5 Designer Shoe Styles You Need For Autumn

5 Designer Shoe Styles Every Girl Needs For Autumn

We all love and adore our shoes, but when a new season rolls around, it’s time to think about getting the right options. I personally love my designer shoes, especially Italian or French made ones as the quality is outstanding, so I thought I would put together a blog post showcasing the top 5 designer shoe styles that us ladies love for Autumn, with my personal touch on it. Each of these styles brings something unique to the table, and you can create any outfit you can imagine with any of these shoes or boots, so they really are a staple in every wardrobe if you’re looking to create a capsule that you can use every day, so I hope you like the list! I’d love to know your thoughts too!

The Over The Knee Boot

I couldn’t make this blog post and not include over the knee boots as the first option could I? You know I live in them during the Autumn and Winter months, and they are the perfect staple for making outfits look so chic! There’s lots of designer over the knee boot options, but for me I personally love Stuart Weitzman as they make some amazing, fashionable, but sexy boots! You really cannot go wrong with them at all! If you need some style inspiration at all, you can check out my outfit posts that contain over the knee boots, but they usually pair well with skinny jeans and knitwear, or with dresses/skirts and bare legs. They’re amazing, as I’m sure you know.

The Pump/Stiletto

The pump or the stiletto heel is the most classic and common of all designer shoes, and one of the most iconic or famous styles is the Christian Louboutin Pigalle. Of course there’s a lot of other options from so many different designers, including Loriblu, Jimmy Choo, and more, but if you’re creating a wardrobe for yourself that needs to be versatile, a pair of black or nude pumps is the way to go. These colours go with absolutely everything and are really the only two you need from a neutral, versatile point of view. However, if you already own nude and black and are looking to make a statement, going for a bold stripe or print (like these) will really make a difference to your overall look!

The Sneaker/Trainer

Now since the dad sneaker trend was made popular by Balenciaga a little while ago, everyone is reaching for their comfy trainers to style with their outfits. No longer are sports shoes with a smart blazer or coat forbidden, instead it’s welcomed. My favourites are my Golden Goose Superstar Sneakers and my Balenciaga Race Runners as they both manage to make outfits incredibly sleek and put together, without looking too casual. I can dress either of those up with a trench coat, overcoat or something smart, and it looks as good as it would do with heels. They can also be styled with skirts and dresses these days, with some knitwear thrown over the top, so don’t miss out!

The Fancy Flat/Loafer

If sneakers are not really your thing, then I recommend a fancy looking flat or loafer. Gucci is my favourite for this as they have the Brixton and Princetown, two amazingly classic shoes that are so comfortable and slim fitting, you can’t go wrong. They look perfect dressed up with pretty much any Autumn outfit going! Obviously there are many other options though and you can look at designers like Valentino, Giuseppe Zanotti and plenty more. If you’re looking to go for more Italian made loafers, Loriblu also have some great options as well.

The Ankle Boot

Even though these are last, it doesn’t mean they come up in that order. I wanted to sandwich this list with my two favourites, and ankle boots are one of them! I can never get enough of them during Autumn and Winter and cannot be without them! I tend to favour chelsea boots mostly as they’re so versatile, but you can’t beat a heeled ankle boot either, especially if they have a chunky heel, or if you want something flat, the Chloe Susanna boot is one of my personal favourites. I recently picked them up in Beige as well and I am in love! Ankle boots go with everything from skinny jeans and leggings to dresses with tights, so they’re a staple for certain.

– So these are the top 5 designer Autumn shoes or boots that I love for this season and they will take you right through the Winter as well. I know kitten heels are quite popular at the moment too from brands like Dior, but I didn’t include them as they can be too cold and don’t suit everyone, whereas I think all of these are versatile enough to suit each of us. Let me know what you think!

Gorgeous shoes and boots, they’re all very classy. You have such good taste Lorna. The ankle boots I love and I’ve a similar pair in leather and not quite so much studs in them which I wear with black skinny jeans. But my favourite outfit now Autumn is upon us is to team my ankle boots with leather skinny jeans, a cropped biker jacket similar to the All Saints ones you featured a short while ago along with a black fedora hat and a silver or purple scarf for a burst of colour.

Hi Lorna, I’ve only just seen your reply to me as someone else added to this topic today. I’ve a few pictures somewhere, but don’t know how to post them here. I’d happily add them – Can you help?

Hi James, unfortunately as this is a blog there’s no option to upload images as this is my personal website, it’s not a forum, so I’d happily see via email if you want to send them!

These are great options for autumn and winter! For some reason I never find flats or sneakers that fit me well but I love ankle boots, basically wear those all year round. This post really inspired me to get my over the knee boots back out, like you said they look so good with a knitted jumper xx

Can’t go wrong with any of these, especially the pump/stilleto. It can easily elevate your look, even when you’re wearing jeans and tee.
