I’m Finally Going To Disneyland Paris!

I’m finally going to Disneyland Paris this year!

Those of you who know me or have followed my fashion blog for quite some time will know that I have an obsession with Disney. I just recently got the Art of Belle Snow Globe from Adam for Christmas, and anytime I go past a Disney store, I can’t just walk by. I’ve grown up with Disney, especially the older cartoons as they hold fond memories of my nan as well, so anything Disney (especially the music) is my happy place.

Since I was little, I had always wanted to go to Disneyland Paris, but because of the travel and the price, I’ve never been. Adam and I really looked into it this month though and found out that if you book every thing separately, and stay outside the park in a partner hotel, you can go for a much cheaper price. So by booking the hotel, the travel, the park tickets etc individually, you actually save hundreds, meaning… the trip is possible!

When were were looking before, we were only really looking at the Disneyland Paris hotels inside the park and weren’t thinking about outside the park. We found out by looking at a search engine which combines all the best deals from websites in one place, comparing prices and saving money. The hotel we decided on is the Vienna House Dream Castle Hotel and you can take a shuttle from there to the park each day, which sounds ideal, not to mention the interior looks much nicer! The money we would save by using that deal is around £630 as the hotel price is £275 for 4 nights and the park tickets are £264 for 4 days, on offer too. When we worked that out on the Disneyland website directly, the hotel and tickets were £1170… such a difference.

We have decided not to go in the Summertime as we plan to do our annual St. Ives holiday then, plus it costs a lot more as the schools are out. We thought the Autumn would be a better option, so we chose to go in late September or October. The fun thing about going this year too is that it’s the parks 25th anniversary, which means even more exciting and special things will be happening, especially during the parade and the fireworks display on the castle. I’ve actually watched YouTube videos for hours about Disneyland and even watches the multiple hours long park tours so you get to see everything, including the insides of shops, and it was amazing!

I know the food is incredibly expensive and I hope there’s some there suitable for my food intolerance’s, plus the travel worries me a little bit too. I have to go from Bath to London Paddington by train, Paddington to St. Pancras by taxi, then St. Pancras to Disneyland via the Eurostar, using the direct train as I don’t want to get off and do the Nord/Lyon metro trip again. It means we will have to get up super early, but it will definitely be worth it to finally be able to go to Disneyland Paris and fulfill my dream. If you have ever been there, please tell me about it and give me any tips!

Lorna, I am thrilled and excited for you … I went to Disney World when I was 9 years old… I don’t remember a great deal of it but I do remember having fun and now there are so many other things to see there. I have always wanted to take both my girls, this year I finally started a savings account just for that. I know my oldest will want to take her husband and children, so it may get expensive for them. I will stay outside the part too but only if I go with my oldest daughter as she drives, I don’t drive and wouldn’t want to spend time figuring out how to get there if I was on my own.

I can’t wait to hear all about it with lots of pictures, I am sure you will have a blast… xox

Lorna it’s great that you’ll finally get to make this trip and fulfil your dream of going to Disneyland. The research you did clearly paid off, and it’s fantastic that you’ve managed to save a lot of money by planning your trip carefully. Well done and I hope you have a fabulous time!

p.s – The snow globe is really lovely, I remember it from when you first shared it.

Thank you, Saba! I know, I didn’t realise at first how much cheaper it could actually be! I’m so glad you can book it all separate. Now all I have to worry about is the food, ha ha.

I grew up with Disney as well and I personally prefer the music and drawings from back in the day so- Snow White, Beauty and the Beast…from time to time I play tracks from The Little Mermaid and dance in my room. The lyrics of Under the Sea are genius, ‘…that’s why its hotter under the water…’ erm…You will have a blast hon. I went to Disney in Calif when I was 18, my parents took us all there as a gift to me for getting into Kings College London to study law…funnily enough when I was there, I felt I was too old for it as when a 5ft etc Mickey Mouse came up to me, I was very irritated, haha!
    Have a good Sunday hon ( :

How very exciting. Ive visited Disney world in Florida and Disneyland LA but never Paris. I can’t believe how much you saved from separating the fares. So awesome. I know you’ll have lots of fun.

I hope you have a wonderful time. 🙂 I think another advantage for you going in the autumn rather than the summer will be the slightly darker evenings – which I’m sure will make it feel even more magical. 🙂

It sounds like you’ve got a great deal on the prices! Very impressive.
