I Got My First Tattoo

I Got My First Tattoo! As you know, it’s been a topic of discussion in my blog posts for quite some time (remember my inspiration post?). It’s actually been almost a year, and I finally did it! I got my first tattoo! So this blog post will be dedicated to the process, who I went to, with photos of having it done, and talking about it, as well as ideas for future tattoos! I’ve been excited to write this blog post for months actually, and more excited about having it done, and now the time is finally here for me to share it with you all! I wont lie, with my high anxiety levels, I was extremely nervous and scared leading up to it, and close to having a panic attack an hour or so before, but I pushed through it and I felt extremely comfortable as soon as I was in the chair. So, lets get to it! Check my Instagram highlight by clicking here to watch videos of me having it done! Who was the tattoo artist? I did a lot of research online for tattoo artists that were experienced with my Ehlers Danlos Sysndrome type skin, but more importantly, I wanted someone who was extremely talented at space/galaxy style tattoos. After a lot of research last year, I came across Joe Phillips (Space Bangers) on Instagram (check his Instagram portfolio here) and immediately fell in love with his work. When I messaged him for the first time in the summer, he had already had a client with EDS too, so knew about it and had experience in…

That Wrap Red Dress

The French Connection Red Wrap Dress For those of you who saw my trip to Clarks Village blog post, you will remember this Red Wrap Dress that I picked up from French Connection as it seemed to be the star piece of the day! Of course I decided to style it the day after as we were amidst a heat wave, so it couldn’t have come at a more perfect time – it was meant to be! Honestly, I couldn’t wait to wear the dress, and I was excited to see how I wanted to style it for the first outing. I went with my Jimmy Choo Melba Boots and my Gucci Marmont Velvet Mini Bag in Black, as I think red and black together are really striking. I also chose my Ray-Ban Round Double Bridge Mirrored Sunglasses, and a gold watch. I of course matched a bold red lip to the dress as well, as it wouldn’t be complete without that. My favourite thing about this French Connection Red Dress is the colour and print of it. I’m always a fan of a wrap dress as I find them extremely flattering to an hourglass silhouette, and the bold, ruffle sleeves really help to hide your upper arms if your conscious about them. The deep neckline is really pretty, which coupled with the length of the dress is really modest. I cant fault it really! I’m usually a size UK 8 – 10 in my clothes, sometimes a 6, however I had to take a size UK 12 in this French Connection dress as it ran a bit smaller around…

A Casual Look For Cardiff

A Casual Outfit For Cardiff When I travel to a different place, in this instance, the wonderful country of Wales, I always like to see how different the backgrounds are from Bath when it comes to doing the outfit shoots. These photos were taken just outside of Cardiff Central train station and since I hadn’t been to Wales for a while, they finally finished all the renovations they were doing here and it’s now a large, open space with a fancy blue/grey building in the background. Here in Bath there are hardly any open spaces, since it’s very much a Georgian and Roman city, so everything is very close together and old, which I think is beautiful, but for getting a bokeh effect or a really blurry background, it’s not ideal. I included a couple of iPhone shots here too so you can see what I mean with the background. iPhone is clear all around, while the camera (Nikon D610 with 85mm lens) is wonderfully blurry. Of course we do get that sometimes here, but not to this level, and it was also nice to be using a background that wasn’t the classic yellow/beige Bath stone. I’m heading back to Wales soon for my tattoo so I plan on doing more outfit shoots there. Getting to my outfit, this is what I wore when I went for my tattoo consultation and since I was travelling a lot, it made sense to wear something comfortable and easy, so this is my go to. Much like you saw with my brown jeans outfit, I’m really favouring this look. I went with my…

My Trip To Clarks Village

My Trip To Clarks Village Shopping Outlet I’m really excited to share this blog post with you all! Those of you who follow me on Instagram will know that I went to Clarks Village a couple of weekends ago for a shopping trip. Now for those of you not familiar with it, Clarks Village is an outlet shopping village in Street, Somerset, here in England. It was actually established in 1993 on the site of the old C&J Clark factory buildings. There are over 90 high street and designer retailers at the shopping centre, along with numerous coffee shops, restaurants and food stops. There’s so much going on there, which made such a great day out! If you have followed me for a long time, you know what my relationship with collaborations and brands is like, and that I rarely take them on if I don’t like the product, concept, or idea behind it, which is why you hardly see collaboration style posts here and instead I focus on much more authentic content. This means that you know when I do work with a brand or company, it’s genuine, and that’s how I feel about this one. I’d always heard things about Clarks Village, mostly from my dad who loves it there, and some friends, but had actually never been myself, so when they reached out and spoke to me about heading along for a shopping experience and to share it with all of you, I couldn’t have been happier! The journey from Bath to Clarks Village is about 50 minutes by car, so I decided to go with my…

