I’m really excited to share with you my brand new bag – the Gucci GG Marmont Black Velvet Mini Bag! I’ve literally been selling so many things from my wardrobe in order to save up for two new bags this year as it’s been 7 months since my last smaller bag purchase (can you believe the last bag I bought was September 2017…) and I’ve been wanting something new. I’ve sold so many clothes and raised enough money to buy this one and am still saving for my second. But first up is my new, extremely beautiful bag, which I cannot wait to wear and show you in outfits! If you’re interested in this bag yourself, check out SSENSE right now as it’s still priced lower and everywhere else now has the price increased version. Don’t miss out, the links are just below! Let me know if you have any questions. The Design & Details I’m pretty sure most of you are familiar with the Gucci GG Marmont Velvet Bags in all sizes – they have been the bag of the season for 2017 and this year as well. It’s a classic flap bag style with a really sturdy, press button lock/clasp (similar to the Gucci Dionysus) so it stays securely shut. It’s got chevron velvet with stitching as you can see to create a gorgeous quilted pattern, including a heart on the back. The hardware is antique gold or brass, making the GG logo and the chain much more durable as it’s already got that vintage appearance and you wont be…

12 Must Have Gucci Bags For 2019

12 MUST HAVE GUCCI BAGS FOR 2019 It’s funny how things change. I always used to say I disliked Gucci, I never liked their monogram print, I thought they were old fashioned, but then they got a new designer and all of a sudden they are re-branded and are the brand of the year last year, with everyone coveting their pieces and going nuts for them! It was an insane 2018 for them with their belts, bags, and shoes, as well as their hoodys and famous slogan t-shirts, so 2019 is going to be just as big. I’ve compiled a list of the 12 must have, best Gucci bags for 2019 so you can keep up to date and be on trend! I already own the Gucci Dionysus Mini Taupe Suede Bag and the Gucci GG Marmont Black Velvet Belt Bag, which I absolutely adore, but there’s always room for more right? My first venture into the brand was actually my Gucci Double GG Leather Belt and since then, I’ve ended up acquiring the Princetown Slippers as well… I just can’t get enough! I am yet to own one of their clothing pieces because I find the price too expensive for something you’d only wear a few times, so I will mostly only save up and spend my money on their bags and shoes, as you can wear them forever and get your money’s worth. With that in mind, check out my top choices below! *Updated as of 29th January 2019. GUCCI GG MARMONT VELVET MINI BLACK BAG This one is my absolute favourite! It’s very similar to my belt…

Saint Laurent Nano Sac De Jour Bag Review

Saint Laurent Nano Sac de Jour Bag Review It’s been 9 months since I bought my Saint Laurent Nano Sac de Jour Bag in Light Grey as I got it in April 2017. I didn’t review it at the time as I wanted to give it more of a test run and then just didn’t get around to it. Quite a few of you requested a review though as the Sac de Jour is one of Saint Laurent’s most popular bags. It comes in numerous sizes, but this one is the Nano and it’s the smallest one from the range. I do believe that this Light Grey colour is not available anymore as it was extremely hard to find when I got it in April! The only place that had it in stock was My Theresa (where I purchased it from) and it sold out pretty fast. It is available in the larger size on FarFetch though (click here to see it). Since the Nano Sac de Jour is always a part of their bag collection every season, this review is relevant to anyone looking to get one since it’s always available in many different colours, day in, day out. So lets get to the review. Buy this Saint Laurent Nano Sac de Jour bag at: Net-A-Porter | My Theresa | Luisaviaroma | Harrods | Matches | FarFetch The Size & Shape You’re probably already familiar with the iconic Saint Laurent Sac de Jour shape. It’s very similar to a Celine Luggage style bag in the sense that it’s square with top handles, but can also be worn as a…

Gucci Marmont Velvet Belt Bag Review

My Gucci GG Marmont Velvet Belt Bag Review I am SO excited to be sharing this new review with you! Honestly, so excited! You probably all know that I have a little Gucci obsession! I’ve got two pairs of the Princetown loafers (brown and embroidered black), two belts (tan and black), and a Gucci Dionysus Bag, but my latest acquisition is the new Gucci GG Marmont Velvet Belt Bag! I had been eyeing up this bag for months, mostly in the magenta colour, but after saving up for it and debating with myself for a couple of weeks about what colour would actually be better for me, I opted for black as it’s the most versatile – I didn’t think the magenta would go with everything, especially not burgundy, and we all know I live in that colour in Autumn/Winter. I wasn’t sure how it was going to be in person, but the moment I got it out of the box and tried it on, I was completely smitten and in love. Not only does it come in the prettiest box and dust bag (which always excites me – see below), but the belt bag itself is incredible, which is why I’m sharing this review. So, check out the scores below and lets get to it! Scores Out Of 10: Design – 10 Size – 10 Fabric – 9.5 Belt – 10 Price – 9.5 Details – 10 Colour – 10 Versatility – 10 But it here at MATCHES | NET-A-PORTER | SSENSE | GUCCI UK | GUCCI US The Design I know not a lot needs to be said…

