Welcoming Autumn + Shopping Inspiration

voice-autumn

It’s officially Autumn in a few days time, which means we are entering my favourite season of the year! The crisp air, the beautiful hues of the leaves, the cooler weather to layer with, and most importantly… the fashion! Yep, the Autumn is my favourite time of year to shop because I just love the browns, burgundys, yellows, and neutrals.

To welcome my beloved season, I’ve put together an Autumn inspired wish list (as well as my Currently Craving Wish List) to bring you what I love and adore at the moment, and can’t wait to own, if I’m lucky enough. I’ve included quite a few various brands as well, to mix it up and really get into it. I love every single piece here and am just imagining the countless outfits that could be put together with these items. I’m always all about coats, knitwear, leather jackets, and boots, so you can understand why this season makes me excited.

esprit-clothing-for-autumn-2016

These wonderful pieces above are from Esprit and I fell in love with them. Who doesn’t love knitted coats, suede skirts, and funky ankle boots, all in shades of brown and taupe? I can’t get enough of them and think they would make perfect staple pieces throughout Autumn, but even take you into Winter too. The first item is a knitted coat (here), which I think would be amazing layered over this suede skirt (here) with a crisp white shirt and those ankle boots (here). If you prefer the other coat though with the waist tie (here), that would look chic as well.

louis-vuitton-lockme-backpack

This amazing Louis Vuitton LockMe Backpack has been on my mind for a couple of months now, but when I saw it in London at the beginning of this month, I loved it even more. Backpacks aren’t something that I own a lot of unless it’s for travelling, but owning a designer one which would really make my outfits pop and allow me to be completely hands free sounds like a dream. I think this one is the perfect size, shape, and style to look chic with any outfit, as well as dressed up. Most backpacks are casual, so this is a great alternative.

all-saints-balfern-plait-jacket-coat

Balfern Jacket | Leni Coat | Gidley Jacket

Since outerwear is literally my thing (besides denim of course), it’s probably no surprise to you that I have ventured towards ALLSAINTS while making this wish list. I saw these three jackets in the shop and I honestly think they are stunning. The Leni Coat is very similar to the two that I own in the grey and the camel, but it’s in a much lighter, beige shade. The Balfern Jacket is the same as my nude and grey versions, but in a mushroom brown which is jaw dropping, then finally the Gidley might just be the burgundy leather jacket that I have been searching for all these years! What do you think?

saint-laurent-lily-95-velvet-boots

Again, these Saint Laurent velvet boots were something that I spotted in London and I was besotted by them. Velvet is a huge weakness of mine as you probably well know, but knee high boots are also something I can never turn away from, so put them both together and what do you get? Only one of the most gorgeous pairs of boots I have ever seen! The burgundy shade in person is so luxurious and intense, they would look incredible with so many things. Maybe one day these might come my way!

esprit-fall-2016-wish-list

Going back to Esprit, I also found some really cosy knitwear pieces in burgundy (here) and an oatmeal colour (here) which would be ideal with skinny jeans on those cool, but not too cold, days. They really do have some really nice clothing on their website, but I also went to accessories and found this teal blue scarf (here) and this plaid version too (here) which would really add a pop to your neutral outfits. Layering never looked so exciting to me right now.

giuseppe-zanotti-rose-gold-andrea-shoes

I know, I know, these might not be considered ‘ideal’ for Autumn, but who cares right? We all need a glam and glitzy, show stopping pair of heels for the evenings out and these Rose Gold Giuseppe Zanotti shoes fit the bill perfectly. Rose gold isn’t a colour we often see in footwear, so you can imagine my face when I came across these babies! Just. Wow.

lorna-burford-jeans-wish-list

IRO.JEANS | RtA | GOLDSIGN | McGuire | FRAME

What wish list of mine would be complete if it didn’t feature jeans of some sort? Absolutely none! For Autumn, I always venture towards the suitable shades of burgundy, mustard, and brown, but I always love detailed light blues, as well as intricately detailed blacks to stand out. I was shocked when I saw these star print leather pants though as I thought they are so inventive and quirky, I’d love to style them. I think from the pairs of jeans above though, the first pair coming my way is the FRAME jeans! Yes please!

hunter-wellingtons-orange-coral

And finally… some wellington boots! These Hunter wellies really struck me when I was scrolling through their website last month actually. As you know, I ended up getting the Hunter Norris Field Boots in Loganberry as the ruby shade was delicious, but this coral orange really pops. I’m picturing them with black skinny jeans and visualising how much they would stand out against the dark tones. In my head it sounds amazing, so I might just need to bump these up my wish list a little higher now! What items do you adore here or are craving of your own?

Those wellies are such a cute colour. They almost look like a blancmange! 😀 Yes, I think you need to get those! Of the other items above I like the look of the mustard jeans and the oatmeal sweater the best (though not together, I guess!!!) I quite like the velvet boots too – though I imagine they might overpower just about anything that was worn with them.

