A Leather Jacket & Jeans In The Snow

Boda Skins Leather Jacket In The Snow

I’m feeling mixed emotions while editing these snow photos. While looking outside it’s very spring like with the sun shining, birds chirping, and blossom on the trees, but I really enjoy looking at the wintry scene created in these pictures that we took a while back.

I was wearing my Boda Skins Kay Michaels Leather Jacket in Antique Brown, and I layered it over my fluffy white jumper from Zara, for extra warmth. For my jeans I went with my PAIGE Margot’s and then finished it off with a statement lip and a Topshop Bobble Hat. I know this isn’t necessarily appropriate for the snow, like most of my other snow looks weren’t (see here, here and here) but I enjoy creating outfits that really play off the white background, but are neutral too! I only have one more snow outfit to share with you after this as well, and that one is more snow appropriate thankfully, so you will be pleased to hear that, ha ha!

How are you all anyway? I hope you’re well! I feel like I keep up to date with a lot of you on Instagram and I regularly chat there, but I like to know that you’re all doing well here too since not all of you are over on Instagram. What do you think of this look? I’m keeping the text short so it’s not too overwhelming as you’ve seen a lot of snow pictures already! Lorna xx.

Snow does make for a very dramatic background and these photos are beautiful. I love the combination of colors. I think you succeeded in creating an outfit that works really well with the background.

I love that leather jacket and you are so cute in that beanie! I have tried but I just can’t pull off beanies, haha! 🙂 I’m not much of a hat person and only wear sun hats as I have to because of the sun protection needed here!

Hope you’re having a lovely week with a nice weekend ahead of you 🙂 We have a busy but fun one planned!

Awh that’s a shame that beanies don’t work for you! I imagine it doesn’t get cold enough to warrant one though, so that’s lucky, ha ha! Glad you like everything, Mica, thank you!

    Hi Lorna
I am moto obsessed too! I love this color of brown on you! It will last for years and go with so much. The quilting detail is so nice and the fit looks great as well. I have a bit of a collection as well 🙂

    Hi Lorna,

it is indeed so unfair to post snowy photos at the dawn of spring ha ha 🙂 But we didn’t have a real winter here anyway so I guess at least I can enjoy the snow here.

I like the outfit very much, especially this denim-leather combination (very original) and I disagree that it’s not so appropriate for the season…I mean you have a hat, right? 🙂 And nothing matches the boldness and the chill of the sequin bodysuit photoset so far anyway so I think this is even kind of overclothed compared to it 🙂
I like the colour combination of the jacket, your hair and the hat especially against the white background. The jacket looks so…visible that way. A very good choice…again. What is actually the exact colour of the hat? At first I thought it was light brown, but now I am not so sure.

We bought a hi-fi wi-fi sound system a couple of weeks ago, pretty loud actually and with a powerful bass, so now our neighbours are finally very friendly and happy when they meet us 🙂

Have a good start of the week today!
    Steven

You make a good point about being overdressed in comparison, ha ha! Glad you like it so much! The hat is a light brown, or beige shade. It’s hard to even know, yellowy undertones to it, but more a beige than anything 🙂 That hi-fi system sounds cool 😀

Luckily we chose a good one. For someone, who goes into detail about so many things, ironically my buying choices are very often primarily governed by mere primordial impulse. So if something catches my eye just by the way it looks (what a tautology, huh?), it is almost certain that I buy it, even if it may be technically inferior to other brands and models.

I have a question about the jacket. I think it is a very versatile item like the skirt (that skirt!) that can be combined with a wide range of other pieces and I think I saw it already in some other posts of yours. Am I wrong or is this really the case? I would like to see it in combination with other items for comparison. Sorry, I just saw the link to your post in January 2018, but still I have the impression that I’ve seen it more recently. Maybe it’s just so remarkable.

Yeah, you saw it here as well: https://raindropsofsapphire.com/2018/02/05/how-to-wear-a-boda-skins-kay-michaels-leather-jacket/ and the other times I’ve worn Boda Skins, it’s been my black version. Here’s the search page which brings up all the results! https://raindropsofsapphire.com/?s=boda+skins This is actually only the second time I wore this brown one as an outfit though, but there will be many more to come! It is extremely versatile, it goes with so much. Which skirt did you mean?

And that makes sense, I’m often governed by the same rule. I like what I like and that’s often enough for me to buy it. It’s always all about the details and something aesthetically, ha ha.

Thank you for the links, Lorna. Yesterday we were at IKEA to buy a new swivel chair and…here I am carrying the box with the chair to our car, wondering whether it will fit in the trunk when a young couple passes by and the woman is wearing the black Boda Skins jacket. I mean what are the odds, right? At least I think it was this model after staring long enough for her boyfriend/husband to start staring back at me 🙂

Anyway, that confirmed my opinion that the brown one looks a bit better. It has a very pleasant brown colour (not always the case with brown; I’ve seen awful variations of it). Also, on the brown jacket I can clearly/better see all decorations and structure: around the shoulders and the forearms as well on the waist. I mean I would have recognized it more easily yesterday for example. And the shiny metal zippers look better against the brown.
When you touch both: do you feel the same? I mean the fabric, how does it feel? The brown one looks softer. I have two colour variations of the same model of trousers and they differ a bit when I put my hand on them.
I meant the corduroy beige skirt. The Skirt! 🙂
            Greetings, Steven

Hi Steven! Ha ha, how funny is that that you saw it? Coincidence! Or meant to be! The brown one is actually a lot stiffer and not as soft, the black is the softest and the most supple. The brown is called Antique so it’s slightly distressed and finished with some sort of coating, where the black is just nappa I believe. So yeah, despite the brown looking softer, it’s not at all! I do like the colour of the brown one though and you’re right, it can be a very hard colour to get right, especially on leather. It can be too yellow, too dark, too orange, it’s tricky! But the details do definitely stand out more on the brown, but that’s purely because it’s a lighter shade and I chose gold hardware I think! I went for silver hardware on the black!

This might be just about the cutest bobble hat I’ve ever seen. 🙂 I like the look of bobble hats on other people but I tend not to wear them myself because the movement of the bobble as I walk around feels really weird on top of my head! 😀 I wish I could wear them more happily…

This out is terrific. I love this jeans and leather jacket combination. The jeans have a suggestion of ice and cold – which goes so nicely with the location. 🙂

Ha ha, I haven’t heard that before, perhaps try a tighter fitting one? The bobble for me doesn’t move, or if it does, I don’t feel it, so it might be dependent on the hat! 😀
