Chloe Susanna Burgundy Velvet Boots For Autumn 2016

I can only start by saying that I think these are, actually scrap that, I know these are my favourite boots I have ever owned. I’ve always loved the Chloe Susanna Boots since I saw them a few years ago, but I wasn’t ever completely sold on the black and gold leather combination, so they always remained on my wish list. A couple of weeks ago I saw these Chloe Susanna Boots in Burgundy Velvet for the Autumn 2016 collection and boy did my jaw drop!

You know how much I love velvet since I just recently did a post on the velvet trend, as well as having worn it for years prior to it becoming popular, so given that it’s my favourite fabric – these are a dream come true. I wasn’t quite sure whether or not these boots would work for me as I do have very short legs and a bigger foot size, so I wondered if they might end up like clown boots, which made me hesitant about buying them. That coupled with the retail value of £870, it was very steep. Luckily, I received a coupon code in my email from Matches for £200 off a £600 spend, which meant I couldn’t pass that up!

I ordered a size 39.5 as I’m between a 39-40 (or UK 6-7) as I had read somewhere they ran a little bit bigger for Italian sizing, so I played it safe in the middle. I’m so glad I did! The 39 would have been much too tight and the 40 would have been too loose, so the sizing worked out perfectly. When I opened the box though (I always love Matches packaging, don’t you? That marble box is gorgeous!) and saw the colour of these boots, my eyes nearly popped out of my head. They were that beautiful. I’m sure all of you are aware that burgundy is a weakness of mine, coupled with velvet, and a shoe… well no words can even describe how I feel about that. They are truly incredible and anytime I look down at my feet, I am in love. I have always loved my family, Adam, and my cats, but I didn’t know true love existed for clothing too, but it does!

I have always had a strong connection to the southern states of the United States (maybe because I’m southern English myself and love the Texan/Nashville accent) so the fact that these are very Western and cowboy inspired makes me drawn to them even more. Chloe did an amazing job with the detailing on these boots, especially with the gold studded pattern and the buckles. There’s not one thing that I don’t love about them at all, they are truly perfect in every way and I’m over the moon that I finally own them. It makes me even happier that I didn’t purchase the Chloe Susanna Boots in the usual black leather as this burgundy velvet is the best thing I have ever seen. You are definitely going to be seeing these Chloe Susanna Boots in Burgundy Velvet a lot more in my outfits, that’s a fact! Do you love them?

Hello Lorna, how to take care of velvet shoes to keep them clean and not easily soiled though rarely used? Please enlightenment, thanks.

That’s a hard one, velvet is not easy. You just have to be very careful!

I can get why these are your favorite boots! I love velvet as well and loved your boots too! They do have a Nashville feel and I also like it 🙂 Nice to know you like the southern part of the US, learning a bit more of your tastes! These boots are amazing, so nice that you could buy them in “half-size” 39.5 European size. Hope you have a very nice weekend!

Wow these boots are heavenly Lorna! I love the velvet and the depth of the colour, and all the beautiful details. It’s definitely an unexpected, and even nicer variation on classic black. I can’t wait to see what kind of outfits you wear them with!

p.s – To me, they look like a deep purple, but colour can be subjective can’t it?!

    Lots of love Saba xxx

It can be, it can also be different computer screens showing up the colours too, which can be an issue. They’re definitely burgundy with more red undertones to them in person, if that helps! There’s a faint hint of purple in there so that it’s more jewel toned, but definitely gorgeous!

Yes that’s true, colour is in the eye of the beholder, plus varying computer screens may explain it too. They’re definitely gorgeous, and I’m excited to see the different ways they can be styled during the winter! xx

I think the burgundy velvet ones you got are the better choice. I’m familiar with the black ones and like you I was conflicted about if I liked them because they walked the line between cool and gaudy. I can see why you new boots are your fave they are super cute.
