Our Second Trip To Lyme Regis In Dorset

Our Trip To Lyme Regis This Year

And I’m back! Like I mentioned in one of my previous posts, I was taking a full week off while I was on holiday. Usually I wouldn’t do that, but I didn’t think there would be much point in putting out content if I’m not here to accept your comments and reply to you, and I love that aspect of blogging, where I get to interact with you all. So now I am back from our trip to Lyme Regis in Dorset! Adam and I went there last year as well and loved it so much that we wanted to go again this year!

Unfortunately this year the weather was not on our side though, it rained on and off constantly all week, so we couldn’t look for fossils and we couldn’t go on any woodland walks either since it was closed off, and then on the last day, the sun came out for a couple of hours, before we were due to come home, and we got sun burned!

Anyway, there were moments of beauty in the evenings when the rain stopped for a while, and it was nice to be away, but I often find we never get breaks fully because we’re always shooting photos so that we don’t waste an opportunity. You can see all of the photos that we shot on my iPhone in this blog post, and of course separate outfit posts will be coming soon as well over the next month or so! Plus, at the bottom of this post, there’s a little new purchase surprise you might want to check out!

You can watch my Lyme Regis video highlights on Instagram by clicking here.

When the sun came out on the last day, Friday, the water glistened!

This was my outfit on the first day, a blue playsuit from H&M that I included in my wish list.

The houses in Lyme Regis are always so beautiful with their pastel colours!

Waiting inside the hotel for the rain to stop!

The coolest and most delicious fudge shop there in the town! All home made at the shop! I don’t even like fudge, but the mint chocolate and the chocolate orange was absolutely delicious!

Sunsets on one of the evenings. Truly so serene!

More pastel tones and hues!

A shot of my shoes on the shingle beach.

This was Thursday night, before coming home on Friday. It was magical.

This was while we were waiting under a tree for 1 whole hour for the rain to subside!

Another shot from inside Alexandra Hotel.

A look towards the other end of Lyme Regis, which we hadn’t really explored before.

Waiting inside the arcade, again for rain to stop, ha ha.

The sun came out, so quick, lets take a photo!

Breakfast each morning on the left, and Adam’s sandwich on the right.

This was such a pretty view and I loved the scenery! Can you spot how many seagulls there are in the left photo? There’s a bigger image of it at the top of this post!

I couldn’t get enough of this stunning view, and I still can’t!

Sunsets are just a thing of beauty when you’re at the beach.

We stopped off at the Mulberry factory shop at Shepton Mallett on the Monday, there was a bag I had been eyeing, so we went back in on Friday on the way home and I was there for about half an hour trying to decide. It was originally the Lily in Ruby Red that I liked, and had liked for over a year, but after seeing a scratch on the metal hardware and deciding red isn’t very practical, I went with another shade I’d been loving for a year called Rosewater. Now the issue was deciding which bag I wanted in this shade, the Lily or the Small Darley. I was torn. Originally I loved both, but I was gravitating towards the Lily, but given the fact it wasn’t discounted by much and was still over £600, while the Darley was £200 cheaper, it was really making my decision difficult. I love them both, but can you decide which bag I went for in the end? Left or right?

And finally, like I mentioned, severe sunburn! I’m still in pain from it now and it happened on Friday! I wont be making that mistake again of not thinking I needed sun cream even if it was raining. Anyway, I hope you enjoy my photos! Lorna xx.

Welcome back Lorna! It looks like you and Adam had a great time albeit, the weather. So many beautiful photos too and yes, nothing quite like the beach view to make it magical. Love the blue play suit you are wearing. I might be a bit biased saying that as I am romper and jumpsuit obsessed but nonetheless, it looks beautiful on you. I am guessing you went with the Mulberry bag on your left! Hehe Either way, it’s beautiful Lorna and it’s a bummer we do not have a Mulberry outlet here. I hope you are adjusting to the swing of things well and happy Tuesday!

It looks like you still had a fun time, even if the weather wasn’t the best! It’s great you got to shop at Mulberry too! Shame about the sunburn, hope it heals quickly for you!

I’m sorry to hear about your sunburn and bad weather, but I’m glad you still had a good trip. It really looks like an amazingly beautiful place. And the fudge really does look delicious.

Sunburn is nasty stuff, and the nastiest part of it is that you get it while you’re enjoying yourself outdoors. Life seems so unreasonable sometimes.

I used to grumble about those ubiquitous pictures of shoes, or sometimes of no shoes, until it dawned on me that the last thing in the world I wanted to do was discourage women with nice legs. 🙂

That’s how I get in the sun…so sorry Lorna.
But it’s still nice to get away even with the rain. Sometimes just not being home is such a wonderful break.

The Mulberry factory outlet is amazing 😀 Sorry to hear you got burned too! It’s crazy how different and stronger the UV rays are at the beach than in the city!

What a beautiful place to visit! Sometimes the rain and cloudy skies make for better photos because it gets so contrast-y. Were all of those really shot with you cell phone?!? They’re great! I love your romper and the shorts and that bag is great (I guessed the one on the left, too). Looks like you had a wonderful time despite being rained out aAND sunburned!
