My Old Zara Beige Coat With Leather Style Sleeves

My old Zara beige coat with Black Leatherette skinny jeans

Do you remember this coat? I wore it back in 2012 (see here) and never wore it on the blog again, until now. It used to be one of my favourite coats back then, but as it’s quite thick, I did used to find it quite overwhelming. However, with the freezing temperatures I thought it was time to wear it and I actually quite like how it fits now, it’s not as bulky as I thought. It features faux leather style sleeves which contrast nicely against the beige of the coat. I did wear it in a very similar way to last time actually, but made some updated changes of course, to keep it current and fitting with the way my style has evolved.

I paired this Zara coat with my Citizens of Humanity Rocket skinny jeans in Black Leatherette to really give it a boost. I haven’t worn these in ages as I couldn’t find them, but I since managed to locate them among my massive denim collection and am loving them again. They actually look just like leather! These Leatherette Rocket jeans are the best coated denim I have ever come across. I think these are almost as old as my coat now, so I was really pulling out all of my older pieces. I also chose my Topshop white sweater which I have had for years and my Kurt Geiger Winona Boots, which of course you know, have been my favourite for years. I would say the only new and current additions to my outfit would be my MCM Rabbit Cross Body Bag and my Burberry Claret Check Scarf (on sale here). I did buy this scarf in London in April last year, but this is the first time sharing it with you on the fashion blog, despite absolutely adoring it. What do you think of this outfit? I hope you like it. Please comment and let me know!

What I Was Wearing:
Jeans – Citizens of Humanity
Coat – Zara (similar)

I laughed out loud at your remark about why you’ve not worn those jeans in ages. πŸ˜€ I suppose it must happen from time to time though what with such a vast collection? Most of us just have to decide what to wear whereas you have to decide and then locate. πŸ™‚

Anyway, it’s a really nice outfit. The coat is certainly very striking and it looks so warm. πŸ™‚ I see that there’s been some gritting going on in the location – I think that even adds something to the pictures in terms of colour matching and the general winter feel.

    Beautiful scarf too. πŸ™‚

    • January 22, 2016 / 8:31 pm

Yeah, lots of grit as it was snowing in places (we didn’t get any!) and it was freezing and icy, so I guess it did add to the outfit! Ha ha.

    Loving the outfit, Lorna!
Given that I always enjoy reading your blog, I think you also dress up that cute in every outfit. Anyway, it doesn’t matter whether this coat is old, you still rock it πŸ™‚

I love this outfit on you Lorna, especially the unexpected faux leather sleeves on your coat, which add a certain toughness. I really like the way you’ve styled this look, and the cute starfish earrings are lovely! Sometimes it’s really nice to rediscover old favourites in our wardrobe, and style them in a different way.

I hope you’re having a fab Saturday! And thanks so much for your sweet comment on my blog.

The quilted sleeves are a really nice touch on the coat! πŸ™‚ And I love your scarf πŸ™‚

I find with winter coats you tend to keep them for years, especially here as they don’t get worn all too often, haha!

Have you tried these jeans with one of your All Saints jackets? People say double leather is too much but I’ve seen a few outfits where it can look really good depending on what else you wear with it.

    • February 12, 2016 / 10:48 pm

These jeans are actually coated/waxed denim, not leather, but they do have the appearance of it. I haven’t tried both together as I’d feel like it might be too much for me personally, but I’ve seen others wear two lots of leather and it looks good on them.

      • February 15, 2016 / 10:06 am

Maybe you should try it and see what you think, especially as they aren’t actual leather trousers, just coated/waxed. Have you been tempted to try and of the All Saints leather trousers on? I know the All Saints outlet store at Gloucester Quays has some good deals on them, I’ve brought some hoodies in there for less than half the retail price.

        • February 15, 2016 / 11:12 am

At some point I might, but I’m not sure at the moment. You aren’t the first person to ask or try to persuade me though, quite a few have lol. I’ve not really been tempted by All Saints leather bottoms, I think if I was going to get a pair it would have to be from a brand that I know fit me really well and are flattering on my butt and legs, so I’d probably opt for something like Paige Denim, J Brand or FRAME. I’ve got numerous pairs of faux leather pants from BLANK NYC though if you saw those at all in previous outfit? Vegan leather they are. I didn’t even know All Saints had an outlet there though, there’s really cool!

          • February 15, 2016 / 12:19 pm

Yeah its great, I’d really recommend a visit, but like with all outlet stores you are at the mercy of what selection they have in store. I’ve been there maybe four times since its opened and its always been pretty good though.
I’ll have a look at your other outfits now…..

            • February 15, 2016 / 12:21 pm

Ok! I also have MET leather style pants if you want to give those a search too!
