Joules Coast Waterproof Jacket With Hunter Refined Chelsea Boots

Joules Coast Waterproof Jacket With Hunter Refined Chelsea Boots

I almost forgot about these photos! They were actually taken back in April/May when we went to Farrington Farm and they got put in a folder to post the next month and then forgotten about as other outfit posts got in the way. Whenever I go to the farm though or run some errands and it’s raining, this is usually the type of look that I go for (or this one) as ankle wellies and a rain coat have sort of become my staple here in England. It’s a little too cold for this outfit now though since the temperatures have dramatically dropped lately, but it’s definitely become a signature of mine.

So what was I wearing? This is my Joules Coast Waterproof Jacket in Berry that I purchased from the brand over a year ago. This was actually my very first purchase from Joules and I fell in love with them since then, actually wearing their pieces on a weekly basis! This jacket has done me well though, it’s still in perfect condition (I own the red one too) and has been so useful. I can’t get enough of it, especially the beautiful berry colour. I paired it with a simple H&M Grey Jumper and my James Jeans Skinny Jeans in Black as they make the jacket pop really well and are perfect for my footwear choice, which is of course the Hunter Refined Ankle Chelsea Boots in Slate Grey.

My Hunter Boots were the very first pair of ankle wellies that I got actually. I got them back in March and have worn them so many times. Because they’re matte and a pretty two tone grey shade, they literally go with everything, especially black, blue or grey skinny jeans, and as I live in jeans – that’s ideal. You just need to cuff the hem so there’s a bit of ankle showing. They’re really snug and slim, much more fitted than the other Chelsea Boots they have as those are quite bulky, but these do run small. I’m usually a UK 6 in Hunter and I had to take these in a UK 7 as I couldn’t get the 6 on. They’re still quite tight though, so definitely size up if you buy them. They also keep my feet a lot dryer than the Joules ones I have as the ankle opening on these is a lot narrower so water doesn’t creep in. Anyway, what do you think of my outfit? Comment and let me know!

I love the berry colour of your coat – a nice cheerful piece for a wet day! 🙂 I packed my ankle boots away but I’ve had to get them back out again with the wet weather lately – I don’t have wellington boots so ankle boots are my go-to when it’s cold and rainy!

Hope you are having a lovely weekend 🙂 Cold and wet here, a bit unexpected after our warm week!

Thank you! Ankle boots are always good as long as they’re not suede, ha ha!

The rich colour of the jacket is lovely and I like the stripes that line the inside and the hood too. A really nice item. The boots look perfect for visiting a farm – in particular a nice clean one such as this. 🙂

Funny that these photos have had to wait so long to be posted. 😀 Nice that they finally made it though. 🙂

It’s only clean in that area, ha ha 😀 But I love the striped lining too! I think it’s pretty!

Lorna, the color of your jacket is one of my favorite colors, it looks really pretty on you xox

I wanted to thank you for checking in on me, I was dealing with the loss of one of my kitties… and I got two new ones which kept me very busy for a couple of weeks…

Also, I wanted to let you know, I am going to indulge in a pair of those rain boots after Christmas, I hope I can get some coupons off them when the time comes. I will look around … I know I want them, my first tall pair of rain boots… I plan to go splashing in big puddles… haha

Hi Launna! Oh hopefully they have some good discount codes! I will see what’s available! That’s exciting! Did you check the measurements and everything? And I’m so sorry about your kitty, that’s always so sad to lose a family member. I hope you’re ok xx.

Lorna it’s great that you remembered about this lovely set of photos and blogged this outfit. I love this look, and the deep berry shade of the jacket is very striking, and definitely makes a dreary day more cheerful. It really stands out against the grey background and looks beautiful. I also adore your eye make-up, and the hint of gold shimmer I’m seeing. You’ve applied it very nicely, and it suits you perfectly.

    Lots of love Saba xx

Oh thank you, Saba! Nobody really notices my eye make-up! I appreciate that! It’s a beautiful gold glitter eye shadow which is more like a cream, it’s the one from Illamasque that I blogged last year. Love it!
