Summer Raincoat Style

The Clear Raincoat With Ankle Rain Boots

It’s been a little while since I shared any rainwear outfits with you, for obvious reasons, but I’ve been keeping these photos in stock for a little while! This is the outfit that I wore in June when it was showering off and on all day, but it was too hot for full wellies or a thick coat, so I thought I would go for a summer raincoat style instead! I’m glad that it’s been raining more lately, I even have a brand new raincoat to share with you soon when it cools down, so stay tuned for that!

This clear raincoat is from Zara and I actually bought it in the winter time, around Christmas, and kept it for the warmer months. It’s got a milkiness to it so it’s not entirely see though, but what attracted me to it was the red, yellow and blue piping on the edges. I think it makes it so unique and cool, giving it more of a luxurious feel when it was actually super cheap! It folds up super small so it’s a coat I take out with me often as it’s so lightweight. I even took it to Lyme Regis!

I decided to style my Zara raincoat with my Topshop grey skinny jeans and a black GAP top to make a comfortable and casual base. Then, as I needed waterproof footwear, I opted for my Hunter Refined Chelsea Boots in Slate. You have seen these a couple of times before (here and here) and they’re one of my favourite pairs of wellies to wear because they’re easy to get on and off, not bulky, and they’re quite light on my feet. I definitely recommend the Hunter Chelsea Boots if you haven’t yet tried them! They’re much less in your face than the Original Tall if you want subtle rain protection. So this isn’t a special outfit by any means, but I thought it was about time I shared a rain look with you! Let me know what you think! Lorna xx.

What I Was Wearing:
Raincoat – Zara (similar)
Top – GAP
Jeans – Topshop
Rain Boots – Hunter

I always love transparent rain coats although I have yet to find one that both looks good and actually keeps the rain out, by having sealed seams. .Ankle wellies are so much more practical than the big heavy ones

Yeah, sealed seams are important! Joules do sealed seems, but not totally clear.

Hi Lorna, that outfit looks really great and really can help during the showers we are having with warm temperatures. A really light rain jacket which doesn’t feels as heavy as the regular ones. I also love the chelsea rain boots. I normally prefer the tall wellies, but these aren’t that uncomfortable during summer. I bought some dm chelsea boots and I can imagine that the hunters are equally comfortable. All and all a wonderful outfit to survive the little showers we are having.

That’s such a cute raincoat, and I agree I love the colourful piping on it! 🙂 I was looking at a cute polka dot raincoat in the store just the other day, but it doesn’t rain that often here for me to need one really! Especially since we are in a drought 🙁

Hope that you have a wonderful weekend ahead of you! 🙂

The packaway ones are often so good for just keeping in your bag, just in case 🙂

This transparent rain coat is so lovely. I love how you styled it with jeans and boots. So lovely.
Transparent items are really in right now. It’s one trend that I really like!

Actually now that I am reading this and see it, it’s amazing that rain season is almost upon us. I love that this rain coat is opaque but before I read about it, it looked like a very light grey since your black top made it darker. Love the piping on this raincoat as well. It’s the standout piece and while it’s simple, it’s very chic. It makes rain a bit more fun to get into!

I can definitely see how it looks grey! That’s what makes this cool as it can change shades depending on what’s underneath. It’s so cool!

I wonder when you’ll next be able to wear it? 🙂 Things seem to be warming up again a bit now.

Anyway, it’s a really nice coat and I should imagine that the semi-see-through nature of it means that it can go well with just about anything that you choose to pair it with. The only thing it’s missing is a touch of green. 😉

Most likely this weekend since I see it’s raining again here, ha ha! I did think that it was missing some green though, you’re right there. It can’t just have red, blue, and yellow without green. Seems unfair. Perhaps the green jeans will suffice!

Yes, it rained all through the night here but today looks like being warm already… but I’m uncertain what to wear outside today. LOL
