Swarovski Remix Collection Review

My Swarovski Remix Collection Review

This is one blog post I have been excited to share with you for weeks now! Ever since I saw the Swarovski Remix Collection when it first launched, I loved it. I thought the concept was fun, elegant, and fashionable, as well as versatile, all mixed into one. I actually had a whole lot of fun doing the photography for this as well in my own way, so I’m really happy to share it with you. It’s taken me a little while to build up my collection (remember my wish list?), and I of course want more, but I’m really happy with what I have so far, so I thought I would share this review with you.

First of all, I wanted to mention that a few of these pieces were gifted from the lovely John Greed (who you know I’ve loved for years) and the rest are what I purchased myself. But before I get to the review, I wanted to point out that John Greed have an amazing promotion going on right now, so if you’re wanting a few items at once, it makes sense to shop with them! Each bracelet has an RRP of £59, so the deal is: 2 bracelets for £109, 3 bracelets for £149, 4 bracelets for £189 and £40 for any additional ones you want. That’s some great savings and they’re a fantastic reputable store too!

What Is The Swarovski Remix Collection?

If you’re not familiar with the brand’s most popular and most coveted collection, read on. It was made popular when Swarovski had, Karlie Kloss, Chiara Ferragni, Naomi Campbell, Anthony Mackie, and other models as the face of the line last year for the Holiday campaign (remember this advert? It was even on TV!) and everyone was hooked! The collection features a large selection of different bracelets which have innovative magnetic ball closures, so you can either join them together to create wrap bracelets and necklaces, or you can wear them singularly and add on elements from their amazing selection of charms. They recently just added new charms including Swarovski crystal pave initials, bright birth stones, sparkly symbols and more! I think this is amazing as you can make your bracelets unique and personal to you, and who doesn’t love a customisation option?

The Bracelet Sizes

Small is 17.5cm  |  Medium is 18cm  |  Large is 18.7cm

I actually didn’t know that the bracelets came in multiple sizes. It doesn’t tell you online, and the ones I received originally from John Greed were a size small and quite fitted to my wrist, so I assumed they were a snug fit, but when I went into the Swarovski Boutique here in Bath, to pick out the two that I had wanted for ages (the red/orange strand and the green/blue strand) they told me they actually came in various sizes, so I picked up a medium in the green/blue and a large in the red/orange, for variation.

As you can see from the bracelets on my arm, this is a great way of wearing them separately, but together, as they fit in various places on my arm. So if you’re ordering online, be sure to check the sizes if possible as they usually have a unique code. I included that photo of my three different bracelet sizes together (above), for you to see the lengths, and I will say that they do make quite a difference on your wrists, even though they’re only a little bit smaller or bigger than each other – the large especially.

The Different Remix Charms

Swarovski are releasing so many different charms for their Remix collection all the time! As I mentioned, they have some symbols, birth stones and initials for their latest line, and you can see three of mine from this 2018 series above. I’ve got the Turkish Eye, the Hamsa Hand, and my L initial for Lorna. I loved the rose gold colouring of these three in particular and how they matched with the blue and green stones in the bracelet. Of course they have so many more to choose from, and in time I am sure I will acquire more, but for now I like the simplicity of just a few. They can be quite fiddly to attach to the bracelet as the clasp on the charms is very small and stiff (to prevent it from falling off or being lost) but as long as you have nails, you get used to it. I do think the charms are one of the selling points of the Remix bracelets though. I saw a quote from Swarovski’s Creative Director Nathalie Colin below, and I love the fact that they’re designed to interchange and go with your mood!

Jewellery is an expression of our individual personality, our style and taste. It is very personal and can therefore give a strong identity to every single look. At Swarovski, we believe in empowering women to express themselves through our jewellery, to shine brightly and let their sparkle light up the world all day. With the Swarovski Remix Collection, every woman can follow her mood of the day, and create the jewels that best illustrates who she is. Sparkle meets the ultimate in versatility through glittering letters, birthstones and symbol charms to offer women a palette of options to create one-of-a-kind statements of style and offer seemingly endless ways to sparkle all day, every day.

