How To Wear Rain Boots Fashionably

Hunter Chelsea Rain Boots With Skinny Jeans Outfit

I’m sure by now, after seeing so many rainy photos quite often, you’re beginning to understand why I have a larger selection of wellies than most people. I would say I spend about 50% of the time in some sort of rain boot and a rain coat thanks to the UK and its amazing weather. One of my favourite pairs that I have grown to love are these Chelsea Boots from Hunter Boots and they’re perfect for so many things! Because they’re only ankle length and akin to an actual ankle boot, they’re extremely versatile and wearable. Sometimes my tall wellies can be quite cumbersome and get in the way of certain things, so these are just perfect for errands and walking around while keeping my feet completely dry! I honestly can’t recommend them enough if you live in a rainy climate too.

I decided to wear them this time with my Topshop Jamie Grey Skinny Jeans and my Zara Faux Aviator Coat. You’ve seen this coat twice (here and here) and I still love it so much! I’d go as far as to say it’s my favourite coat this season entirely! It just goes with everything and is actually really warm and flattering, so it’s ideal! I layered it over my GAP Roll Neck Jumper in Burgundy and matched that to my Urban Outfitters Gloves in the same shade.

When it comes to skinny jeans, I usually only opt for premium pairs as I love how they fit, the washes, the quality etc, but I have worn this pair from Topshop quite regularly lately because they’re super stretchy and great for errands. I actually really like the wash which is often hard to find in a high street denim, but my biggest complaint is that the crotch constantly falls down and I look like I’m wearing a nappy if I don’t keep pulling them up. I never get that issue with my premium denim, so I’m not sure what’s going on there, but the wash is nice and so is the overall appearance, so I put up with it.

One thing I do like when it rains though is how pretty Bath can look. This area is outside the front of the Roman Baths and the cobble stones always look so shiny and fancy when they’re wet, often giving off a mirroring reflection, which is why we chose to shoot the photos here even though it’s a really touristy location and you usually have to wait your turn. I think it really adds something to the outfit though and shows how wellies can actually look quite good sometimes, in a fashionable way! What do you think of the outfit? Have any of you got a pair of Hunter Chelsea Boots? They’re a must have! Lorna xx.

Yes! I know, it’s so difficult, especially as it rains all the time! Glad you liked it!

I had no idea that Hunter actually makes ankle boots, I need a pair for myself. It rains a lot where I live too.

I’ve never owned a pair of rain boots before because I always thought they looked clunky, but these look very chic! I love that they’re ankle boots too! Also love your jacket, it looks so warm and stylish!

The boots look very practical whilst also still fitting in very nicely with the rest of your outfit. With such crazy weather at the moment I’m sure they’ve proven a great investment. Aside from the wet weather, do you wear them in the snow too or are they too short for that? I was wondering if they have good grips too?

Anyway, the entire outfit looks great. As always is great to see some grey featuring so nicely. 🙂

I could answer that if we actually got snow! Bath never seems to snow, and if it does, it’s a little dusting that melts in an hour lol. Depending on how deep the snow is, you could, but your feet might get cold unless you have thick socks! They’re not insulated, but you can get fluffy insoles 🙂 They are a good grip, very sturdy boots!

      • February 27, 2018 / 5:19 pm

Snow is rare here in Lincoln too… but we actually have some for once. I saw so much of it yesterday… from Brighton, to London to Peterborough to Lincoln… 😀 Peterborough train station was like being in a mini blizzard…

Oh yes, thick socks are a must, I think, or wellies feel a bit odd without them. 🙂

Definitely cold without them! I made the mistake last time of just wearing normal socks in my original tall wellies and my feet were frozen lol! And that was just a tiny bit of snow! I’ve seen snow everywhere too, Adam has quite a lot in the midlands!
