Springtime Outfit Under The Cherry Blossom With Chelsea Boots

When I was out last weekend, it finally felt like Spring was in full bloom. All of the flowers were out, there was cherry blossom all over the trees (which happen to be my favourite) and it was just beautiful to be around. It was of course freezing, as it often is, but seeing the park in all its glory definitely put a smile on my face and I finally felt like I can get excited about Summer which is just around the corner.

For my outfit, I needed something warm but an outfit that was also colourful with a hint of warmer weather appropriate, which is why I chose my Citizens of Humanity Rocket Crop Jeans which I did a bit of alterations to in the form of a DIY Raw Hem. The raw hem is something I adore and I bought a new pair of them just so I could have raw hem in this wash as well as a normal hem line. I layered over my All Saints Lorie Coat and then threw on this River Island Scarf to add some colour and my Mulberry Lily Bag in Oak to blend in with the browns I was going for.

Now for the shoes, I wanted to do a separate paragraph for these as I adore them! I chose these Short Chelsea Boots from Celtic & Co. to go with the cropped length of my jeans as I think they are the perfect match. If you haven’t heard of Celtic & Co. it’s a Cornwall based brand and they have their headquarters in Newquay so they are a British brand with gorgeous designs. Not only did I fall in love with the shape and style of these Chelsea boots, but the comfort of them is incredible too. I can wear them all day and have been wearing them frequently already, they are beautiful. I love any chance I get to support brands that are close to home and have a great heritage, so I definitely recommend you check them out! It helps that they aren’t too far away from my favourite place in the UK, St I’ves too! Let me know what you think of my outfit and you can shop the pieces at the bottom of this post.

This is the best set I’ve seen yet, fabulous! Never seen a Cherry Blossom tree that big. Your clothing is beautifully matched and even matches your hair and skin but I am terribly colour blind! ❤️

Thank you! That trunk I was next to wasn’t actually a cherry blossom, it was the one next to it that was, so I used a mixture of two trees. You wouldn’t see one that big as they don’t grow that big, ha ha. So glad you like it all though!

I see, I assumed it was that large because it is in England and a different branch of the specie. Our Cherry trees are small. ❤️

Yeah, ours are quite small too! Well, I’ve seen a few that have a fairly thick trunk, but I think they are a different breed.

This is such a pretty set of photos. It’s lovely to see all of the blossom out and you’ve got some fabulous nature shots in this mix with a fairy tale type vibe. I love how the fallen blossom is starting to carpet the grass – and you’re boots look wonderful amongst it. 🙂

The outfit is excellent. 🙂 I love the shape of the coat – though I’m a little surprised that it was cold enough to wear it as I’m finding myself going out without coats at the moment. Mind you, I find the weather to be hot long before anyone else thinks it is! 😉 The jeans are great – that’s a nice, clever, bit of handiwork that you did on them there. They look so good paired with those boots. Just curious, as I’m not 100% sure from what you’ve written, but which pair of jeans did you DIY? The original pair or the second pair? 🙂

Oh the second pair I did the DIY on, I love the ones I owned already and have worn them a lot so wouldn’t feel good chopping those ones! It’s why I did it on the new pair, no attachment to those ones yet, ha ha. Glad you like the photos though, I felt like they had a fairytale vibe too, almost like little fairy or pixie boots! I always feel cold though, I’m often cold in Summer, but it definitely was freezing last Saturday when we shot these lol.

Ah, that makes sense and it’s what I was assuming but not quite sure of. 🙂 I remembered from several of your previous entries how much you love those jeans so I couldn’t quite imagine you going all surgical on them. 😀

It’s funny how we can get attached to particular items of clothing. Last Saturday I slipped on a patch of mud in town and had a nasty sideways fall onto my left side. I was wearing my favourite pair of jeans and also my favourite long sleeved shirt at the time. Despite bruising my thigh and taking skin off my elbow, and being in pain, I was initially more worried about my clothes and rushed back home to put them through the washing machine to make sure they’d be OK. :O Happily my jeans are perfectly OK but sadly my shirt has taken the beginnings of a tiny, tiny little hole near the elbow. 🙁

Lol! You sound just like me, if I injure myself or bash into something, I always check my clothes if I’m wearing my favourites! I’m always protecting my bags and shoes too! 😀 Sorry you hurt yourself though and your jumper has a hole, perhaps you can stitch it? Or if it’s a fine material, putting a little clear nail polish around the edges of the hole stops it getting bigger. I know that works for material like tights etc, if it’s thin and stretchy. Hopefully you can salvage it!

It’s a sort of medium thickness shirt. I can’t complain as I’ve had it for longer than I can remember. The hole (well, holes really – three little ones close together) is in a fairly hidden place on the back of the lower arm. 🙂 I’ll show you a pic 🙂 See what you think? Thanks. 🙂

The first picture reminded me a bit of John Malkovic in “Les liaisons dangereuses”… 😉
    Very elegant outfit, Lorna.

I love flowers, spring and cherry blossom tree! You look amazing, beautiful and your makeup is very nice! Loved the coat and the scarf, my favorite item! I like raw hems too, and these boots are really sweet! The outfit is really chic. St Ives is such a gorgeous place – you are right for having it as your favorite! Nice that the boots come from Celtic & Co., I want some as well!

You look absolutely stunning Lorna and that cherry blossom tree is divine! You’ve captured it beautifully in your images! I really like your outfit and that way you’ve styled the jeans and boots. I especially love the shawl, it adds a splash of colour and an eastern feel!

I hope you’ve been well and making the most of warm weather.