I wonder if there will be any clothes in the shops to tempt me this autumn? I hope so… I didn’t really see anything at all that I wanted to buy during summer. The only addition to my wardrobe (other than socks…) over the last few months has been the lovely shirt that my best friend over in the Netherlands bought for me. I love that… but I’ve spotted nothing in the shops here in ages.

Well you say overpower, I might say dominate with amazingness! Ha ha! They would be the entire focal point of any outfit and just make them stunning, wouldn’t they? I don’t think the oatmeal and mustard is a bad combination, I’d probably wear similar neutral shades with mustard actually.

I really hope you can find something new too! Not hats though as you have loads of them to last you many years now! But maybe a nice jacket or coat or something, or a new sweater/jumper! That could be good! Where do you usually shop? Maybe we should go on a Steven shopping spree and get you some new things! 😀

      • September 20, 2016 / 5:36 pm

Oh I have very inexpensive tastes so I shop at the main low to middle price high street chains mostly – Burtons, Next, Primark, H&M, Debenhams etc. 🙂 Well, you say I have loads of hats but I actually only have 21 – and 15 of those are just the same design in 15 different colours. 😉 They are a key part of what I wear in winter and autumn though as I don’t have much hair. LOL

Mostly I just browse the clothes shops and buy if I see something I like. I very rarely go out with an plan as to what I want – unless I have a particular colour in mind. 🙂

That’s a lot of hats there! I do believe you have many more hats than I do, and that’s saying something! But since you have no hair and you wear them all the time in Winter, that makes sense entirely! Not a bad idea at all. Have you got a Dr. Who hat? I have a Captain America bobble hat 😀

It makes sense you just browse and see if anything catches your eye, especially if you already have everything you need. You can never have enough jackets though!

          • September 20, 2016 / 8:06 pm

Yeah, though jackets take up a lot of space. I have nowhere sensible to keep them. There are 7 of them just on the backs of my kitchen chairs! :O

No, I’ve no Doctor Who hats – just a Doctor Who sweatshirt and a Doctor Who t-shirt… plus my 5 metres long 4th Doctor scarf! 😀

Well, maybe you should get a Dr. Who hat too! Then you can be all kitted out! Ha ha 😀

              • September 20, 2016 / 9:08 pm

Yeah, I’ve only worn the scarf once out and about – that was when my ex and I went to the cinema to see the 50th anniversary Doctor Who episode in 3D. I went as the 4th Doctor and she went as Vastra. 😀

  3. September 19, 2016 / 11:23 pm

Lorna, I love the fall too… it really is a great time for deep rich colors … it’s a favorite time of the year for me but I don’t like the winter to follow… oh well, I am trying to prepare myself while hoping the fall lasts a good long time this year xox…. Wow to the boots, they really are gorgeous with such a beautiful color xox

I know! How good would it be if we did Fall, Spring, then Summer? That would be ideal, we can skip the cold harsh Winter entirely, ha ha! So happy you love everything though, Launna!

      • September 23, 2016 / 11:38 pm

I like the idea of skipping the winter totally… a long Fall/Spring and decent Summer would be awesome xox

These items are all totally gorgeous Lorna, and would make a great capsule collection for autumn /winter. The burgundy velvet knee-high boots are just breathtaking! They’re the loveliest boots I’ve seen in my entire life, and look so luxurious! I also love your denim picks, it’s nice to see jeans in an unexpected variety of colours.

p.s – The images of autumn leaves are really beautiful too.

    Lots of love Saba xx

Those velvet boots are like a dream aren’t they? When I saw them I was in heaven with them, if I can say that. I didn’t want to try them on though or do much except try and walk away quietly, ha ha. As soon as I try things on, it’s no good, I end up getting really sad as I form attachments to it and want to take it home! Do you know what I mean?

      • September 24, 2016 / 1:17 am

I know precisely what you’re talking about Lorna! I’m not surprised you’re so taken with them. They’re a total vision! I have a similar attachment to jewellery I like! You showed a lot of restraint though! xx

  5. September 20, 2016 / 7:15 am

Wow, such lovely boots Lorna. The high ones are really classy and stylish. You would look so perfect in them.
The wellies are perfect too, such nice colours that can be worn with many sexy outfits. Can’t wait for the autumn.
However, I wonder what’s in store for men in autumn.

Quite a few good things I think! Bomber jackets are in! I would recommend checking out Adam’s blog as he’s doing wearable men’s fashion, it’s brand new at the moment, but you will like it! http://youraverageguystyle.com

Really great choices, dear Lorna! I like autumn very much, cause it leads to winter, but yes, if I have to choose a season, that would be autumn – not super cold, but also not warm. The beautiful things you chose, I hope you own soon! I loved the coats, very nice shades, and wellies are always a must! The Louis Vuitton backpack is so sweet and the velvet boots, wow, amazing! I hope you are having a great week!

Thank you, Denise! I think you are one of the only people I know that actually likes Winter though, ha ha! It’s much too cold for me and I don’t cope well in the cold weather at all. It makes me so angry and frustrated, my body tends to shut down in the cold so it’s not ideal for fashion blogging at all since I need to wrap up warm! So happy you love everything though!