The Versatility

I think what I love most, other than the gorgeous rainbow stones and beautiful concept, is the fact that the Remix collection is so versatile. I love wearing these three rose gold bracelets together on my wrist as the multicoloured stones work harmoniously together, however, when you connect them all together with the magnetic closures, they create an elegant, stunning necklace. I’ve worn them like this a few times and it’s so glamorous, which just proves you can dress them up or down, depending on your outfit or your mood. It’s not often that you can get jewellery that’s so free flowing and interchangeable, but you can go from adding charms onto a bracelet for daytime, removing the charms for a dinner, and then wearing it as a necklace with a cocktail dress. I love it! You can of course have daytime necklaces too if you choose some of the more funkier options like the Evil Eye or the Hamsa Hand! I think those two make great daytime bracelets too without charms. Don’t you think it’s really cool?!

My Velvet Collection Case

I had to feature this as it’s amazing! It was a free gift last month as I purchased two bracelets at the same time from the boutique, and it came with this free navy velvet case! It zips closed with two zippers, each with a Swarovski crystal on the puller, and it’s also got little crystals all over it as you can see. Inside the case is 5 compartments so you can fit 5 bracelet strands in them, as you can see just below, as well as a little slip pocket on the lid which you can keep the charms in. I haven’t seen this case available for sale, but I included it anyway just in case it becomes available again.

If you’re like me and you know about magnets and the fact that the North and South sides have to be kept together in order to keep their strength, and you’re wondering if the magnetic closures will become weak when laid out like that in the case, don’t worry! I had this exact worry, but Swarovski thought of that already and there’s magnets inside the case at each end, so the ends of your bracelets stick to those magnets when stretched out. Phew! I was happy when I saw this, so I’m really excited to use the case and I keep all of my collection inside it, just like the photo above! Plus, as you can see, I have one spare space and that’s for my next one that I really want – this cute little gold bee that’s just adorable! Hopefully I will get it for Christmas!

My Overall Opinion

Honestly by now, if you got this far, and by the sheer fact that I was super excited to share this review with you and spent hours on the photography, you have probably realised that I love the Swarovski Remix collection! I think the selection is amazing, there’s over 100 pieces to choose from, and there’s literally a bracelet to suit everyone’s tastes in silver, yellow or rose gold, plus there’s so many charms! My only want would be that you could choose the bracelets and charms as they are, in the same design, but in all three metals. So if you like one bracelet, you can select your metal, rather than having to buy that design in the specific colour it comes in. The same for the charms, I love them, but I would like the base metal to also come in rose gold so I can add them to my bracelets in rose gold. I generally don’t like mixing coloured hardware together. That’s just a small qualm though, because overall the Swarovski Remix collection is stunning! They make amazing gifts, and at £59 a bracelet and £25 a charm (less if you buy multiples) they make great presents and they wont set you back too much. For something like this with the elegance and how fancy they look, I was expecting them to have a much higher price tag! I give the collection 9/10. I only knock a point off due to the idea above, plus the fact the charms can be a bit fiddly to open.

Don’t forget to head over to John Greed and take advantage of that discount! The pieces from this review that I own are listed just below for you:

So there we have my Swarovski Remix Collection review! If I have left anything out or you have any questions about sizing, the magnetic closures etc, please leave a comment below and I will of course be happy to answer you! Thank you to the lovely John Greed for the gifting of some of these items, and I was also really happy with the service in the Bath Swarovski Boutique when purchasing my other bracelets. The ladies were lovely! What do you think of this collection? I hope you liked the review and enjoyed the photos. The bracelets were wonderful to photograph! Lorna xx.

This collection looks stunning, I love the little rainbow stones, such a simple yet beautiful idea. And it’s great that you can add gems to them, allowing you to personalise the bracelets even further. I think the best thing is that you can easily switch from bracelet to necklace, I love how you have style the little rainbow stones with the white jumper, makes them stand out even more. xx

I have one in silver! A friend of mine gave me a matching earring (a drop earring but 3 of the stones in a line). It was not from Swarovski though but they sure match! 🙂
