A Floral Dress With Kicks

A Floral Dress With Alexander McQueen Trainers

If you’re thinking that this dress looks familiar, it might be because you saw it when I went to Clarks Village a couple of months ago! Despite buying it on a whim in Urban Outfitters when I was in Cardiff, Wales, it’s actually become one of my favourite dresses as it’s so lightweight, colourful, and soft. Instead of dressing it up this time with a belt bag and heeled boots, I dressed it down and opted for my Alexander McQueen Oversized Sneakers (which you can tell I am obsessed with right now) and my Saint Laurent Nano Sac de Jour Bag and their New Wave Sunglasses.

If you have been following me on Instagram (@LornaRaindrops) then you might have noticed how much I adore these shoes as I won’t stop wearing them! I’m mostly loving trainers/sneakers in general with dresses and skirts at the moment as it’s such an easy combination. I love how it mixes a more fashionable and dressed up look with some more casual and cooler elements, which harmonises well. It doesn’t work with everything though as there have been some dresses I tried and it didn’t work out, but in general, it’s a look that I’m very fond of. Anyway, I hope you’re all well and have some great weekend plans! Let me know what you think of the outfit as always! Lorna xx.

I love the way they characterise the sneakers as “oversized,” as though they were about three sizes too large, which of course they’re not. And they work perfectly well with this dress. (I’m a sucker for florals, what can I say?)

I know! I think it’s just because they are chunky! Glad you like the dress, Charles!

It’s a beautiful dress and I love the casual shoes with it! I like wearing my converse with dresses and skirts – especially on warmer days (just hanging out for spring here, haha!)

Hope that you are having a lovely weekend! We are enjoying summer-like weather despite it being winter, it’s so nice! It’s supposed to get cold again soon in a final winter blast, brr!

Those are great-looking sneakers and I just love that dress – looks gorgeous on you! I will wear sneakers (but not my dad ones) with above-knee skirts but not with midi or maxi skirts and that’s just me. That look always looks great on everybody else but me :/ That phone booth with the flowers inside – what a great find for a photo op! Your pix are beautiful!

You’re not the only one! I don’t wear them with longer either as I’m too short, ha ha.

The sneakers and romper are nicely paired, nice to know that you have these sneakers. It’s reasonably priced in the site that you are referring. You look so cute in this outfit.

You’d feel warm in Germany with that dress Lorna 🙂 We faced a second heat wave (more of a blast wave actually, considering the scale of ice cream supplies depletion at the stores haha). Anyway, a wonderful dress with a very pleasant colourful print that underlines your hair colour. And, much to my surprise, it looks great next to the trainers (I’ve always thought dresses always demanded high heels 🙂 ) I like the way the trainers break the otherwise “more traditional” look. Something like the ketchup I guess, it’s nice that it’s sweet and not only sour.
    Greetings, Steven

Oh we had the heat wave here too! It got up to 33C in London a few days ago! Thankfully only 29C here, but it was enough to be roasting hot, ha ha. Really glad you like the outfit! You might like tomorrow’s as well as that’s another dress with trainers look!

What a lovely dress. So many colours in it – and I love the shot of you next to the floral phone box. I think the dress/sneaker combination is terrific – as you know, I think flat shoes look better than heels in most cases anyway… but that’s just my opinion. 🙂 The grey bag is a nice touch too. 🙂
