20 Must Have Stylish Teddy Borg Coats

20 Must Have Stylish Teddy Borg Coats

Teddy coats are my absolute favourite! I’ve loved them for a couple of years, but I never purchased one because I wasn’t sure how to style it without it making me look twice my size, and frumpy. When I saw the one on Topshop though last month, I bought it instantly, then tried it on in the mirror to be disappointed by how massive it was, but it wasn’t until I tried it on with an outfit (this one) that I actually saw how cute it looked and how it works wonders when you get the proportions right.

Now they’ve quickly become my go to style and I can’t get enough, so much so that I have ordered this Topshop one in burgundy (below) as it was just released, and of course I’m eyeing up the tan brown from H&M, just to cover all my bases, but how many teddy coats is too many? Ha ha. My biggest plus point for teddy coats though is how warm they are, seriously. Usually coats can let the chill in, but due to the thick insulation of these with the piled up borg material, it lets no air through (well mine doesn’t anyway) so it acts like faux fur in the sense that it’s heat trapping and incredibly warm.

Since a borg teddy coat is so easy to just throw on, whether I have skinny jeans on with a crop top and boots, or leggings paired with trainers, it works really well because of the proportions, so I always look stylish, and adorable at the same time – isn’t that a winning combination? I’ve found the key to making it balanced is by having leggings/skinny jeans/bare legs on the bottom so that there’s no bulky extra fabric around the bottom half. The coat itself is really quite thick, so you need to make sure it’s just the coat that is the bulkiest item in the outfit, so it doesn’t overwhelm your frame. I’ve also seen most ladies wear them this way, and men, so it’s all about the legwear staying close fitting.

Since my new found love for teddy coats is here to stay, I thought it would be nice to share my top 20 choices of teddy coats and teddy jackets (or borg, depending what name you call the fabric) with you so that you have some options too! I’ve mostly chosen the affordable high street options, but there are a couple of more expensive ones. I think the H&M styles look fantastic, and I really do recommend the Topshop versions in either of the colours as mine is just perfect! It’s as much a go to casual coat for me as it is a slightly dressed up version. So here are my 20 options below! Just click the names below each image and it will take you to buy them. What’s your opinion on teddy coats? Lorna xx.

I love these coats! They look so soft and cosy and I’m pleased to see that they are around for another season!

Sadly I think it’s too warm here (even in winter!) to need this kind of coat, so I just admire them on others. You picked some great ones to share! 🙂

Hope that you are having a good week so far! Another hot day here, but I have the day off to enjoy it 🙂

Yeah, I was going to say Australia is probably too hot for a thick coat like this, ha ha! Such a shame, but at least you have warm weather!

I just love the Teddy coats and you’ve showcased some really good ones. That blue one from River Island! I’m going to have to get myself one. Good job on figuring out the balance so you don’t look huge in one – you look great in it!

Teddy coat is definitely a must-have! Can’t go wrong with any of your picks dear. Love the classic brown and camel, but blue is pretty cool as well.

They all look really warm and cosy. I’m astonished by the array of different styles and colours and shapes that they are in in these selections. Possibly my favourite of the ones you have listed is the Trucker Jacket one. It looks suitable for much of autumn and spring whereas I imagine a lot of the others would only get a lot of use in winter?

Looking at the photos I can really see your point about wearing these coats with skinny jeans or suchlike. The one photo where the model is wearing a dress just doesn’t look right at all.

So… How many will you be getting? 🙂

Ha ha! Well I have the one in beige as you know, but I’ve also picked up a blue one, just contemplating if blue suits me or not as it’s not a colour I usually wear other than denim, so I will let you know 😀

I think it’s safe to say that blue suits you. 😀 It’ll be interesting to find out what you wear with it.