A Brown Jeans Kind Of Day

Brown Jeans With Brown Tones First up, who can spot the Mini Cooper car in the above image? Ha ha! Anyway, as you know, I really love neutrals and I adore mixing them together and creating simple looks like this, for comfy, casual wear. I used to like doing it with greys, but I am mostly enjoying the warmer shades of brown now and this is one of my go to looks that I am wearing frequently lately. I was wearing a new pair of L’AGENCE Margot Skinny Jeans in Brown this time, giving my Graphite pair a break, but as they are older season and I picked them up in the sale, they are no longer available online unfortunately, but I have linked the Biscuit pair as they’re equally as amazing. I paired these jeans with my Mango Knitted Tank Top and wrapped my Gucci GG Belt around the middle to tie it together. Since it was a little chilly, I went with my Pretty Little Thing Cardigan as well to create the base. Now as the weather is warming up, I tend to gravitate towards more accessories, so I doubled up two different shell necklaces, the white beaded one from Mango and the gold one from Sashi. I then wore my new Ray-Ban Round Double Bridge Aviator Sunglasses which I am obsessed with right now, I can’t get enough of them! For my shoes I opted for my new Fila Disruptor in Feather Grey Suede (it’s more beige to be honest) as I loved the white pair so much, I wanted more of a nude shade, then finally…

Currently Craving Wish List: April 2019

I feel like I’m forever saying this, but where did this month go? It’s almost the end and we’re at my Currently Craving Wish List monthly feature again! There’s so many pieces that I have been coveting lately and I have compiled them all together into the look book feature again for you. As always, you know how to shop it, just scroll left or right to see the items and you click them to purchase. First up though, before we get to the look book, I love this gorgeous gold necklace from Aurate New York. It’s a circle in rose gold and I love how these style necklaces resemble eternity as the ring, much like a wedding ring, is never ending. It’s solid gold and very dainty, and since I’m into small necklaces now, it’s elegant and perfect! What do you think of it? You can buy the exact piece here.     Now getting to the look book, there’s 24 pieces here for you to choose from and I’ve made sure that they’re all Spring/Summer appropriate so you can’t go wrong. Again, like last time, I’ve included some options from Mango as I’m really loving their collection this season. So first up you will find a subtle pinstripe linen blazer (which I need to buy) and a sleeveless tailored jacket in the same stone colour. There’s a beautiful scarf, a floral halter top (again, I need this) and a pair of L’AGENCE Margot jeans in a light blue which I have been craving. There’s a few great necklaces in there too, a wicker shell bag, which is so…

Pastel Pinks For Easter

Happy Easter Everyone! Happy Easter! I know I sometimes used to do a costume for Easter (see here, here and here), but this time I decided to be mature about it and do something like an Easter style outfit instead. What did I have in mind for that? Pastel shades. I’m often reminded of pastel pink, blue and green, so I went with pink and I love it. I wasn’t overly sure on the outfit at first though as it’s a combination I put together while trying to recreate a look from Allsaints (see here). I have since purchased that dress though and you will be seeing it soon, but for now, I’ve gone the custom route! For my look, I was wearing a Topshop Satin¬†Skirt, which was fairly affordable and comes in multiple colours! I then layered over the top my Topshop Cropped Fluffy Jumper, to try and re-create the style. For my shoes, I went with my RAYE White Boots to really make it look sophisticated, and finished it off with my The Cambridge Satchel Company Small Emily Bag in Lilac, to bring the Easter vibes. I do think the combination of the white and pink together is definitely Spring appropriate! What I’m looking forward to though is actually styling the Allsaints Tierney version itself, to see how different I can make it, or see how different it actually looks compared to my own creation. Since this type of look is completely different to what I would normally wear, especially the satin skirt, I’m really interested to know your opinions on it. Do you think it suits me?…

It’s A Teddy And Fila Partnership

A Teddy Coat With Fila Disruptor Trainers Happy Thursday! It’s almost Easter, which feels like it’s been coming around for ages! I remember seeing chocolate eggs in the shops just after Christmas, ha ha. I’ve got quite a few plans this weekend, which I’m looking forward to actually, so stay tuned on my Instagram stories to see what I’m up to! I’m going to keep this blog post short as well since there’s not a huge amount to say about this comfy, warm outfit I wore when it was chilly. I was wearing my Topshop Teddy Coat which I layered over my Urban Outfitters Chenille Jumper in White. I of course went with my L’AGENCE Margot Jeans in Graphite again, a firm favourite, and opted for my Fila Disruptor II Trainers to tie it together. This has actually been a uniform I’ve been wearing for a while, I was always reaching for this coat and these trainers, so it became a staple for me. As it’s warming up though I’m switching things out a little and can’t wait to wear less layers! Anyway, I hope you all have a wonderful Easter weekend! Don’t eat too much chocolate! As always, let me know what you think of the outfit. Lorna xx. *This post contains affiliate links to help keep this blog running.
