The Lace Up Skirt And Boots Outfit

The Lace Up Skirt & Over The Knee Boots Outfit

Even though I am still re-wearing pieces from my wardrobe and enjoying creating different looks with them, I’m still open to new looks and branching out with my style a bit more. I put a poll on my Instagram a while ago asking if you’d like to see more evening appropriate outfits and it actually won by a landslide, so as well as daytime looks, I’m venturing more into the night time ones too. I don’t often wear outfits like this as skirts are not in high abundance in my closet, but I genuinely love it. I realised that since I generally only take my pictures in the day when I’ve gone shopping or out to lunch etc, it’s limiting my looks quite a lot, so hopefully you like the different ones too.

Again, this is another look featuring Wearall (see the first one here), so I’ve chosen their Harper Suede Lace Up Mini Skirt to go with the Talia Cross Strap Scoop Bodysuit, finished off with my Ted & Muffy Empress Boots (similar from Stuart Weitzman here). I love the fact that these items are so affordable, can you believe this top is only £6? It’s great if you want to change your look each weekend but have a budget to stick to. I wasn’t exactly sure how I wanted to style this top and skirt combination though as I didn’t know if I should opt for heels or boots, but as I really dislike my knees most of the time, I went with over the knee boots instead and I like how it gave the overall combination a completely different vibe. Let me know what you think in the comments below! Lorna xx.

    have a great week, that’s arriving😘

    • April 8, 2018 / 9:01 pm

You can wear what you want! Honestly! As long as it looks good, who worries? I’m 30 in a couple of months and people say I should start dressing differently, but I like to wear what I want, ha ha 😀

      • April 12, 2018 / 7:53 am

Thank you Lorna and you are right! Let them say what ever they want. You are such a inspiration! xox Gonna find my mini skirt and put than on, hahaa! 🙂 SOMETIMES these numbers are tough to handle, I mean next month 47…but feeling like 30!

        • April 12, 2018 / 1:46 pm

Don’t worry! 47 isn’t even old at all, my mum’s 52 and she dresses younger, how she wants. It’s all about your confidence 😀

First, that top is such a bargain! Second, I love how the criss cross/lace up details on each piece work so nicely together, it’s a really fun outfit combination and you look great in it! 🙂

Hope you are having a great weekend! We had a busy one, some Church Online people flew over from the US so the weekend was full of activities 🙂

This is an amazing set of photos. I’ll get to the outfit in a moment but, first, I have to say that I adore your editing choices for these photos. This black and white background is such a clever choice to put with this outfit.

The outfit itself I absolutely love. 😀 You look stunningly gorgeous and all of the items you are wearing are completely perfect choices to draw attention to, and compliment, your figure. I also very much like the “striped” effect of this look… from top to toe… hair, skin (face), black, skirt, skin (legs), black… 🙂

I’m amazed that you found such a lovely top for only £6… It certainly proves that the genuine bargains are lurking out there to be found for those willing to search.

I agree with you that the boots are a better choice than heels for this look. This is more to do with the “striped” effect I’m seeing rather than any comment on your knees though which I don’t see any problem with. However, we are all self aware of certain parts of our bodies and it’s kind of the knees for me. My knees are both badly scared from a chemical accident many years ago and look really odd. It doesn’t put me off wearing shorts but sometimes other people do notice the huge scars when I do… still, it’s a conversation opener, I guess. 😉

Anyway, terrific outfit and terrific shoot. Easily my favourite of your non-denim looks so far this year. 😀

    • April 16, 2018 / 12:08 am

You know I didn’t even notice that it’s striped! I can see it now that you’ve said. It’s funny how it takes someone else’s eye to notice things like that as we all pick up on different things 😀

And thank you for the editing skills too! The original background was just really not suited and due to the weather and time limits, we couldn’t shoot anywhere else so I had to make do with that and then spend ages getting it to blend and match with the outfit, so I thought the greyed out version was best to make the outfit pop. Glad you noticed! Nobody else picked up on that actually 🙂

Sorry you don’t like your knees either, but that sounds scary! How did you manage to have the accident?

      • April 19, 2018 / 5:46 pm

It was in 2000 when I worked at a dairy farm. I was inside one of the milk tanks cleaning the walls of it with the appropriate chemical and, with an absent mind, I knelt down on the floor of the tank, instead of crouching, and of course there was residue of the chemicals I had used still there which hadn’t yet drained out. So now I have these weird smooth and semi-translucent big scars covering both of my kneecaps.

Yeah, I seem to notice the most random things in your photos sometimes. 😉 LOL

        • April 19, 2018 / 10:02 pm

Ouch! That sounds like it must have really hurt! I don’t envy you there. At least it makes you unique though and you have a cool story to tell! I never expected it to come from a milk tank, ha ha 🙂

          • April 20, 2018 / 2:54 pm

Yes… the one on my left knee is the shape of the USA… Well… from my angle looking down at it anyhow… It hurt a lot for quite a while, yes. With that kind of injury though all the damage gets done before you begin to feel the pain.

            • April 20, 2018 / 5:08 pm

Yeah, I can imagine that’s the case! Glad it was just your knees and not spread all over your legs!

      Thank you so much!
