My Love For Different Style Hats

I never used to be a huge fan of hats when I was younger, but as I’ve grown older and my style has evolved a lot, I’ve definitely become a lot more fond of them. You could say that I have quite a large hat collection now, ranging from floppy and fedora hats to beanies and bobble hats, all perfect for different occasions and different weather. I thought it might be a good idea to share with you a post on my favourite hats that I own and how different they can make my face or outfit look when I wear them.

I would say that my all time favourite hats would have to be my burgundy wide brim hat which is very vintage inspired and my beige one in a similar fit (above) as it’s so versatile. These two hats always give a touch of elegance and a retro vibe to my outfits when I wear them, plus they suit my face shape extremely well, which is something you definitely have to look out for with hats. I’ve got a huge collection of beanie and Winter style hats which I live in when it’s cold out, but not only do they help hide your hair from a bad hair day in the Winter, they keep your body heat in which is important. I’ve got almost every colour beanie or bobble hat that you can imagine, even one with Captain America on it for my nerdy self! But my favourite one would be the cream/white fleece beanie from Topshop.

For me and hats, it generally used to be the more colourful and quirky they were, the more I would be into them, much like the stripey or printed beanie hats that I’ve owned for quite a few years. However, I know now that I always tend to opt for the plain and neutral coloured hats with a more versatile fit and cut to them as it means I can wear them with many more outfits and they can blend in rather than be the focal point of the entire outfit. I think hats for me now are more of an accompaniment than a focal point. I’ve included 11 of my favourite hats here that I wear frequently and love. I’d love to know what your favourite hat of mine is and if you have any of your own favourites?

There are certainly not any here that I dislike so it’s a tough task to choose the best. But I do have a fondness for the bobble hats and I especially like the blue/pink/black/white stripey one that’s in the third to last photo. I don’t think I’ve seen that one before. Love it. 🙂

Myself I have 1 bobble hat, 15 other woolly hats, 2 reversible sunhats and 2 straw hats. My favourite is my purple woolly hat though I don’t wear it very often due to only having a couple of items that it goes OK with. 🙂

Well you know what that means, you gave to buy more clothes it goes with!

Oh, the desire to have more purple items exists, the opportunity is rather less. Unless the clothing industry decides to make more purple garments for men… Of course there are other colours that the purple hat works with but I’d like more purple all the same. 😀

I think purple goes really nicely with grey 😀

Very true, well I have a reasonable amount of grey at least. 😀

You’re so welcome Lorna! I wanted to ask if you’ve heard about Wear a Hat Day? I saw a poster for this on the underground, and that made me think of you and this blog post you’d recently done! The purpose of the event is to raise funds for Brain Tumour Research. It’s on Thursday 24th March this year, and if you’re interested there are more details on the website for Brain Tumour Research.
