Lorna Raindrops Christmas Gift Guide 2016

My Novelty, Fun & Useful Christmas Gift Guide

It’s Christmas in literally 15 days! I can’t believe how fast this year has gone, can you? It felt like a few months ago I was writing my 2015 Christmas Gift Guide, when in actual fact a whole 12 months have gone by… Where does the time go? So much has changed for me in that year, but that’s being saved for my New Years blog post that I’m planning, like I do every year. This post is all about my choices for presents! I’ve selected only 16 women’s items and 10 men’s items as I’m keeping this gift guide smaller this year. I know everyone is probably sick of them and I didn’t want to waste a huge amount of time putting an ultimate gift guide together, like I did last year, so I’m keeping it short and sweet!

You may see that this gift guide of mine is entirely different to previous ones and currently craving wish lists, purely because I didn’t see any sense in putting in expensive items of clothing, or designer bags and shoes, as those are rarely ever purchased as gifts for anyone and more for ourselves. I’ve chosen actual gifts and the majority of them are on sale right now and are under £30! Just like that Paperchase Pink Christmas Tree (above), I think these are actual gifts that people would like to get on Christmas day! Some are novelty, some are useful, some are pretty, and some are unique, but they would definitely be ideal stocking fillers or extra little gifts to fill up your quota. Happy shopping!

Women’s Gift Guide

For the ladies, I put together a combination of fun gifts like a light up cactus, a decorative unicorn, a cute glitter bee iPhone case and a giraffe pom pom keyring, but I mixed in some useful things like some make-up, a pair of gloves and socks, a drinking mug, some slippers, and a jewellery stand. I know I would personally be happy to get any of these on Christmas day as they are all to my taste! I might have actually ordered the light up cactus already as I love anything with a cacti print!

I’ve also included this really pretty red playsuit which would be great for any New Years Eve parties, and this ALLSAINTS leather jacket. I couldn’t help it! You all know how I feel about ALLSAINTS! It’s a little on the expensive side, but beautiful. On the other hand, who doesn’t love jewellery at Christmas? These two necklaces and the pretty bracelet are incredibly elegant. I would love them! There’s a little silver feather clip for your hair there too, in case you want hair accessories. I cannot stop staring at the jacket though! Isn’t it just amazing?

I didn’t leave you guys out either! Since I have a boyish mentality too as I love Marvel, sci-fi things, games etc. I put together a list of things that I would find cool. This includes a Marvel calendar, a Star Wars mug that changes with heat, a beanie hat and a bow tie (for the fashionable guys), a watch that has a moving plane on it as the second hand, a mini drone, a crystal t-rex dinosaur puzzle in 3D, a fun take on the usual Where’s Wally book, but it’s Where’s Wookiee? So cool! There’s a heat changing Marvel mug too, and of course finally some Dove products for guys who like grooming.

– So that about concludes my Christmas Gift Guide for 2016 as it’s small and compact, only showcasing things I would count as actual gifts. What’s on your wish list? Let me know!

I love your gift guide. The slippers (3) is so cute. I feel you on expensive items, no one really gifts those. These are just right.

Isn’t is crazy how fast this year has gone Lorna… there are couple of cute ideas that Valentina would like here… I haven’t done my shopping for her yet… because I am waiting on her to finish her list 🙂 … The only real surprises she is getting is her stocking stuffers, I plan to buy her lots of unique and quirky gifts. Teens can be so hard to buy for as they have a particular style xox

They can! Especially in this day and age, I remember when I was a teen I was happy to get cute little things, now it’s all gadgets and things, ha ha. Really glad you like this post 🙂

Hi Lorna! This gift guide features lots of lovely items, and it’s nice how you kept it useful, even though it’s more concise in style than your previous gift guide. All the choices are excellent, and I especially like the Marvel heat-changing mug! The dinosaur slippers are super-cute and look comfy as well, perfect for cosy nights in spent watching The X Files!

    Love Saba xx

Ha ha, The X Files, that made me laugh, as I watch that too. Some of those episodes are beyond scary though! Really glad you like the gift guide, Saba! xx.

How exciting to find a fellow X Files fan! Do you watch the classic episodes, or the newer ones?! I can’t get enough of Mulder and Scully! And the Smoking Man! He’s so detestable, but somehow a very intriguing villain, don’t you think?!

Yes, I’m loving this gift guide, and the temptation of all those pretty things might prove too much for me, haha!

        xx

I haven’t watched a huge amount of them as it’s only recently I’ve gotten into them as they have been on the TV, so I’m a bit all over the place with episodes. I watched a lot of the older ones, which are pretty good, but I’ve seen some newer ones too without Mulder and I definitely prefer them with him in it!

I definitely recommend the cactus light by the way! I have it now in my room and it’s so cute!

          • December 25, 2016 / 12:58 am

I know what you mean Lorna! I’m always a little disappointed in the later episodes when Mulder isn’t there, as he’s such a vital part of the show. I agree, some of the episodes are too scary even for a die-hard fan like me. The ones I like most involve government conspiracies, and the syndicate of ominous men, and the smoking man! But the standalone stories are always compelling too!

I’m glad to hear you’re enjoying the cactus light! I bet it looks fabulous. xx

I have completely forgotten about theBalm Manizer! Believe it or not, I have not tried any of it so the trio is a brilliant way to try all of them. Lorna, do you have a good men waterproof winter boots recommendation? I’m poking for a good pair for my husband.

Do you mean like a wellington boot? I always recommend Hunter if you can find them at a good deal! Super comfortable, extremely well made, and really good!

These are all great items. I have finally, I think, got my Christmas shopping finished now. 😀 I have no wish list even in my mind… I just like to be surprised! 😀 Equally I hope that the gifts I have bought for other people will surprise them too in some cases. 😉

Great selection – I clicked on the jewellery stand straight away! (I’m buying it for myself, not as a gift, but you know… it’s good to treat yourself at this time of year, right?)
