The Topshop Faux Fur Shearling Tan Coat

Topshop Faux Fur Shearling Tan Coat Outfit

You may remember this Topshop Faux Fur Shearling Coat from last months currently craving wish list, in which I thought that it looked a lot like Del Boy, but I was still really drawn to it. As it turns out, this coat has quickly become one of my favourites and I am absolutely in love with it! The moment it came, I put it on and wore this outfit as I knew I wanted to wear it immediately and I have worn it a few times since as well. Surprisingly though, this Topshop Faux Fur Shearling Coat actually runs small as I’m usually a UK 6-8 in their coats, but I had to take this one in an 8 and it’s quite tightly fitted. It’s so warm though!

I wanted to keep this coat as the focal point of the whole outfit so I decided to style it with a simple Oasis Brown Jumper, my PAIGE Verdugo Transcend Skinny Jeans, and my Celtic & Co. Chelsea Boots. I didn’t have a bag this time around as we were actually at the beach taking these photos about an hour away and I don’t like to get the dirty sand on my bags in case the leather damages (I’ve had that before) so it was in the car instead. Funnily enough though, I think a bag would have taken the attention away from this coat, so the photos are much better without one, in my opinion. I really do love this coat though, I think it might actually be my favourite one for this year! Adam’s changed his mind too as he didn’t like it at first, but now he does, so it’s a win, win situation! What do you think of the outfit and the coat? And happy Friday as well, have a lovely weekend ahead!

What I Was Wearing:
Coat – Topshop
Jeans – PAIGE
Jumper – Oasis (similar BooHoo)
Boots – Celtic & Co. (similar Sam Edelman)

Wow Lorna! You’ve achieved the impossible – you’ve taken a coat which is reminiscent of Del Boy, and actually turned it into something chic and good! I love the outfit, and you’ve styled it really nicely to make the coat the centre of attention. I agree, not carrying a bag definitely allows the coat to stand out even more. I adore these neutral colours.

    Happy Friday to you too!

    Love Saba xx

    • November 13, 2016 / 10:50 am

Thank you so much, Saba! I’m so glad you like it and how everything turned out, I really do as well and I’m sure these coats are going to be very popular! xx.

You’re so welcome Lorna! Yes, I’m certain these coats will be seen a lot this season, and their warmth is an added bonus! xx

It’s very beautiful, I love shearling coats! I donated one two years ago and now I regret it, so yours is a great inspiration – good that you got it, do you think you should have bought it in size 10, because it runs tight? I think size 8 was OK, it looks great! I liked the jumper and the booties, and you look really fabulous!

    • November 13, 2016 / 10:57 am

Thank you, Denise! Oh that’s a shame you donated it ages ago! Everything always comes back in fashion, doesn’t it? I think the 8 was fine in the end, a 10 would definitely be too big. I guess it looks a bit tight as I wear it with a thick jumper underneath and that causes it to be tighter, but any bigger would have lost its shape I reckon. So happy you like it!

  5. November 12, 2016 / 7:08 pm

Oh, I think it looks great. 🙂 Funnily enough, since you posted it on your craving list, I’ve noticed the same (or, at least, very similar) coats being worn by girls when I’ve been out and about doing my shopping in the city. So I guess they must be becoming quite popular. Well, that and the fact that the weather has taken such a chilly turn must be boosting sales too. 😉

You’ve chosen some great items to go with the coat. I like how the jeans match up with the coat buttons. 🙂

    • November 13, 2016 / 11:03 am

Thank you, Steven 😀 So happy to see you back here! I hope you’re doing ok. Really glad you like the coat and the styling. These types definitely are becoming more popular, I’ve seen so many of them out and about lately!

      • November 13, 2016 / 10:43 pm

Thanks, Lorna. 🙂 I never really went away and nor will I. 🙂 . I just had a really tiring couple of weeks at work, as I’ve been a bit ill with a virus that’s gone through my workplace, so I fell behind on my online activities. But now I’ve got two weeks holiday until I go back to work on 28th of this month… Much needed. 🙂

        • November 14, 2016 / 12:53 am

Oh no! I’m sorry you got sick, Steven, that’s not fun at all! Was it a bad virus? It’s great you don’t go back to work until the 28th though, that amount of time off is always good! Hopefully it doesn’t rain too much for you 🙂

          • November 14, 2016 / 5:15 pm

Yes, it was pretty unpleasant – headaches, sore throat, running nose, ear ache, bad stomach. It was an all-inclusive package virus. 😀 It got at quite a few of us at work.

Well it’s been raining today so I went to Meadowhall to start my Christmas shopping. If the weather had been nicer I’d have gone to Nottingham instead – and probably still will do before the week is out. 🙂

            • November 14, 2016 / 6:03 pm

Oh gosh, that’s awful! I’m so sorry you got that, it sounds like some type of hideous flu! I hope it doesn’t make its way around here! You’ll have to let me know what cool things you buy for Christmas!

You know what’s funny Lorna? I don’t own even a single shearling coat. I love how it looks on you and it looks like it kept you very warm. You have no idea how happy reading you didn’t want a bag to take away from the coat. Often times I don’t want to shoot with a bag but I do it anyhow. Just because. Beautiful.

    • November 13, 2016 / 11:05 am

Thank you so much, Idu! I think you should definitely get one, you would look great in one! And yep, sometimes a bag just isn’t needed with the outfit, so I’m glad you understand that too!

      Thank you!

Love the look! I’ve always wanted to wear a coat but the weather here in the Philippines isn’t very coat-friendly. Hope you’re having an awesome week! 🙂

    • November 15, 2016 / 10:38 am

Thank you 🙂 That’s a shame it’s never cold enough for you to wear one, but it’s good you’re never freezing either!

Hi Lorna, that is a gorgeous coat! Considering buying a shearling coat for myself this fall after seeing your picture and also the latest pics in Vogue a couple of issues back (they called them “buttery” – love that word, LOL). Anyway, how long do you think these are going to stay in fashion? They have been “in” for a couple of years now, do you think they will last another few seasons? Or do you even consider them timeless?

    • November 30, 2016 / 9:02 pm

Hi Sheyna! I actually consider them to be quite timeless, I mean they were popular decades about in the 70’s and 80’s, so I think they prove their timeless quality!

Thanks for your comments =) I read & reply every one =)
