(Coat – Similar, Leggings – Similar, Bag – Exact, Boots – Exact) I’ve had this coat for over a year and I’m sure some of you will remember my outfit posts from long ago. I absolutely adore it and decided it was time to wear it again. I’ve actually received so many questions about it, in person and from my blog, that it deserves another posting. I even got asked where it was from when I wore it yesterday (this outfit) by the waitress when I was out to lunch. I’m wearing my Topshop Burgundy Coat, a Zara Faux Leather Top, my Denimocracy Leggings, my KG by Kurt Geiger Winona Boots and my Mulberry Mini Taylor in Sycamore. These leggings are also old and one of my favourites, they are really thick with a waist band and back pockets, but just like leggings. They are great to wear! I decided on my Kurt Geiger boots to keep the black theme, but wanted another pop of colour with my Mulberry bag as I adore burgundy and mustard tones together. What do you think of the look?
As promised, here is a post dedicated to my hidden heel high top collection. I sort of became a little bit obsessed with these many months ago and have slowly been buying a few pairs here and there throughout the year. I now have 4 pairs and I am pretty happy with that as I have black, burgundy, camel and beige, so I think I am all set with colours as I have all of the colours I need. They are always my go to when it comes to just grabbing a pair of shoes. They are so comfortable, you don’t even feel the heel at all.
This year has been one of the better years for me in terms of my blog. I re-designed the whole site all by myself, but the thing that sets it apart from the other years is I know make my outfits the main focus of my fashion blog as well as getting an increase in views every single month. I can’t believe I hit over 50,000 page views each month now, it’s doubled since last year. I’m hoping 2013 will be even better! But as I do every single year, here is my annual round up of outfits from 2012 that I liked the most and were my favourites. The post would be huge if I included every single one, so I only ever include my favourites. I feel like my style has matured a lot over the year as well. I still love colour and mixing textures, and of course wearing jeans, but I tend to favour a lot of neutrals and simplicity now too. I’ve definitely matured a bit in terms of fashion. I love that fashion always reflects who you are as a person too though and represents your personality. So, which ones do you like the most?
(Vest – Exact, Jacket – Similar, Jeans – Similar, Heels – Similar, Umbrella – Similar) I know living in England rain is expected a lot, but the amount of rain we are getting every day is insane. I was even woken up last night from hail stones. It’s really becoming quite difficult to take good photos as they come out blurry most of the time and the rain ruins a lot of outfits I want to wear. Anyway, I have always loved the look of colour block jackets, but I haven’t been able to find a good burgundy/black one at all, so I decided to layer my new burgundy vest over my trusty black jacket and I love the illusion it creates! It actually looks like a colour block jacket. I’m wearing a Forever 21 Faux Leather Burgundy Vest, my Topshop Faux Leather Black Biker Jacket and Glam Black Suede Heels, my Current/Elliott Stiletto Skinny Jeans and an Elle Black Umbrella. I did purchase this vest when I was in Birmingham a couple of weeks ago, along with a few other things. I have also been busy doing some sale shopping at Zara and Topshop, which I will share with you very soon! I love the after Christmas sales as you can get some amazing deals! I saved up a lot of money and used my Christmas money to purchase some things I have been wanting. Anyway, what do you think of the outfit? Have you ever thought about layering a vest over a jacket?
A little while ago I got the chance to interview the founder and designer of The Cambridge Satchel Company, Julie Deane. I’m a big fan of the bags due to their really pretty shape as well as the amazing colours they come in, so I wanted to catch up with Julie to see what inspired her and what’s next for the brand! You can read all of the interview inside this post. Also, if you love Cambridge Satchels like I do, I am giving away a 13″ Vintage Brown satchel right now! You can enter here. Lorna: Hi Julie! I know that you started out with nothing but your Cambridge Satchel idea 4 years ago, what inspired you to want to do satchels? Julie: I had been looking for a lovely leather satchel for my children and they were no longer available. So I took my pencil and started drawing the one I remembered from school, then brought it bang up to date! Lorna: You have come such a long way and I am so pleased that your company took off like it did, I’m a big fan of the satchels myself and have been for a couple of years. Did you ever in-vision The Cambridge Satchel Company being as successful as it is today? Julie: I honestly never thought of it – I hoped that I’d make enough for the school fees but I just kept focused and working as hard as I could. Don’t limit yourself, follow your dream, work hard and see where it takes you.. Lorna: How does it feel when you see a celebrity wearing…
Pretty little snow globe that I got. I added some snow to the photo to make it look pretty. Christmas day was really quiet for me this year, I spent it at home with my close family and I just watched a lot of movies as well as spent time enjoying my presents and things like that. I prefer it when it’s quiet as I’m a quiet person as you know! I’ve included all of my presents that I received from my family in this post, but the bag was a gift to myself. Did you all have a nice Christmas? What gifts did you get? My gifts all laid out from my family. Close ups are below. The most beautiful french crystal necklace from my boyfriend. It’s just like a raindrop of sapphire. It shines beautifully and looks so pretty! I love it very much! My Christmas present to myself, an exclusive to ASOS Cambridge Satchel in Wine Matte. The colour is intense! I’m also giving away a Cambridge Satchel in Vintage Brown, enter here.
(Jeans – Similar, Top – Exact, Jacket – Similar, Bag – Exact, Boots – Similar, Watch – Exact, Necklace – Exact) Even though I didn’t wear this outfit exactly on Christmas day (I wore it two days before for Christmas with my boyfriend), I am still counting it as my Christmas outfit. Yesterdays actual outfit was my pyjamas for a quiet Christmas at home with my family, so I didn’t think that would be very worthy of posting, ha ha. I’m wearing my Black Levi’s Skinny Jeans, a Burgundy Peplum Top and Brown Shearling Boots from Topshop, a Sequined Jacket c/o of American Eagle, my Mulberry Lily in Oak, my Urban Outfitters Elephant necklace, Daniel Wellington Watch and Bracelets from ASOS and Topshop. I received this jacket in the mail last week from American Eagle as a Christmas gift that was completely unexpected, and I think it’s adorable! I love sequins! I hope you all had a lovely Christmas yesterday though! What did you wear? I will be posting my presents and other photos from yesterday in a separate post soon! But what do you think of my festive outfit?
Merry Christmas everyone! I wanted to say that I hope you all have a lovely holiday spending it with family, friends and loved ones, and I hope you all have time to relax and enjoy the time together. I will be honest and say I am not usually a fan of Christmas, but that’s usually down to the fact that it’s just like a normal day for me and I always feel bad accepting gifts from people. But I know it’s more about spending the day together and enjoying each others company, so I hope you all get to do that and have a wonderful time! What do you think of the Santa hat? I borrowed it from my brother, ha ha.
