A Simple Rain Outfit With Stutterheim & Hunter Boots

A Simple Rain Outfit With Stutterheim & Hunter Boots

Everything was against us when we were shooting these photos. Despite me absolutely loving the rain and enjoying puddle splashing, doing photos is incredibly difficult! This day was literally torrential rain for the first half of the afternoon as Adam and I had gone to lunch with my dad, but as the hours went by, it slowly started to get less, meaning we could attempt photos. Really poor lighting was upon us though, my hair was a mess… but I didn’t let it stop me. I wanted to be able to share this rainwear outfit you and that I was determined to do, so these are the photos we have! You might have seen some funny IG stories on the Sunday too of me skipping and twirling in the rain, ha ha, but let me tell you what I decided to wear.

I had bought this Stutterheim Stockholm Raincoat in Potato last month I think it was, as I had got it in the sale and for an amazing price, and since then, I have been waiting to wear it, but with the heatwave we were having, it just hadn’t happened. So when I saw that Sunday was heavy rain, I knew I wanted to wear it and decided to plan this outfit around it. I kept things neutral since the Potato shade is an earthy, cool toned beige, so I wore my PAIGE Margot Skinny Jeans and a simple brown jumper from Oasis (it’s old). I then opted for my Hunter Original Tall Wellies in Cocoa Gloss as I thought the brown shade would pair together well with the Stutterheim, and I was right. It’s a lot more muted compared to what I usually wear when it rains, but I liked the more simple styling of it.

When it comes to raincoats, I am actually a huge fan of Stutterheim. I know you are familiar with my Stutterheim Mosebacke in Burgundy as I’ve worn that a few times already on the blog, so I wanted to get another fit in the Stockholm unisex cut. It is a little bigger than the Mosebacke, so you can size down one for a slimmer fit, or take the same size so that it fits jumpers underneath, which is what I did here so I have the XXS again, perfect for the winter months. Since I have tested this out in heavy rain, I can safely say it’s amazing! The water doesn’t just run off and soak your jeans, it slowly runs and then evaporates, really fast as well, so I can safely say these are amazing raincoats! Anyway, do let me know what you think of this outfit! Lorna xx.

Its fabulous to see you in a pair of tall hunters again Lorna x You always look fabulous in them and the perfect model. Would love to see you modelling a gloss pair along with faux leather jeans again sometime as that was an unbeatable combination 🙂 xx

These are great photos! Even though you felt that everything was against you you managed to get great results. I think it’s a bonus that these photos show how well your raincoat actually deals with the rain rather that just leaving it to the imagination as it would be on a drier day. 🙂

I really like the coat, it’s beautifully designed… but I have to take issue with the colour name. Potato??? Really? I’ve never seen a potato that’s that colour. LOL 😀

The boots are gorgeous too and I’ll not be taking issue with their colour name… Cocoa Gloss is pretty much spot on. 🙂

I’m not sure about the colour either, perhaps Swedish potatoes are different? Lol. You’re right on the Cocoa Gloss though, it’s very accurate for the wellies 🙂

When I was editing the photos I saw the rain on the coat and thought this is great for showing how well it works too!

Wow, Lorna what a gorgeous outfit. You know how much a wellies fan I am but I was so amazed by those jeans when I first saw the pics. They look so sexy and amazing on you and it is topped off wonderfully with the beautiful jumper and rain coat. All and all an amazing outfit with the perfect colour match.

Very nice, Lorna! Great to see the Hunters back at last! I went into town on Bank Holiday Sunday and it was utterly tipping it down – my black Hunters were on and I was having fun splooshing around in the puddles! Gotta love them!

Oh that sounds like so much fun! I have to admit that I splashed in some puddles too, ha ha!

Lovely outfit Lorna, it’s good to see the wellies back on! It poured it down all of Bank Holiday weekend – I therefore wore my black Hunters when I went to town on the Sunday and splooshed in all the big puddles, then wore them for a country walk with my cousins – we loved squelching through the thick mud in our lovely warm wellies! Truly the best clothes ever!

lovely coat that should really do the job of keeping you dry. I bought something similar from Tretorn (including the trousers) last year and it both looks lovely and works

Glad it’s starting to cool down a bit for you, although it’s a shame that the rain made photos tricky! I think the photos turned out really well, it’s so hard getting a good pic in the rain!

I hope that you are having a nice start to your week so far! It’s a little colder here after a warm weekend but the rain is welcome 🙂

Ooh I love the colour of these boots! I’ve always loved Hunter boots as they remind me of cosy, Autumnal walks in the rain through the countryside. Lovely styling as always, Lorna! 🙂

    Hi Lorna,
Love your reviews on Stutterheim! I am getting Burgundy colour I thought perhaps I can ask you question related to sizing.
I am 5’4″ Indian male, weighing 130 pounds, wear US size 14.5 dress shirt, and dress shoe US size of 6.5. I generally wear my shirts or t-shirts mostly form fitting.

I know they run bit bigger in fit but I don’t want to look too baggy. And I also want to ensure the sleeves fit well and not get too long that there is a crease on the arm length.

What size would you recommend? XXXS or XS?

Since it is winter here I would wear it over dress-shirt, light tin cardigan or just a light thin fleece jacket. May be shirt and Arcteryx Cerium Light Weight jacket underneath if it is too cold.

Would love to see what you can help me.

    Cheers.

      Hello,
I had an XXS and I am 5ft 4, 140 pounds. It fit me loose enough to fit sweaters underneath. I would say if you want it snug, a XXXS would probably fit you very slim, but it does depend how much room you require to move around in.
      Lorna.