Gucci Dionysus Mini Suede Shoulder Bag Review

Gucci Dionysus Mini Shoulder Bag Review I’m really excited to be sharing another review with you! I got a new bag a couple of months ago and hadn’t shared it with you until I wore in one of my recent outfit posts (see here). It’s the classic Gucci Dionysus Mini Shoulder Bag and I am in pure love! I bought it from My Theresa back in May and have been cherishing it ever since. I’ve been a huge fan of the Dionysus style for some time, as you probably already know from mentioning it and including it in wish lists, as they do so many cool ones! Have you seen the parrots version or the stunning burgundy velvet option? My wish list just got longer! But this review of mine is on the Taupe Suede version, but the same goes for any fabric in this Mini Shoulder style I believe. I actually saw a girl pass me in town wearing this exact bag in the monogram canvas style, so we were almost twinning and we were checking out each other’s bags, ha ha! So check out my thoughts below! If you have any questions, just leave them in a comment as well and I will get back to you. My Rating: Size – 10/10 Weight – 8/10 Colour & Suede – 10/10 Hardware – 10/10 Style – 10/10 Versatility – 10/10 Price – 8/10 Buy this exact Gucci Dionysus Bag at My Theresa here Shop the full Dionysus collection in the US here & in the UK here The Style I’m sure many of you know about the Gucci Dionysus…

The Cambridge Satchel Company Neon Coral Barrel Backpack Review

The Cambridge Satchel Company Barrel Backpack in Neon Orange As you know, I really love the colour coral, it’s literally one of my favourites. I also have a thing for backpacks that look really classic and smart, so when I saw this Cambridge Satchel Barrel Backpack in Neon Coral, my jaw dropped open. I did think about it for a couple of weeks and wonder if I actually needed a neon coral bag as it’s quite striking and bold, whereas I usually go for more muted colours when it comes to my bags, but I couldn’t resist the shape, the design, and the colour in the end so I purchased it! This backpack to me is the perfect mix of cool, young and interesting mixed with classic details. The Barrel reminds me of the normal Satchel, but with a lot more features which makes it fun. Its rounded edges and reinforced top handle are really smooth and contoured to the hand, so when you carry it with the handle, it feels just right. I can’t even explain how smooth the leather feels, it’s lovely to just stroke. I know that sounds weird, but it has a really nice sensation, it’s really that smooth. It also features adjustable leather straps which use buckles to lengthen or shorten them, but my only little negative about that is sometimes you can feel them against your back, so it’s not completely comfortable, but it depends how tight you wear it. The buckles on the front use magnetic closures so those are really easy to open and close, much more so than the older classic…

Valentino Mini Lock Bag in Light Ivory Review

Valentino Mini Lock Bag in Light Ivory Review – The Good & The Bad I’m quite excited to be doing another review for you, as I haven’t done one in quite some time, and it’s on a bag style I have wanted for years! This is my new Valentino Mini Lock Bag in Light Ivory that I got from FarFetch. I have many points on this bag to get across, both good and bad, but it really is stunning. As I didn’t get it from the boutique itself though, I’m not sure if it comes in a gift box or not, but mine came from the Biondini Paris boutique on FarFetch and it only came in its dust bag, inside the stock cardboard box which has info and stickers on it. This could be because it’s lighter and makes the shipping cost less, but I would have liked a gift box for it. So anyway, lets get to my review! Size – I wasn’t sure at first which size Valentino Lock Bag I should go for (the Small or the Mini) so I spent a good amount of time with a measuring tape seeing which suited my size most. I decided on the Mini as you know and it measures 12cm in height, 6cm in depth, 17cm in length, and 35cm on the chain strap. I’m 5ft 4 myself and around a UK 8 in dress size, and as you can see from the modelled photos, it’s pretty much the perfect size for me, which I am pleased about. I think the Small might have been too large, despite its…

My Lulu Guinness Cassis Powder Coated Lips Clutch

My New Lulu Guinness Cassis Powder Coated Lips Clutch I’ve been a fan of Lulu Guinness for many years now. I used to attend her press days in London a few years ago and they were amazing! I stopped going to press days a couple of years ago as they were extremely stressful and didn’t benefit me in any way with what I do now, but I always remember the Lulu Guinness ones. One reason would be because she always placed her famous Lips Clutches together, on a display (see here and here) and it was so visually pretty, it made me want one. Years have gone by with my admiring Lulu’s Lips Clutches, but I’ve never gotten around to purchasing one, until now. I had my reasons and a few were that I didn’t want one with embellishment, and I didn’t want one with the shiny perspex, plus I didn’t have much use for clutches back then as I tend to favour cross-body bags. Things changed however when I saw this gorgeous Lulu Guinness Cassis Powder Coated Lips Clutch in the sale on her website! With over 40% off, I felt like now was the right time, especially as I had just gotten some money for Christmas to spend on something nice – I decided this was it. As you can tell by the name, this Lips Clutch is Powder Coated. This makes me so happy as like I said, I didn’t want the shiny perspex as I wanted one that was a little more muted and this one is matte all over. There’s three different colour variations in…
