Burgundy Velvet Blazer, Cat Shirt & Hudson Nix Lace Up Jeans
This is my very first outfit post of 2017! I’m sorry it’s been a little while since I posted a new outfit of mine (13 days to be exact, yikes!) but the reason was because of all the illness I went through, and a week long cold sore, and the hives etc, I couldn’t shoot any new photos looking like that unfortunately. I had to work around that and schedule other content, which I hope you all enjoyed, and then shoot two looks this weekend just gone, including this one for New Years Eve. Yep, this was my New Years Eve outfit!
I decided not to go down the usual route that everyone ops for and do a sparkly dress etc and instead went for something that’s very me, but with a festive twist. I wore my beloved Topshop Burgundy Velvet Blazer which I layered over a new Topshop Cat Print Shirt, for a quirky and unique look. I’ve had this velvet blazer for a few months and fell completely in love with it the moment I saw it. I’ve had a velvet obsession forever and had always wanted a burgundy velvet jacket, but could only ever find men’s versions, until this one came along. It was a match made in heaven! Then given how much I love cats, this shirt is ideal!
To add a little something extra to my New Years Eve outfit, I also chose to wear my Hudson Nix Lace Up Jeans in Black as they are so much fun! I love the bows and ties at the ankle. It’s been a while since I wore lace up jeans, in fact I’m not sure if I even remember when I last wore lace up jeans, but I have worn these multiple times and can’t get enough of them. I definitely recommend them while I’m going through my Hudson phase at the moment. I then decided to finish it all off with more velvet, choosing my Alice + Olivia Velvet Pumps, to match my velvet blazer, and a deep red lip to complement it.
How are you all anyway? So far 2017 has been going well, but I can’t believe everything is going so fast. I’ve got some very special outfits planned for the months ahead as well, which I think you are all going to really like, plus I’ve decided to be more bolder in my fashion choices and outfit pairings this year too. I’m going to mix things up a little bit with more colour, prints, and fun. What do you think of my velvet blazer paired with a cat print shirt? Do you also like the Hudson lace up jeans and velvet heels? For me it reminds me of a more feminine take on a quirky men’s shirt and jacket combination. Let me know!
