An April Life Update

This month has been eventful so far! It’s taken me a while to put everything together and decide what I wanted to include, but I especially wanted to talk about this week just gone as it was so busy! I spent a few days in Birmingham, which I will talk about in the individual sections, but I attended the Shawn Mendes concert that I had been waiting for for a year, I visited Sea Life, explored some of Birmingham, I’ve been to Wales a bit before that etc.

Things I recently watched are: the movie Focus (really good), and The Durrells is back on the TV for its final season! I absolutely love it! Also just completed Fleabag which is interesting. I watched a movie called Duck Butter and hated it, so I don’t recommend that. I’m listening to a band called Cigarettes After Sex as they have some really good music, so I recommend them for mellow tunes. Niall Horan’s new song with Julia Michaels called What A Time is beautiful, it’s on repeat! I think that’s about it at the moment for that.

So on Tuesday 9th April 2019, I went to the Shawn Mendes The Tour concert at Arena Birmingham and it was one of the best nights of my life! Literally, SO AMAZING! I’ve been a Shawn fan for over 3 years and his music is my favourite, plus of course he’s extremely handsome, not gonna lie! I can’t wait to try and book tickets for the next tour. You can watch my highlight on my stories on Instagram for clips of the songs and me dancing by clicking here, ha ha.

These are some snaps we took in the hotel that we stayed in in Birmingham. We were about a 5 minute walk from the Arena, so it worked out well. It was a really nice area around Broad Street too, which is when we went to Sea Life the next day, but I’m not sharing photos of that in this blog post, it might be in another one as I haven’t put them on stories yet. Due to all the walking though and having to stand at the concert (we had seats but everyone stood so I couldn’t see unless I stood) my hip was really hurting, so it took a few days to recover at home. I’d definitely visit that area again though, I really liked it!

This is a gorgeous piece of artwork from a lady I found on Instagram. I purchased it and am in love! It’s done with alcohol inks and the colours are stunning, her Instagram is here, @ArtbyJesseke. It’s going to go on my wall behind my bed, and my room is in the home stretch now! It’s almost done! I can’t wait to share it with you soon, it’s been one long journey!

This is a vegetable and lentil soup from Amy’s Kitchen. I found their foods as they’re gluten free and cornflour free, so it’s been a life saver! Definitely recommend them if you have food intolerances and want healthy options!

A little preview of an outfit I wore last weekend.

Just a simple selfie in pink!

A snap of me in Cardiff, Wales, when I was going for my tattoo consultation.

Another outfit preview and a look at my new Fila Disruptor sneakers in Beige!

Two new items I bought. The floral dress from Urban Outfitters and the chambray playsuit from Mango. There’s numerous other things as well that I’ve picked up and will share soon!

An outfit details shot!

And finally a few mirror selfies in a cropped jumper and my new brown jeans.

I’ve got some exciting things coming up as well, I’m heading to a shopping centre on Friday (more to come on that), celebrating Easter, and then to London the weekend after, it’s mine and Adam’s 11 year anniversary coming up at the end of the month, then my tattoo in May. Busy, busy! What have you all been up to? Lorna xx.

Wow such a busy month! It’s great you got to go to the concert 🙂 I’m loving your bags too of course, I really want a Balenciaga mini city but the budget can’t stretch to it at the moment – the mac with the stitched strap is so cute! 🙂

Hope that your week has started well 🙂 It’s another busy one here!

The weekday wear linkup is live on my blog, I’d love you to join! 🙂

As long as it is a good kind of busy, it’s all good. Great shots. I love your outfits, especially the casual one with the jeans and sneakers. You look so gorgeous.
Fabulous looking dish. It’s always good to find nice healthy options.

I know I’m way behind in reading so I’m hoping that the Sea Life photos are in a future entry as I’d love to see those. 🙂

I have to confess that I don’t have a clue who Shawn Mendes is! But, I’m glad you had such a great time anyway… Maybe I’ve reached the age where I’ve stopped taking much notice of new music and just stick to what I know… I everyone hits that point eventually. 😉 Mind you… having said that, I’ve just discovered the music of Kate Wolf – 33 years or so after her death and I’m listening to her all the time at the moment. 🙂

I love the brown jeans that you’re wearing in the final pair of shots – wow, what a great fit and what a lovely colour too. 🙂 I expect I’ll find them in outfit posts as I proceed with my catching up. 🙂

I haven’t shared them yet actually, I didn’t know if I should or not, but I can certainly send you some via Instagram DM if you would like me to? Just let me know!

And shame on you for not knowing who Shawn is, ha ha! He’s amazing! I don’t really like new chart music either and I couldn’t barely tell you more than 3 people in the charts these days, but Shawn’s music is amazing! Totally love it 😀

Oh, yes please! I’d love to see them – I love that kind of thing. 🙂

3 would be 3 more than I could name! 😉 Especially as I’m no longer in a job where radio music is piped in. 😀
